Great coffee and a very knowledgable staff. The shop itself is small but has a sleek feel to it that is a refreshing alternative to the other coffee shops in town.

Easily the best in Southwest Virginia. Really a world-class coffee shop.

We were in town to visit some friends on the way to DC and were looking for a good, local coffee shop. The reviews caught my eye so we came here. We simply ordered a «good cup of coffee» and we got a GREAT cup of coffee. My husband is from Seattle so we consider ourselves coffee snobs – this little purveyor is totally on pointe. Even as the coffee cooled(I’m a slow drinker) the flavors were delicious and complex. I’m not kidding when I say that if you want to be wowed by a cup of brewed coffee, come here. You’ll forget how much you paid for it and feel supremely smug about supporting a local establishment that sources it’s beans from small, domestic, roasters.

The coffee is awesome and great to have a new spot in town. However, $ 3.50 for a large black coffee is definitely pricey.

Definitely the best coffee in the area. A close second is Lucie Monroe’s in Christiansburg. This place deserves a 5⁄5 for the coffee alone, and has a great vibe, but the inside feels a tad sterile and could use some sprucing up. They just recently relocated, though, so I suspect the atmosphere will improve with time. It’s also close enough downtown to grab food at multiple places. Parking is dumb — I recommend parking on the street somewhere or in a lot elsewhere and walking a bit to save some money.

I hate to say this because the barista and cashier are so friendly and the shop is adorable, but the chai latte was disappointing. It was too watery and lacked flavor. I also purchased a flax seed, raisin cookie that was tasty, but they really do need more pastries.

Best coffee out there! Don’t waste money on anything else as they can’t come close and great customer service! You won’t be disappointed!

Very chill place to study. Paul let me smell all the coffee flavors he had before picking and he ground the coffee and brewed it. he even brought it over to me!

Love love LOVE the sweet latte. The atmosphere is nice in the new Blacksburg location but could use some more furniture. The people were great and loved how peaceful it was for conversation/studying.

This place is quite small. And currently there aren’t many tables or open chairs. But hoping that it’ll add more home-y feeling to it and add more furnitures like it did in Christiansburg! Their sweet latte isn’t your typical sweet latte! You can distinctively taste the espresso, so it’s a bit strong, but perfect amount of it if you’re a fan of quality espresso drink. I’m a fan!

There is nothing quite as welcome on a road trip as a reliably great cup of coffee. We are pretty burnt out on the various Starbucks’ across the country. There was a time, many many moons ago, where their machines were properly maintained and their baristas were trained. Now far more often than not, we get undrinkable abominations of latte. Have no fear! Idego has great beans, and crafts some impeccable lattes. Absolutely delicious. The owner is nice, engaging, and speedy. So worth going a couple miles off the interstate to swing by this place.

I’ll get this out of the way – there’s not a pastry case in sight at Idego Coffee. This was weird to me at first, but I got over it once I tasted the coffee. I don’t know much about coffee, but from what I do know, this place is really serious about providing a high quality brew. The best thing is that the man behind the counter(I would bet he is the owner) is friendly and helpful. Not friendly in a talk-your-ear-off kind of way, but friendly in a way that he will answer any questions you have, like a kind coffee guru. I think I can actually learn a thing or two about coffee by coming here. Oh and for those of you who are also in the lactose intolerant club, fear not! Idego Coffee makes their own almond milk!

This definitely the best coffee shop around! I know a friend of Paul’s and trust me, just knowing what goes into each and every cup of coffee will make you appreciate it so much more!

Great little coffee shop in C’Burg. They put out a great product, wish there was one in Hawai’i. Definitely better than the chains around town. Barista was knowledgeable and very personable.

Go. Just go right now. Short version: Great coffee; great environment, Great proprietor; Good internet speed(6.6÷0.6) When choosing a coffee shop, you want an owner who knows coffee, who loves coffee, and loves people. You get that here, and you get a fantastic cup along with it. If you like good coffee(If the words pour over and chemex mean something to you) then just go now. If you just like regular coffee, on the other hand, just go now. This place makes incredible coffee, and Paul will talk shop as much or as little as you want. Want to talk about the roast? The origin? The brew method? Nothing at all? Paul’s your man. I had the Maker’s Reserve in a Chemex, and it was wonderful. FYI: Internet speeds were(tested 3 times): 6.6M bps down /0.6 Mbps up Oh, and the coffee is amazing, but prices are super cheap! $ 2.50 for a Chemex? That’s nuts.(Compare to a typical $ 4-$ 5)

Best espresso you can get anywhere in the Blacksburg Christiansburg area. Closest real competition is sweet donkey in Roanoke. Absolutely stunning prices for the quality of the drinks, much lower cost than surrounding locations. WiFi could be better and i find it too chilly at times, but this is a great place of you’re looking for a friendly atmosphere. Get to know the barista and regulars at the counter, they are always up for a chat

Stopped by on our way down to NC. We were both very pleased! My wife got a spicy chai latte that she loved. I got a shot of espresso that packed quite a punch. The muffin was clearly homemade, and delicious! Now if only we were in Christiansburg more often…

Love the«Sweet Tooth» options. I am not a coffee person so I enjoy having other items to choose from. The hot chocolate is wonderful! Best I have ever had!

Idego Coffee is unlike any other café you could go to. Paul is such an interesting and involved guy, especially when he is making your coffee. This place gives you the full experience. They even offer coffee tastings every Friday evening! If you are looking for more an exprerience than speed, or love that honetown feel, don’t pass up Idego; and also be sure to try the caramel latte, it’s incredible!

I was invited to meet a friend at Idego today. I walked in and there was a woman sitting at the bar and a baby in a car seat on the floor. This was the wife & child of the man behind the counter; who didn’t smile, nor did he scowl. He sort of waited for me to respond, but to what, I had not decided. According to Wikipedia(hahah) Id references uncoordinated instinctual trends. Ego references organized, realistic part that mediates between the desires of the id and the super-ego. The super-ego can stop one from doing things the id may want to do. I was not sure if I was in his head or if he was in mine. I quickly ordered a mocha. I always start with a mocha and then on the second visit will try a cup of dark brew. These two things tend to solidify my thoughts on knowing whether or not a coffee shop knows what they are doing. The sign on the door said LaMarzocco. A superb machine! The mocha was a gold standard. No whip cream, but rather a frothie milk so delicate it feels like silk on your lips; topped off with a beautiful heart. My only regret is that I did not take a picture. Don’t come expecting to eat; they have a small selection of muffins, scones and cookies. However, if a perfectly made cup of coffee if your thing; I think the Id is worth the interaction because the Ego leads the mark on perfection. Awaiting to hear the story… please Idego, do tell… I will be back and would encourage you to go out of your way for a cup at Idego. See what part of their story you can find out…
