From start to finish my experience with renting a trailer from U-Haul has been a disaster. I honestly can’t say that every time I’ve spoken with someone about my reservation has been directly located out of this location or if they’ve all been at national call centers, but either way the customer experience has been horrible! I went out of my way to be sure I pre-paid for my reservation so the family member I had picking up the trailer wouldn’t need to and despite my THREE phone calls and assurances from multiple people that this was done, it was NOT. Additionally, when calling to address this issue I keep getting a national customer service center apparently staffed by incompetent jerks. 1.The first lady, who took my reservation, didn’t get the information right. She didn’t have the right time. She didn’t have the HALF dozen furniture blankets right. She didn’t have the right drop off location. And apparently she didn’t process my pre-payment despite my specific request for her to do so. 2. The second lady was only slightly rude when correcting the time of the reservation the day before pickup. She proceeded to tell me why it was set for a noon pickup(because someone else«probably» had it reserved until 11:30) despite my having requested an 8:00am pickup both when I made the reservation AND when I corrected it online after I saw the reservation was made for the wrong time when I had called in. At no time had I been notified that 8:00am would not work, yet the reservation kept going back to 12:00pm. 3. The third person I spoke to, a guy named Donny, I was transferred to by person #2 after I asked to confirm that my pre-payment had gone through before my family member arrived to pick up the trailer the next day. This fumbling idiot couldn’t even read his screen correctly. Every little piece of information he tried to «confirm» with me from my registration was wrong — and when I would correct him he would say«Oh yeah, that’s what it says. I just read it wrong.» or «I mispoke.» He even put me on hold to check with someone else to be sure the payment had gone through and told me it had and everything was all set. 4. The fourth person I spoke with, the morning of pick up, admittedly got the brunt of my frustration because I had just heard from my family member that they had to pay for the reservation when they picked up the trailer that morning. So at this point, after confirming multiple times with multiple people that the reservation was taken care of as requested, I was pissed that so many people had screwed up so many things. I started the conversation with a calm tone, trying to explain the situation, and this new lady started off interrupting me over and over. I’ll give her a pass on the first one when she interrupted me to be sure she had my phone number to pull up my information, but from that point forward as I tried explaining what happened and that I was very unhappy with the service I had received to that point and I wanted the payment corrected, she continued to interrupt me saying she knew what happened because she could see it in her notes. I asked her twice to stop interrupting me, at which point she became extremely condescending — speaking slowly and loudly and repeating how she was trying to help me. I finally had to close my office door and raise my voice above hers to get her to hear my request — a refund to my family member’s card and charge the correct card.(Yes, I’m aware that I could just give my family member cash, but I shouldn’t have to. U-haul should make this right!) She said the store manager at that location, Brian Dean, would be the only person who could process a request like that so she would have him call me. She checked some system which showed he was«currently online» and said she was sending him a message right away to call me because I was very unhappy. It has been almost two hours and I still haven’t heard from him. I’m SODONE with U-haul! They need a serious overhaul on their customer service training!
