Electra, Divinity of Light

Originally entitled «Divinity of Light,» Miss Electra was crafted by Edward Field Sanford, Jr. and stands atop the Alabama Power Company headquarters building in Downtown Birmingham. The lovely lady is completely naked (hard to believe here in the Bible Belt) and stands 23 feet tall. She is quite thin and carries her 4,000 pounds very well. She’s been up there since 1926 and looks quite good for her age.
From anywhere in the Birmingham area, you can’t miss her. She is gold plated and has lightning bolts in her hands.
A few years ago, there was an interesting back and forth in the newspapers as she apparently «dated» the Vulcan Man across the way.
