My date selected this spot and we were really excited to try it, seeing the great reviews. But this place effed up literally everything that could be effed up in a restaurant! Our reservation was for 7pm on a Friday and we got there a few minutes late — no problem since we were seated right away. Here’s what went wrong: — Seated super close to the next table — not great for a date but it wasn’t too bad — Didn’t get menus — didn’t get menus until we flagged down our server who just finished taking another order. She said«great timing!» but girl no you’re 5 min late on that — Ordered beers but waited 15 min for them — Waited 10 min for waters and then another 5 for beers. — No appetizers came out — we ordered brussel sprouts but I think they went to the farm to pick them after we ordered because it took at least 45 min after we ordered. The server felt bad and gave us some gazpacho on the house, apparently. I said apparently because we were eventually charged for it. — WRONGFOOD — so 2 hrs after we sat down, we got our entrees, which were completely different from what we ordered. It was 9pm and we were starving so we ate it anyway. At this point the party of 10 that arrived after us had already finished their meal and left. Um what? — Bill was WRONG — We were charged for our beers, the 2 appetizers(1 of which was supposed to be comped, and the wrong entrees, as in not what we originally ordered and not what we were given to eat). The only reason my date paid for the bill as is was because it came out to be lower than if we were billed correctly. Overall this was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had. I didn’t want to make a big deal because I didn’t want to make my date feel worse than he already did! It was so disappointing because I knew he was trying to treat me out :(Obviously I didn’t look at how much tip he gave but I hope it was $ 0. Only pros: — food was decent — found out my date is a nice guy

Came in for Saturday brunch and had an experience that exceeded my expectations, which were already pretty high. The lobster and brie omlette was the highlight of the meal and bottom-less mimosas are not to be missed. What i really appreciated most were the little touches; from bits of fresh grapefruit pulp and citrus peel garnish in the mimosa to the warmed milk for coffee. I would highly recommend for a casual get together with friends or romantic gnosh with your sweety.

Came here again, this time for a weekday lunch vs weekend brunch. The food did not disappoint. We had the salmon and fresh market salad & the oat fried chicken sandwich. Another great meal.

Sunday Brunch for two at 11:30. Made a reservation, but if you’re early enough you may not need it. Our server was extremely nice and helpful, getting us just the right items to pair with our bottomless mimosas. The chicken and waffles were awesome, with extremely tender chicken that had just enough breading. The Gourmand Eggs Benny was delicious, and the side of hashbrowns paired nicely(and helped sopp up some of that extra hollandaise you don’t want to waste). Great atmosphere, and great experience. Highly recommended.

After coming out of a chiropractic appointment I was walking by and decided to have lunch here. We were sat quickly and our waiter was helpful with our food choices. I was wowed when the food came out. We got the Lara chenels with goat cheese to share. The goat cheese balls were marinating in olive oil and pink peppercorns. It was delicous. My friend ordered the oat crusted chicken fried sandwich and I ordered the grilled pacific prawns with grits. The chef(Issac I believe) brought out the food himself and we both complimented him on the presentation and flavor! Just a great tasting experience and one I will Return to now that I know it exists!

So consistent and really so delicious! Chef Isaac is a master at creating dishes that are as beautiful looking as they are creative and delectable. Chauncey is so sweet and welcoming and sets the tone for amazing service and I might add, she is so sweet! We love this place as well as the food and experience! Overall I give it a 10++! Try it, you will love it!

Stopped by for late brunch with the family… simply love this place! Be aware… if you are in a rush, do not come here, if you have a lazy relaxed brunch and can enjoy the all you can drink mimosa’s then there is no other place for you! Their grapefruit mimosas are made with real grapefruit and real champaign(menu says prosecco) so I can honestly say it’s one of the best mimosas in LA… the food once you get it is amazing! One of best burgers in LA and perhaps one of the best fries in LA! Cut with thick slices and with special ketchup it’s so mouth watering… but their chicken and waffle is unbelievable which is why we usually come here for! Even their goat cheese dish is made perfectly! Everything is made to order so it does take time but when it arrives you will be in heaven!

Came here with my boyfriend while on vacation from Miami. I had seen this place on Unilocal and am so glad I did. The waitress was super friendly from the very beginning and gave us some suggestions of what to get for brunch. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles, I ordered the Benedict, and we both got bottomless mimosas(which they made sure were always full). She informed us that they had just run out of waffle mix and had to make more so she gave us a free dish from the chef of roasted Brussels sprouts that were so good we didn’t care what happened to the waffle mix. When our food came, it was equally as good and we both kept saying how we wished we lived in Cali just to be able to come back and try other options. We ended up ordering a dessert too(hey, it’s vacation) of donuts with peaches and vanilla ice cream. At the end of our 5 day trip of all delicious places, we agreed this was top 3, if not #1. R

Was excited to come here and unfortunately was so disappointed by the service of this one waitress. Came here with a couple and wanted to order the soup for appetizers and after about 7 mins the waitress says that she was misinformed and that they don’t have a cauliflower soup and have tomato soup. Which is totally fine but I asked if I could try the soup as I’m not a fan of super creamy soup. The waitress gave me the look of death. She brought me a little saucer of the soup to taste. And literally dropped it on the table so Rudely– I look at the saucer literally there was soup for an ANT to taste. It was unbelievable. So after about 7 – 8 mins of waiting for the waitress to come back(she’s behind the counter) and asks how the soup was. I answered honestly, and said«there was barely any soup for me to taste». Regardless I think it might’ve pushed her to be a bit nicer. The burger though– was delicious!!! Super juicey and the meat is high quality!

The prospect of visiting this place was quite high. Especially after the rave reviews from my friends. This(self proclaimed) gourmand was very excited about a late brunch on a windy Sunday afternoon. It’s a good thing that there are no outside seats in this restaurant or else we would have been blown away before our meal would even arrive. But what is lacks in patio dining it makes up for in a very cozy décor. Although a tad lacking in any one particular style of decorations, the pillows on the benches, tables, seats, and definitely unique kitchen utensil studded ceiling lights, create a very comfy atmosphere. I decided against the burger, which was recommended by everyone and instead opted for the Baby Kale Cesar, Smoked Salmon BLT, and the Tri-Tip Sandwich. Don’t worry, I was’t tackling all of this by myself. Although those who know me best, know that I can. I’m a huge fan of the Kale Cesar and this one was as good, if not better than many others I’ve had before. The dressing had a perfect amount of saltiness and creaminess while the kale was perfectly chewy without giving my jaw a workout. The smoked salmon in the BLT had just the right amount of smoke, but the amount of mayo(aioli, whatever) was definitely over the top. As for the Tri-Tip, it was good, but a tad under seasoned and a little dry. I think the whole sandwich was toasted after assembly and so the meat dried out under the salamander. Assuming they used a salamander to toast it. The better way would be to warm the meat on the plancha with a little bit of jous to keep it moist and then assemble the sandwich. That being said, it also had too much mayo, probably to keep it from being dry. The drinks, the finishing cup of espresso, service, and the overall experience is one which will keep me coming back here. Next time around, though, I’m going for the burger!

My friend and I decided to check this place out during dineLA restaurant week. It’s a small little restaurant right before restaurant row begins. The interior is cozy and comfortable for a causal night out of dining. We started off with their amuse bouche, which was a fried potato cake. It was quite tasty for a one bite to start off the meal. For appetizer, I had the Salmon Tartare with Squid Ink Rice Crackers. This was quite delicious! The salmon tartare had a slight kick to it from the gochujang sauce. The rice crackers added a slight saltiness to the whole dish and a nice crisp when eaten together. For the entrée, I opted for the braised short rib with foie gras. The short rib was so soft and tender. The foie gras could have been fattier, but still delicious! For dessert, I got the chocolate turtle shell tarte. The chocolate with the salted caramel together was delicious! Only thing is that they sprinkled peanuts on top, would have preferred another sort of nut. Overall, the food was delicious for $ 39 for dineLA. Service was good and the waitress was friendly. Though there were only 2 waitress for the whole space, and sometimes they were a bit slow. Parking: There’s a parking lot behind the restaurant. Street parking is free after 6pm!

Prospect Gourmand is an upscale(New) American cuisine restaurant, located on La Cienega’s restaurant row. The ambience is causal so no need to bust out your red carpet dresses or suits. There is free parking located next to Sixt rent a car, in a little parking lot. The Ambience: The moment you step into this restaurant it’s like stepping into a mini art gallery as it is so uniquely decorated from the ceilings to the pillows to the chalk painted counter at the front to the place settings. It has such a comfortable upscale farm-like vibe that is very welcoming. This is a smaller restaurant which actually provides an intimate setting. They have a small bar up front which can sit about 4 people. I came around 7PM on a Saturday and it got packed around 8PM so if you’re looking to not have to wait for a seat, plan accordingly. The Service: Phenomenal! I felt like I was a judge on Top Chef lol The waiter was so sweet and explained the menu and wines to us. She even took the time to offer suggestions on pairing certain wines with certain food items. We were able to wine taste before settling on which one we would like with our meal. When the food came out she presented it to us letting us know what it was and what was in it, just like they do on the show Top Chef. They have such a small staff which is why it’s amazing that they can produce the high quality food and service that they do. The Food: I literally died and went to culinary heaven! Their food is AMAZING! I came here last night for the DineLA experience and this place did not disappoint! To be quite honest, for the high quality food that they serve, they could easily get away with charging more money than what they do. This place is so affordable for the high quality food that you receive. They give out free Amuse Bouche which just melts in your mouth and sets the tone for the decadent food your night will consist of. I highly recommend the following: Bacon Wrapped Scallop Fritter(to die for!), Bone In NY Strip Delmonico(cooked to perfection, great sized portion), and the Crème Brûlée Classic(The best Crème brûlée I have ever had!) DineLA or not, this restaurant is amazing and has just become one of my new favorites. I will definitely be frequenting this restaurant so I can try everything on their menu =)

I met a friend here for lunch and was, quite simply, blown away. The whimsical interior and cordial, efficient service were bonuses to the great meal I had. I ordered the fish & chips. The beer-battered, fresh Alaskan cod was perfection. A flavorful crunchy exterior covered the moist and tender fish. The mild flavor of Alaskan cod makes it my favorite choice for fish & chips and, as someone who lived half my life in Seattle and have had plenty of fish & chips, this was one of the best I’ve ever had. The hand cut potatoes used for the fries were cooked perfectly. The exterior of some were slightly crunchy while most were soft both inside and out. They weren’t greasy and were well seasoned. Normally I will only eat half of my fries in an effort to reduce carbs but this time every single one of those delicious fries found their way into my belly. My friend didn’t need to twist my arm very hard to give dessert a try. We shared the chocolate tart. The dark chocolate covering the tart had a deep flavor that wasn’t too sweet. Sweetness was added by the drizzle of caramel on the plate and the accompanying candied pecans. A scoop of salted caramel ice cream — the best I’ve ever had — was also included and was velvety-smooth. Each bite of that ice cream started with a cold-saltiness on my tongue followed by a slightly sweet burst of caramel. Incredible. My friend told me her pan seared salmon was excellent and that she has previously enjoyed the Gourmand burger which she almost talked me into getting. I trust her taste buds so am comfortable recommending those choices as well.

Juicy Fancy restaurant without the Fancy Prices I am in love with this restaurant from the appetizers to the desserts. I just Unilocaled this place and came here by accident and the restaurant deserves all the excellent ratings it’s been given. It is the truth. We got the duck appetizer which was delicious. The burger was amazing and the fries had a great crunch to it, this is one of my favorite dishes here. This is how a burger and fries should be made all the time, you won’t be disappointed. We also got the organic chicken dish which was very good and cooked to perfection. The dessert was awesome, it was donuts with Saturn peaches. The food here is amazing and I would love to come back and try the other dishes. The owner gave me a Saturn peach because I was amazed at how great it tasted and it was my first time hearing about it. The ambiance is beautiful and you can feel the hospitality and warmth of the whole place. The experience we had here was top notch. The restaurant really surprised me at how delicious everything we ordered was. I would definitely come back here again, but I don’t live close so when I’m in the area and I want a sure thing, this place is it. This is the epitome of how a restaurant should be in every way.
