CJ’s Beach House

I go weekly since it’s nearby but if I were in the area CJ’S would be my top pick on Birch Bay. The patio gives you a great view of the ocean and any festivities (like the 4^th of July coming up). The service is great (ask for Chris!), the drinks decent especially the long island tea, and the food solid. The fish and chips and the fish tacos are winners. The chicken sandwich is messy good.

Wow.wow.wow. what a meal. As a chef myself, I am pretty critical, but this place is amazing. My boys ages 16 and 14 had the ribs. Could not finish them. Daughter 16 ate the calamari. Said it was wonderful and the thyme/​lemon aioli was a perfect compliment. My 13 yr old boy had shrimp and chips. Shrimp was cooked excellent. Wife had the lobster and shrimp mac n cheese. Huge portion and the creaminess was mouth watering. I had a perfectly cooked 8 oz top sirloin. If you put A1 on this, I will hunt you down and end you. The compound butter was perfect for this steak. MOLLY our server was perfect with her recomendations. Her smile and charisma was just the thing needed to cap off a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place. The cost of this experience was only $ 125 (not incuding gratuity) and was worth a whole lot more.

There were 3 of us for dinner tonight and all food was amazing. We don’t venture to new restaurants often because you never know what you’re going to get. We were all delighted with the food. The steak was cooked perfectly and the prawns were the biggest we’ve ever seen. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection and the chicken was delicious!

The location is great, right on the bay. The décor inside is so cute. The staff was so friendly. Best fish and chips I have ever had!

Excellent! I was a little skeptical to go here because Birch Bay Restaurants are only 3 stars at best. But CJ’s Beach House was excellent. Best Burger I have ever had. Incredible seasonings and cooked perfectly! Can’t wait to go back!

I had an incredible burger tonight the California burger! Comes with avocado and a skewer with two amazing prons poking out the top. We had fantastic service in the bar and an enjoyable birthday dinner!

Of course the view is fantastic the food and service was great I recommend the calamari!

The Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos were very good, especially with the Chipotle Tabasco that was recommended by our server. My wife had the Lobster & Prawn Mac & Cheese and it was very tasty as well. The kids menu has all the «go to“‘s. My son told me the burger was very good. We sat on the deck and watched the sunset and the attention of the server made our first visit very enjoyable.
We will definitely be coming back any time we are in the area.

This place is nice the service was decent. My husband loved the seafood Mac and cheese, but the highlight for me was the French onion soup! I can’t have white flour and they put a whole grain bread on top of my soup for me! It was the best soup ever and they went the extra mile!

The food is so good. Service is always good to. Nothing bad I can say about this place.

I really wanted to like this place. I would give it 5 starts for the location alone but the location was the only thing that was truly amazing here.
I had read the mixed reviews and was curious to see what my experience would be like. We went on a sunny Saturday afternoon to try this place out. The restaurant was not very full but we waited 20min for a table outside so we could have our dog with us. We ordered our drink and they came out fairly quickly. We looked over the menu and everything sounded great but I felt the prices were pretty high for everything on the menu.
I ordered the calamari salad and my boyfriend got the surf and turf medium rare. The food took forever. We sat there maybe 40 min waiting for our food. It was so lovely out that I didn’t really mind but it was not very busy. The server never came by in that time to check on us which would have been nice since our drinks were empty. The food came and looked amazing but that was about it. My salad was a good size and the dressing was tasty. The surf and turf was a disappointment though. The shrimp had obviously been frozen and were very rubbery in texture. The turf was not tender and was rubbery as well. :(
For 2 drinks (a vodka cranberry and a beer) and 2 entrees (one being a salad) our bill was $ 100. I was disappointed overall with my experience and will not be back.
Maybe it gets better during the summer when there are tourists?

The food was horrible and the dishes were dirty! It was a expereince that we thought Mc Donald’s might be a better option! The seafood platter the fish was small and so dry!

Great lunch with my hubby on a little get away staying at our timeshare down the road. Our timeshare told us it was a great place and they were right! Good wine selection as well as good seafoos. Service was awesome!

This is a great place to done. The service is great. Our server Kayla was very attentive and made a great beer recommendation.
My wife ordered the Jack burger which was big and juicy. Her only complaint was it needed a bigger bun.
I had the fish and chips after seeing a picture of it earlier in the day here on Unilocal.One of the best fish I’ve had in a while.
We will definitely be back in the future.

The service here is great! The burgers are juicy and delicious. I love the fries too! Great place to go with a beautiful view of the beach.
It gets really busy in the evening time.

Met up with some friends for dinner here.
We ended up eating in the bar for the steak special.
Good was good, drinks were grand, service was borderline, but drinks were grand lol.
Wife had lobster tail and enjoyed it. One had the steak with fries and it was good as well as cooked perfectly. The other had the fried oysters and I had the salmon Cobb salad.
A slice of cheesecake was enjoyed for dessert!

Really great fish and chips and mahi mahi tacos with great location! Don’t pass this up it’s definitely worth it! We all will remember eating here as a family memory it was that special!

Best sirloin steak I’ve ever had and cooked to a perfect medium temperature.
Good size wedge that is a steal for the price.
Homemade burger topped with crispy bacon and served with AMAZING FRIES!
My wife loved the Crab Cakes appetizer. She said they tasted very fresh.
We enjoyed as a family their signature Lobster Mac & Cheese, Salmon Cobb, and Grilled Maui Tacos.
One of the best restaurants within 30 miles. (We drive from Lynden Washington because the food is so good.)
Not cheap, but not expensive. Just a great value!
