Great breakfast spot in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. We went twice in a week. Food great, service great, locally owned. Yes, I wish they were in Austin Texas

This is the place to go for food in the morning. The kind that gives you the boost you need to get through the day or a long drive from the Poconos to Baltimore… everything is good here!!! This will definitely be a go to place when I come visit the Poconos on vacation. The décor here is really funny and something to put a smile on your face as long as you have a good sense of humor =)

The service was good, but the food was greasy and not great. They forgot to put feta in my mediterranean omelette.

My husband and I went there yesterday for breakfast. We weren’t sure what to expect… Let me say this, OMG!!! This is by far the best breakfast place I have eaten at in the Pocono area. The servers are super nice and extremely accommodating. The food selections are breakfast and lunch only. To me, that means it’s fresh because they are not carrying a ton of product that doesn’t sell. When our food came out it was steaming hot and delicious! Will be eating my breakfast there from now on. Anywhere else would be a waste of time and money.

After a weekend full of New Years celebration, Chat and Chew was the perfect place for our group to hang, eat, and part our ways. I had the Veggie omelet which was good. I would have preferred the cheese inside the inlet instead of out, but all in all it was great. Service was awesome, really helped us out. If ever in Blakeslee again, chat and chew is a definite stop !

Great local spot in Blakeslee. Living in the Poconos for 30 years, it always nice to find small businesses to support. This one is in a strip mall by Ahart’s supermarket, but don’t be fooled by the outside. Respectful service and even better food. I had the a great breakfast sandwich… blanking on the name though. It does get busy on the weekends(especially when the out-of-towners are in) so get there before 9am, you won’t be disappointed.

Enjoyed this spot– great service, good breakfast/lunch variety, and the food was good too. Located near the big supermarket so we didn’t see it immediately.

This is the best breakfast place in town. Amazing egg sandwiches, friendly service and the food comes out quick. Great prices as well. I got the messy Mike and needed 4 hands to eat that sandwich. Would definitely go again.

This place was amazing… laid back atmosphere… and the décor was adorable… the service was impeccable(fast and friendly)…I had eggs Benedict and my daughter had blueberry pancakes. It was all delicious… my husband had a fried chicken on buscuits with gravy special… he didn’t share, so it must’ve been really good… this will be a staple for our weekend trips…

If your hungry this is your place for breakfast! And the bill was very reasonable! My girlfriend had the cinnamon apple French toast and she loved it! I had eggs, grits and blueberry pancakes they where very good! I highly recommend this place!

BEST breakfast we’ve EVER had !! My husband & I were up in the Poconos for a few days. I found the Chat and Chew on Unilocal with great reviews. Little did we know that it’d be the very best breakfast we ever had. We are from State College, PA, and there are a few great breakfast places that we thought were the best until we ate at the Chat & Chew. Not only are the serving sizes very generous, and the prices more than fair(they only take cash) but the service was excellent to say the least. It will be our permanent stop on each & every visit from now on. Keep up the great work!!!

I am on a great run of restaurants I’ve found on Unilocal, and the Chat ‘n Chew is right up there. One of the top 5 breakfasts I’ve ever had, and all very simple, exactly what you want from your breakfast joint. Wife had an omelette and I had eggs over easy, both done perfect, and let’s face it, not everyone can make perfect eggs over easy. The home fries were thinly sliced potatoes that were very flavorful and the coffee good too. Service was terrific, took the place from 4 to 5 stars, the staff actually appeared to be having fun. Also they all have funny sayings on the back of their shirts which is entertaining. Heading back this morning to try the pancakes!

Mostly good. Quick to be seated on a weekend morning after asking the staff if the bar was available. The Turkey club is excellent, simple, and oversized. The club was enough for two people. Scrambled eggs and bacon were over cooked. Eggs were rubbery and bacon too far on the crispness spectrum, tilting towards burned. Total was under $ 20 so not stressing. Inside isn’t much to look at, but is cozy and fits in with the Poconos atmosphere. Would come back after trying some of the other brunch options.

Found this little gem on Unilocal and I’m glad I looked it up. I came with friends on vacation and needed a good ‘I don’t feel like making breakfast’ breakfast. I definitely wasn’t disappointed. I had the blueberry pancakes with a side of grits(which came in a French onion soup crock so it DEFINITELY wasn’t just a side. Is it just me, or do grits seem to multiply the more you eat them?) My table and I also got a basket of fried hush puppy shrimp and homemade mozz sticks, both of which were quite tasty in the morning.) Anyway, my husband had some monster of a breakfast that included French toast, sausage, eggs, bacon and some other meat products. Little One for M&M pancakes(hey, lay off – it’s vacation!) and the whole meal came to less than $ 35. All in all, a hearth breakfast at a great price, with good service to boot.

There was no way I would eat at Split Rock Resort. Looked on Unilocal and found this nice breakfast and lunch spot right down the street in Blakeslee. Very welcoming vibe. Loved all the funny signs on the walls. I ordered scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, wheat toast, potatoes. My lady ordered a veggie omelette. Both meals were great. Service was great. The coffee was great. We will return — count on that!

I DREAM of the food here. It’s the PERFECT Pocono spot! Cozy, homey, everything you could ever want. Prices are great, something for everyone! Great diet selection, excellent staff, and the oatmeal… the freaking oatmeal. You need this oatmeal in your life. I am from nj and this is just as good if not better than diner breakfast.

Headed here after a booze filled night of wedding shenanigans. I needed a nice, large, sloppy breakfast. Once I sat down and the case of the spinnies hit me, I opted for a less sloppy but albeit hardy breakfast and Chat ‘n Chew delivered. I had the turkey club with sweet potato fries which was large enough to serve as 2 separate meals. BF had pancakes and grits and was satisfied. He was particularly excited that his glass of milk was huge. Service was swift and friendly. The best part of the meal was the beautiful inexpensive check.

Woke up and decided to try this place. Hun got the Jack Frost Omelette, me i’m simple scramble & stacks. Seems aside from Compton’s Pancake House, NOONE and I mean NOONE gets the«scrambled soft» concept! It was OK. Hun was happy with his food,(man is a Veteran, spent years in Iraq & Afghanistan so cardboard to him is good) lol. 4 Stars from Hun. 2 from me. Pancakes good, eggs too hard. I did mention«scrambled soft 3x» Asked oth waitress«if cook didn’t know what scrambled soft meant?» She responded«I know!» So there you go. I won’t return.
