This was our 1st visit to The Flippin’ Egg. I was Not Famished so I had Vegetable Soup with Cornbread. I wish I had taken a pic it was SOFULL of VEGETABLES. But I was Distracted by Kevins FRENCHTOAST!!! I did take a picture of the FRENCHTOAST. This will be a hit & miss restaurant for sure. If you frequently Diners you know what I mean. Don’t bother with the Mozzarella Sticks they come with a prepackaged peel open container of Marinara Sauce. BUT!!! We will be BACK!!! Kevin Really LIKED the FRENCHTOAST!

After a tough day on the road, comfort food definitely was in order. This place next to the Comfort Inn didn’t disappoint. The chili(with added onions and cheese) was maybe the best I have ever had, and I don’t gush very often. The country fried steak was adequate, but when paired with their original mashed potatoes, a real hit. Super Waitress Connie was exceptional in providing great customer service. Nice and clean atmosphere with easy access off U.S. 23.

Overall the food was average at best. The restaurant is a former location of Huddle House and the menu appears to be fairly similar, and with little change in the décor and appearance of the building except the name, it seems like it’s still Huddle House. I had fish and chips and it was average at best, although I wouldn’t expect fresh and high quality fish at a restaurant in Big Stone Gap, VA. The fish was okay but it was probably«freshfrozen.» For the prices, the quality should have been a little better. Overall, not bad, but average at best.

Ate here today(9÷26÷15) for the first time. The food was really good and our service was great. We were greeted immediately upon entering. The restaurant was clean. My meal was just over $ 15 and that was a breakfast skillet(with two additional items not already included in the price, two drinks, and an appetizer). In addition the regular menu, our waitress brought us the specials menu which had even cheaper options. I love that they are open 24 hours and that they serve breakfast all day. I’ll definitely be back. One note about this page… the cost scale(the $$$) needs to be changed. The most expensive item on the menu is $ 9.99 and those are the items with steaks. Updating that will greatly help potential customers who are looking for somewhere to eat and are choosing based upon costs.

Found the food very good. Had the Coal Miner’s breakfast very, very good. Friendly staff and good service. Would recommend this place to all that’s in the area. Will be back next year. K. Walters(INDY)

The service is slow and the food is pretty expensive. It wouldn’t be my first choice for food in the area. The decorations are tacky.

I was very disappointed in this resturant. The previous reviews are not reflective of the service or quality of the food that I received. The portion size was small for the price paid. The menu is a scaled back version of what the former resturant was.

This place has really friendly service and they are open 24 hrs. My daughter and I stayed at the Comfort Inn right next to it and so we gave it a try. They have delicious breakfast items. I tried their sweet potato pancakes and they were good. The sides for their dinner entrees are good portions and they were good in taste. The prices were reasonable. We always had left over to take back to the hotel some they had nice big portions.
