We wandered into the Old World Olive Press out of curiosity while walking in Birmingham. Until then, it never occurred to me to toss down shots of olive oil let alone vinegar. But seeing a whole wall of various flavored olive oils on one side and similarly various flavored balsamic vinegar on the other with stacks of small plastic tasting cups this became a unique experience. By the time we were done tasting, including some delicious combinations recommended by the oil and vinegar equivalent of a sommelier, we bought several bottles and were hooked! We now buy all of our vinegar(except the 1.5 gallon plastic bottles used mostly to back-flush our tankless water heater) there. Our favorite is the 18 Year Old Balsamic Vinegar that I could sip every day… but we use it mostly for various recipes. And we also have an Espresso Balsamic Vinegar and a Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar that you must try to become a believer. And we also have Blood Orange Olive Oil(used it in brownies as they demonstrated-unbelievable) and Basil EVOO. It is the only place we go for special oils and vinegars.
