Great bagels when they’re open! We stopped by Dec 23 and they had closed early, so we made sure to make it over well within their posted hours the next day. They were closed early again! The posted hours said they would be open until 2:30 and they were closed before 1 pm. Reminds me of businesses that have been open in Blacksburg in the past that had odd hours and closed within a year of opening.

Was not very impressed with the quality of bagels at this location. Tasted bland and rubbery. I expected freshness for the price. I would rather buy a pack of bagels from Kroger for the same quality and half the price.

By far the best bagels in Blacksburg. They have all different kinds(my favorite is the everything bagel). Great bagels, solid service.

Once I heard that Hello Bagel had Taylor ham, I had to give it a shot. They seem to be trying to please everyone on both sides of the great Jersey divide by giving it the unwieldy name of «Taylor Ham Pork Roll» on the menu. Service was friendly. The flavor of my everything bagel was good, but it was softer than optimal. I thought the portion of Taylor ham was fair, but the preparation was lacking — it had barely seen any heat. The egg and cheese they used were better quality than I expect to be paired with my greasy processed meat. On the whole, just ok. I’m still having trouble getting over the price — $ 7 for a breakfast sandwich is beyond exorbitant.

The boyfriend and I were in town for a wedding and wanted to get breakfast before heading back to Philly. As we were in a college town, everything was super crowded for Sunday brunch so we decided to check out Hello Bagel. Now, we knew that we weren’t going to have the best bagels ever(you really just can’t beat Jersey bagels) but we went in open minded. I ordered the egg, cheddar and bacon on a sesame bagel and he got an everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagels themselves were ok but my breakfast sandwich was awful. It was a microwaved egg patty with a hard waxy piece of cheese and microwaved bacon. I was surprised because the place gives off a new, home-grown sorta vibe and I thought there might be a grill or something. I just ate the bagel, which tasted more like a soft breakfast roll, and threw the rest away.

Awesome fresh, tasty bagels(and this is coming from an NY native), and very friendly staff. My only complaint is that their hours are not convenient if you’re not a student and/or a very early riser — I would love to stop by more often after work and grab a bag, but since they’re only open till 2:30, I end up only swinging by if I have the free time on a weekend morning.

Found this gem because panera was out of bagels and eggs for the second time. Such a cute spot with delicious bagel sandwiches that were reasonably priced. Good coffee too. Also grabbed a piece of their coffee cake which was delicious and made in house. Friendly staff as well. Highly recommend. Will be my new go to spot over panera when I’m in Blacksburg.

This place is a gem of a restaurant hidden in the kroger shopping center. They’re food is fresh and delicious. Joe always goes here on his morning breaks from Kroger. They are so fast and the bagels taste like ones I’ve had in NYC! I highly recommend the veggie cream cheese. Also the prices are great!

Great place to grab a quick breakfast off campus! It was pretty busy on a Sunday morning but the service was very efficient and friendly. My breakfast sandwich was great. This is an awesome new addition to Blacksburg when you want to avoid the wait at Gillie’s and the like.

This place was subpar. I was so excited for it to open because other than Brueggers on campus, there isn’t a good bagel place like I have at home. The bagels are fresh and the prices for just a bagel are great; I can’t complain. However my problem was with their breakfast sandwiches. Their egg was fake and I expected some real, fried egg. The sausage was also surely previously frozen and I ended up peeling it off mid meal. I would be willing to give them a second chance. They also have some weird hours and aren’t open on Monday.

Quick and friendly staff with great fresh bagels! Love the onion bagel and iced coffee. They also have bagel with lox! Recommend if you’re in the area. It’s in the shopping center with Kroger.

The bagels are tasty and they’ve got a good selection; salt, pumpernickel, everything, cinnamon raisin, etc.($ 5.70 for a half dozen). There are build-your-own breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches, coffee, and lots of table space. Modern, spartan atmosphere with nice framed photography on the walls.

Loved it! Great big bagels and delicious sandwiches that are not overpriced! Ambience is really nice inside. I was expecting something like a deli and this looked more like an urban coffee shop. Fantastic addition to Blacksburg.

This place is a great addition to the Blacksburg community. This college town has long-needed a quality bagel shop and Hello Bagel delivers just that. The prices are reasonable, the bagels are fresh, the staff is friendly and helpful.

Hello bagel is definitely my new favorite breakfast spot in Blacksburg. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. My go to order is the plain bagel with bacon, egg and cheddar cheese. It is so classic and so delicious. The bagels taste delish and they aren’t to hard or too soft. Idk how they do it, but this is one of the only places where my breakfast bagel sandwich stays together when I eat it, it’s probably magic. My absolute favorite part of this place is the atmosphere. It has such a clean and cute atmosphere. The artwork is awesome around the restaurant. I wish my apartment looked this nice. It’s on my list of a new study place to try out. Coffee, bagels, wifi outlets and nice artwork, what more could you want for a place to do homework? Definitely stop by Hello Bagel one morning!

The atmosphere here is great; the place is spacious, the décor is inviting, the staff is friendly, WiFi’s quick, and outlets are easily accessible. Because we’re 500 miles from Manhattan and I haven’t been in the Northeast since August, I’ll let go of my pretension…(though I will gladly note that they had some NYC-themed artwork up, likely en hommage to the Mecca of bagels!) The bagels here were pleasantly surprising; I wasn’t blown away, but I can see myself stopping in with some frequency. The bagels are somewhere in the middle of the texture range — I usually prefer a thicker crust and a denser core.(I wonder if they’re committed to their recipe or if they’re experimenting, as they only opened a month ago.) I also do wish they had asked me before toasting my bagel :-/Oh well. There are some other baked goods available(coffee cake, cookies, etc.) that looked good and a decent selection of alternative drinks(cane sugar cream soda and root beer, ginger beer, birch beer, ‘spritzers,’ etc.). I did not try their coffee and am unsure of whether or not they offer more advanced coffee drinks though I will note that their tea selection(Tazo) was a bit uninspired. I’d recommend that they invest in some loose-leaf teas or at least some other less commercial brand. I’m excited to stop in again and will report back on their progress! :)

Nice clean atmosphere. Friendly staff. Fast service. Got the Taylor ham egg and cheddar on everything bagel. Was happy with the bagel. On the salty side but that’s what I like and expect from an everything bagel. Was unhappy to see that the Taylor ham option meant one 1 mm slice of Taylor Ham on the sandwich. I am from NJ and never had a single slice sandwich especially when the slice wasn’t thick. Should be more than one slice for 2.35. Making it a two slice sandwich at the current charge would bring it from 5.50 to 7.85 for the sandwich which would be kind of crazy.

Great to have a real bagel place in Blacksburg. The bagels taste great and they are the real deal. They just opened and it is clear they are still working out kinks(training staff, getting proper holes in bagels). However, the bagels are good(I’ve had plain, wheat, and everything, which was nicely loaded) and the restaurant is clean, simple, and welcoming.
