Possibly the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Totally unexpected. You don’t come here for the service, but you come here for the food and the value. The prices were quite reasonable and my fried chicken breasts were cooked to perfection. It’s possible that, after reading other reviews, that their chicken has days when it is a hit or miss. But for me, this was a grand slam.

Yuck. Chicken was dry, chewy, greasy x 3, very little flavor. Potato salad squishy & fairly tasteless. Good fries. Folks were friendly. Tea will put you in a diabetic coma.

I was told this was the best fried chicken in Georgia. I can’t say I agree with that opinion. I had chicken tenders(not necessarily what they are known for but it’s what I wanted) and had to wait 15 minutes to get them. They were unfortunately pretty greasy. Everything else, bread and frys, were average. I will give them another shot if I’m down there again.

Quite possibly the best fried chicken i have ever had. Not greasy. Large portions. Crispy and perfect. I also recommend the fried corn nuggets.

Five gigantic stars for five gigantic, hand breaded chicken tenders, two sides, bread, and a drink for $ 6 from a walk up shack across the street from the Piggly Wiggly. Oh how I love South Georgia. The only thing that was better than the chicken finger deal was the fried chicken thighs. As a fried chicken purist, I appreciate those places that offer skin and bone on chicken pieces, and those from Blakely Chicken do not disappoint. There’s no menu, but I can whole heartedly recommend the fried okra(some of the best I’ve ever had) and fried corn nuggets(why does it seem like every chicken shack in Georgia offers these? See my review of the Big Chick in Washington, GA for proof). French fries looked fine, but at a place with this much character, I consider that a cop-out side. You can eat at the single picnic table out front, or you can get your chicken to go like we did and take your dinner to the town square for completion of the Mayberry fantasy.
