Whistling Andy made for a fun stop on our way from Missoula to Glacier. The tasting room is pretty large, and there’s a good amount of seating. I believe they offer flights of their various spirits, but we opted for cocktails instead. They were solid, and featured some neat, off-beat ingredients.

we couldn’t believe we had driven past this place multiple times and not seen it! We opted to get a tasting flight and cocktail each. Lots of different whiskey, gin, kirsch, rum and their special beer schnapps. everyone was amazing. the peach gin and cucumber gin were the best ive ever had. and the beer schnapps is one of a kind! just mind blowing. the staff are welcoming and love to talk about what they do. cant wait to bring our friends to this place on our next trip down.

Long been a Gin drinker, stopped in on a road trip two weeks ago and tried the Gin. It is some of the best Gin I have had. Along with great customer service! Brought a bottle home to enjoy, just wish I lived closer. Keep up the great work.

I got a bad bottle of rum for my wife. The other three bottles of various spirits were wonderful. After a quick email asking about said rum, a response came with in hours. Some t-shirts and a new bottle is on the way. Unexpected us an understatement. Fantastic spirits at a good price with world class service. That is how it should be, and worth a review. Check em out! P. S. The tasting room is less than half of liquor store prices. If you can make there, DOIT!!!

We recently spent a long weekend getaway in Montana and took one day to drive around Flathead Lake. We had stumbled upon Whistling Andy’s a couple of years ago when I participated in the Polar Bear Plunge down the road and thought it would be a good place to warm up. I think that was the weekend of their grand opening or something, but we didn’t remember being as impressed as we were on this recent trip. We decided to share two tastings of 4 liquors each so we could try all 8. We’re not big gin drinkers, but my husband is a rum fanatic and we both really enjoy whiskey. We were pleasantly surprised by the pink peppercorn and pear gin. Good stuff, right there. In fact, so good, we decided to buy a couple of bottles. We also enjoyed the moonshine and whiskey. The hibiscus-coconut rum was smooth and we immediately started talking about all the tropical drinks we couldn’t wait to make so we grabbed a bottle of that too. I think the biggest surprise for both of us was the Hopshnop! Distilled hops. Basically, they get beer from some Montana brewery and distill it. My husband, who doesn’t like beer at all, said it was the best way to drink beer and liked it enough to add a bottle of that to our purchase. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable and the booze is good. We definitely plan to add Whistling Andy’s as a regular stop on our trips to the Flathead and Glacier. Cheers!

So cool. Some local couples getting big into distilling some good spirits. You can do a tasting of four spirits for $ 8. They have rums, vodka, brandy, whiskey, and moonshine. Now, I don’t do shots, so distillery tasting is hard for me. But I did my best. And, if you don’t want tastings, they do make mixed drinks. The owners are so friendly. They gave us a tour and explained how they got into the business and what their future plans were. This is such a cute place. Definitely swing in and check it out if you can. Great find.

We were visiting the parent’s vacation home and we found this place by accident on a walk at the end of the street where they live. It is in a building just behind the car wash so it doesn’t jump out at you. What a find! They have great tastings and it is worth a stop!

Allrighty then. You know how Unilocal nags, I mean reminds you, of the various stuff you’ve done on Unilocal(photos, check-ins, tips, etc.) and wants you to write a review? Well Whistling Andy is one of those places I added a picture for(which reminds me, I still need to add a picture for the bottle) and Unilocal wants me to write a review… So here it is(and a couple others I’ve been procrastinating over). Thuy and I were in Montana a couple months back and had a seriously good time. In addition to all the natural beauty that abounds, we found that there are some pretty decent restaurants and even better breweries. In our quest to find more breweries, we also came across quite a few distilleries. Sadly we were not able to visit any, but on the drive back to Washington to catch our flight home, we stopped in the town of St. Regis for some food and gasoline. In this town was a grocery store(Stangs Food Center), and they also sold beer, wine and liquor. It was here I picked up a bottle of Whistling Andy Rum. Whistling Andy comes in two flavors that I saw. A standard white rum and a hibiscus coconut. I heard good things about the hibiscus coconut rum, but I really could not envision using a whole bottle of it. Instead I bought a bottle of the regular rum, primarily as a gift for a friend. It’s a pretty cool bottle as each one is numbered and signed, which makes for a unique gift. As far as rum goes, it’s not going to rock your world, but it a perfectly good rum for mixing. I do rather regret at least not trying the coconut hibiscus, as Montana spirits are prominent in the local bars and restaurants. If I’m ever back that way, I certainly will try to make it to the distillery(which is located in Bigfork, which is at the NE corner of the large and beautiful Flathead Lake — another worthy destination).

Oh, heck YEAH! We bumbled onto Whistling Andy in January of this year. It was one of the very few places open on a Sunday afternoon in the Flathead, and it was c-c-c-c-old out. I think it was Brian who helped us sample the various wares. Whistling Andy’s Hibiscus Coconut rum, an international award winner, is a local favorite and getting to taste some«moonshine»(unaged whiskey) was a real treat. They also have several varieties of gin. We left slightly warmer, clutching several bottles that we «exported» to Oregon. Now that we live in the Flathead, we can stop in for a drink or some live music of a Wednesday night, and it’s close to a great state park and all the fun that Bigfork has to offer. Try some Hibiscus Coconut rum with rhubarb Dry soda like the Raven serves it… a can’t-go-wrong summer drink!
