Made a stop at Yoder’s again. I sure wish I lived closer, I’d be here more often! From the moment I walked in the door I could smell freshly baked bread so I knew it would be on my list. Anyway, started out with a box lunch. An ample roast beef sandwich on tomato basil bread with Muenster cheese — delicious. A side of potato salad and Diet Birch beer and I was ready to shop! Several small loaves of cinnamon raisin sour dough bread, Amish butter, three jars of Christmas jam, corn chowder soup mix, a bag of skinny soup noodles, micro marsh mellows and I knew I better head out the door soon! I had a little Birch beer left in the can so I’d be good for the ride back to Durham too! I’ll be back again before Christmas for some more small gifts and maybe the amazing tomato slicing knives will be back in stock by then! Super nice employees and an amazing selection of goods. Love this place!

I love going to Yoders, this is a little Amish Market/Country Store that is packed with all kinds of goodies. I make a trip about every 6 – 8 weeks just to stock up on jellies, jams, fruit butters & whatever else catches my eye I may«need». All the jellies/jams & fruit butters here are the real deal, made with fruit, sugar, spices & pectin — no artificial colors, flavors or high fructose corn syrup here. They have so many flavors & varities you will never find in the regular grocery store — Elderberry Jam, Damson Preserves, Peach Butter, Pumpkin Butter, Sweet Potato Butter & Dutch Apple Pie Jam just to name a few of my favorites. They are a «Bulk Foods» distributor, so they buy in large quantities & repackage themselves to stock their shelves. They have crazy low prices on spices, you can get a ½ lb tub of cinnamon for what you pay for a 2oz bottle at the grocery store, which is good for anyone that does alot of cooking & baking. You can get just about any of the old fashioned candies in 1lb plastic bags like double dipped chocolate covered peanuts, malted milk balls, yogurt covered raisins & a ton of other candies. They always have fresh baked breads that are always awesome, the other day they had Pumpkin Whoopie Pies they had just made which were super good. It’s definitely a fun store to check out. If you go on saturday, go early as they close at 12pm noon except around the holidays, they extend their hours then.

Very interesting place with a variety of old fashioned package goods, pasta, dip and gravy mixes(many under their own label), some canned items, breads & bakery choices, and deli items. This is one of two locations for this market, the other(and original one) is in Salisbury. This location has had to temporarily stop selling sandwiches by order of the local health department until they put in a drop ceciling in the deli/sandwich making area at a cost of around $ 2,000. I certainly feel better knowing that our government, at every level, continues to look out for us in every possible, invasive manner. I’ll reutrn and try their sandwiches another time, if they are able to stay in business.

I think this location should be listed as Yanceyville. I don’t think it’s really in Blanch. I had trouble finding it because I had the address of the old location that really was in Blanch. This location is right outside Yanceyville on the road back to Hillsborough. Also, I was told by an employee that the former owner of this place, Mr. Yoder, sold the store several years ago when it was located in Blanch. It was then moved to the new location. I did see an Amish woman going into the office in back, so I think it must still be Amish owner. It’s possible she’s just an employee and a non-Amish person owns the store now. The selection is decent. I bought a couple jars of jam,(made in Virginia) and some apple butter(made in Pennsylvania), none of which I think was made by Amish. I also bought some birch beer, some raisin bread and a whoopie pie(similar to a gob for Pennsylvanians). The raisin bread was OK but not great. It didn’t have many raisins and tasted stale. I ate the whoopie pie and almost immediately was vomiting up what I ate until I had vomited up the whole thing. I’m guessing the cream filling inside was bad, even though it’s sold and usually eaten at room temperature. I would not buy any baked goods from them again. I would go back to buy jam, jelly, etc. They sell the jam and jelly in large jars and it’s a good price compared to buying jam in the supermarket.
