Went here for Mother’s Day brunch and it did not disappoint! Tile fish was cooked perfectly and was delicious.

Very elegant place and the service was so attentive. Delicious dishes. I had the chilled asparagus soup then the cheese platter. Ending it with vanilla ice cream with sautéed apples yum yum! Definitely will return the next time I am in town for business!

This place is a jewel. I’ve only been here one another time a couple of years ago and I remember it being great. This time didn’t disappoint! It is pretty small but very intimate, the noise level is pretty elevated which wasn’t a problem at all. Services super fast, as soon as you sit down you have someone there taking your drink order. The bread they provide is house baked and quite divine. For an appetizer I ordered the Fritto Miso which consist of oysters, snapper and shrimp with a chunky tarter sauce which was to die for! My entrée was the Hickory Grilled Hereford Beef Filet, it was a tad bit tough but still had a wonderful flavor it came with Horseradish mashed potatoes and also asparagus and mushrooms. We finished off dinner with the Satterfield Beignets with sautéed apples. This is a great place, I feel that everyone should give a try! Truly a Birmingham jewel!

I tried this restaurant for the second time and was simply unimpressed. The first time was for a business dinner about a month ago. For the reputation and prices, I expected something special, flavorful, surprising. My dish(the scallops) did not fall into any of those categories. It was simply«fine» and underwhelming. Then last night we arrived for a birthday dinner and were seated in the casual/bar area. They had one waitress for the entire area and we waited at least 10⁄15 minutes after being seated before we even got water. The service went downhill from there. Finally, after waiting for the waitress all night, my dinner arrived. I ordered the duck this time, thinking that I’d maybe gotten the wrong dish during my first experience. Unfortunately, it was almost cold by the time it got to me and VERY hard to cut. I won’t be suggesting the restaurant to anyone. There are too many great places to go in Birmingham to waste your time here.

I have really enjoyed this local neighborhood spot. My wife and I have eaten at the bar here several times. The menu changes frequently and all of the items I have had have been good. The service is attentive without being over the top. The bar tenders are knowledgable and selection is great. I am not a dessert guy, but my wife frequently has a dessert. If I had a complaint, the desserts are not quite as good as the rest of the experience.

Had the best Anniversary ever here! The duck was incredible and the staff positively doted on us! The ambiance was quiet, and very intimate though the restaurant was completely full. Everything we expected and more!

Sat at the bar and shared appetizers and a bottle of wine. Perfect place for date night. Relaxed atmosphere with the friendliest bartender in town(thanks, Tina!). First time here because of the distance from downtown but worth the drive. I’ll definitely be back.

Amazing atmosphere, great, hospitable staff from the time you walk in the door, until dessert, & incredible food. The ‘pork and greens’ coddled egg has a lot going on, but is a good size to share with other foodies at the table. The Snapper is amazing for the light eater & the Venison Osso Bucco is perfect for the hearty meal. Thank you for a wonderful time and a perfect server.

Great service, and great experience at the chef’s counter — dinner and kitchen entertainment! My food was very good, but not outstanding. Two pet peeves: 1) Valet parking for the sake of looking fancy. There were 40 parking spots within steps of the door. It was more of a hassle to valet than to park. 2) One size fits all Olive Garden spec wine glasses. The gentlemen next to me got proper red wine glasses with their bottle, but my $ 10 by-the-glass pour got dinky stemware and a frugal pour.

This is my absolute favorite date night spot! The setting is intimate and ideal. The Bitter End is a must try cocktail! I average going at least 10 times a year.

I ate at Satterfields about 7 or 10 years ago, and wasn’t impressed, so had not been back until very recently. Wow, the place has changed! Not the décor necessarily. But the food was outstanding! Everything we ordered was top notch. The drinks were top-notch. And the wait staff was wonderful. We will be back.

Food is average at best, prices are ridiculous with an attitude that is unbecoming of any restaurant in a shopping center. One of only a few«nice» restaurants in town however.

Satterfield’s is a gem. While other restaurants in town might get more press, this place is quietly knocking out culinary masterpieces. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Each plate is perfect and innovative. I especially like the«coddled egg,» which is a creation that blends contrasting textures and flavors, and could easily go overlooked on a menu. Each entrée is fabulous and usually seasonal in nature. You can also order a vegetarian entrée that is off the menu. The vegetables are expertly prepared. To be circumspect, the setting might turn off a few food snobs. It’s tucked away inside a strip mall atmosphere. Don’t let that fool you. This place is high cuisine. Highly recommended.

So this place is a must-have experience the next time you are in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The menu is not a particularly long one, but the thoughtful products they produce are just superior. The beignets are to die for, and are served in a very unique preparation that includes warm peaches and ice cream. For the group that we were with almost all of us had a custom request for our entrée and the server never even blinked an eye, but instead graciously excepted our custom order and accomplished getting them for us. As seems to be the custom a lot in the Birmingham area, this restaurant does offer valet on a complementary basis.

Great Service and Food. The bread that was brought out was awesome(white, jalapeño corn bread, and raisin-almond bread). Their menus change, so make sure you look at the current day online. I had the Leek Soup and it was excellent except you get a very small quantity. I probably would not get soup again for the price you pay and the quantity. They quality was very good however. I had the Grouper and was very delicious. Very buttery and perfect season/salt. Again, very small portion for grouper I thought. The potatoes and mini-seafood items were very good. Lima Beans were not very good, but everything else on the plate was awesome. A bigger sized grouper would have been nice for this price. The desert was just okay. Nothing to write home about.

We made reservations in advance for Valentine’s Day. We got a 9pm in the dinning room because we did not want to be near the chefs bar. Well when we arrived we were settled at the chefs bar because the dinning room was full even though we had reservations specially in the dinning room. The food was good but not for the price. It was very small portions and just wasn’t it’s best. Maybe because of the late night?! Not sure. We both had one glass of wine with our dinner and by the time we left our bill was over 300 bucks and we left starving. Not worth it. Waitress was very nice and informed. Just won’t be back.

We did Dinner for 4 on a Monday night and sat at the chef counter. The two cocktails I had were excellent. Started with the classic blood and sand and then went to a house recipe that I can’t remember the name of but it was a nice stirred gin cocktail. We started with the cheese plate which I enjoyed very much. My girlfriend got duck and I got the Venison Osso Buco. The skin on the duck could have been more crispy but the flavor was very good. The Osso Buco was surprising on the dry side but still was a good dish. Fix the two issues with the entrees and this is a five start establishment.

The food was absolutely delicious! Sweet potato ravioli Tenderloin with garlic mashed Pork porterhouse with grits/greens Apple beignets Served hot, excellent presentation. Service is just average, unfortunately. We’ve tried this restaurant ¾ times and the staff is not nearly as attentive as Frank Stitts restaurants. We ordered a glass of wine and they forgot to bring it. Waitress just set the menu down on the table and walked away without asking for our cocktail orders. Training of staff is definitely needed. We saw a man walking around who may have been a manager but he neglected to check with us. Hope they make corrections.

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars, but that doesn’t seem to be an option. I would describe my experience here as good, but not great. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation time, and were seated immediately, which was nice. They have a nice wine selection, both by the glass and the bottle. They start you out with a small plate of a variety of breads, which were good. None of the appetizers really caught my eye, so we ended up not getting one. I had the Duck. It was served with brussel sprouts. Again, it was good, but not great. I found myself longing for the Duck Roulettes served at Bistro 218. A person at the table next to me had the fish(not sure which one), and she sent it back for tasting ‘too fishy.’ We finished up with the chocolate cake dessert, which was quite delicious. Our server was nice and attentive. This may seen a bit menial, but the bench seat on one side of the tables was INCREDIBLY uncomfortable to sit on. It almost felt like the top sloped forward and the bottom sloped down, so that it forced you to lean toward the table. Again, I think it deserves more than 3 stars, but not quite 4. I’m not sad that we went, but I won’t be begging to go back anytime soon.
