I love Palm, and i do not say that very often about Steakhouses, however they have exceded most of my expectations on more than one occasion. Let’s start with the location. Palm is located in Beveraly Hills, nestled amongst a gathering of shopping and other restaurants. They offer valet directly in front, or you can typically find meters, or pay lots fairly close. As a fair warning, valet can take a while, so I suggest forgoing this option or asking that your car be held in front. I really like the décor at PalmWith white table cloths and dim lighting, accompanied by cartoon drawings on the wall, Palm presents as the high end restaurant it is, but offers a relaxed vibe. As someone that doesnt eat beef(I know, horrible) I was pleasently surprised to find their menu offers a variety of options. They have your variety of steaks, seafood, and even some pastas. Thus far I have tried the Seabass and Ahi Tuna. Both were amazing. I have been told their steaks are phenominal as well. They also offer a nice wine list and signiture cocktails to choose from. Now, I have saved the best for last, dessert. They have one of the most amazing cheescakes you will ever come across. It is a must when you dine here. I recently purchased an entire one in place of a birthday cake for someone. When i ordered it the Chef was very accomidating and personable. Lastly, service her is always impeccable, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. I highly reccomend Palm.

We went to The Palm for my husband’s birthday. We are seasoned restaurant eaters. We are comparing The Palm to Fleming, Mastro’s, Ruth Chris and Houstons. We were very very disappointed. Lobster bisque– tasty but served lukewarm Lettuce wedge– just ok Crab cakes– Good Favor but no crust to them. Not brown at all. Two uninspired cakes on a plate Bread– Served hot but my husband says it was heated in a microwave, had a spongy texture Half and half– cold and greasy onion strings and burnt potato chip Fries– couldn’t eat the half and half so replaced them with fries– uneatable as well Go to Mastro’s across the street to enjoy your lunch.

Not much to say, it’s just what you would expect. Very good food, good atmosphere and good service. Just 4 stars because nothing is truly exceptional. But, worth going to and I will be going many times in the future.

We have walked by this restaurant so many times and have never wandered in. We stay at the Montage Hotel next door and we have two of our favorite restaurants on this street: Il Pastaio and Sugarfish. MID-REVIEWTIP: Go to Sugarfish for sushi. My #1 favorite place to eat sushi. Every time we visit LA, we are there. We heard about the Palm from a guy we ran into on top of the roof of Louis Vuitton which is couple of blocks over. We were buying a Mother’s Day present and the lady who was helping us brought us to the roof terrance(didn’t know they had one). And then she brought us some champagne and we were out in the sun having the Beverly Hills experience. There was another couple on the terrace and we started talking about food(what else do I talk about?). He asked if we’d been to the Palm and I told him no, and he quickly scolded me for not having been there sooner. He went on and on and called it an «institution». So, about a year later, we made our way to Palm. It’s hard because there are so many great places to eat in the area! Here’s what we ate: CLAMCHOWDER(3.5) Good taste, well-made. My only mild complaint is that it lacked creaminess. And because of that, the color was not a bright white which is something I love about clam chowder. I grew up in Boston so maybe a bit picky on this one. Would skip next time. CALAMARI(5) Perfectly done. No complaints. Would order again. CRABCAKES(5) Three little golf ball-sized crab cakes came with a dipping sauce. Full of crab flavor. Would order again. SURF N TURF — NY Steak and Lobster(5) They give you a choice of lobster size(4, 5, or 6 pounds). Since I was splitting the dish with my daughter we went big with the 6 pounder but as it turned out, it was HUGE(can’t believe I didn’t take a picture). I have never INMYLIFE left even a morsel of lobster on my plate, but I did that night. Well, I finished my half, and I thought I *might* be able to finish what my daughter left, but I just couldn’t. What a shame, because it was so sweet and tasty! We were at a hotel, so we couldn’t take it home. The steak was on point, great flavor, perfectly cooked. Loved the steak. Would order this dish again, but the next time it will be the ONLY thing I order so I can enjoy it fully without feeling stuffed! CHICKENPARMESAN(3.5) My wife’s dish. She wasn’t that impressed, but she wasn’t complaining either. I didn’t even taste since I was fighting my own battles of fullness. Overall, very happy with my experience at Palm. Service was excellent, very helpful and accommodating when it came to getting recommendations. The guy we met on that terrace was right on. We’ll be back – especially for the steak and lobster!

Good but my steak was cooked medium, not medium rare. Thank god we paid extra for the chimichurri sauce.

Been going to the Palm for years at the old location. Love the new location on Canon and not really missing the sawdust on the floor. Bread and butter is always delicious. Drinks are well poured here. Nice wine selections as well. Start with the crab cakes a must. They are excellent with huge chunks of crab. The sauce is so good. Ceasar or the Gigi salad are my favorites. The lobster bisque is good on colder days. My go to place for lobster! Steamed perfect! Served with drawn butter. Yum Sides: Always like creamed spinach or baked potato. Au gratin potatoes are my favorite! So full had to skip dessert this trip! The flour less chocolate cake is excellent. Celebrity sightings often here if that’s your thing! Friendly attentive service. Suggest reservations here. Valet parking out front.

We had an amazing waitress, very kind and accommodating. The food was excellent as well as the ambience. Loved the décor too. 14 ounce New York Strip was prepared to perfection. The sides of hash and green beans were also delicious. Highly recommend a bottle of The Prisoner to accompany your meal.

After reading an article in People magazine about The Palm, we knew we wanted to try it during our trip. Overall the experience was ok, but we eat at a lot of steakhouses and I just felt it didn’t stack up to some of the others in certain aspects. We had a 7:15pm reservation and used the valet out front. We were seated right away in their main dining room. Our server was FANTASTIC, I will say that. He was so friendly, so helpful and just really nice. My brother commented that he wished he could serve us all our meals! The bread basket had 2 types of bread in it and was good. My mom and I split the wedge, and they separated it for us in the back. It was still huge! My main complaint was that the dressing was more of a vinaigrette and less like bleu cheese which is the whole point of a wedge. My brother started with the shrimp cocktail and felt the shrimp were a little on the small side. In terms of entrees, my mom had the veal parmesan which was a HUGE portion. I mean huge. That is a dish that would normally come with pasta, but it does not here. Likely because the portion is so big. My brother and I both had the steaks. None of the sides really looked all that appetizing, but we went for the half and half which is half onion straws and half potato chips. It doesn’t come with a sauce and I felt like it definitely needed something so we asked for ranch on the side which helped. For dessert I had their flourless chocolate cake, which was good but very rich. My brother had their donuts which were fantastic. They come in a paper bag and the server shakes them out onto the plate that has 2 different dipping sauces. We even ended up taking an order of the donuts back for my husband, who wasn’t at dinner. Overall, I would say it was just an alright dining experience. The steaks were great and cooked to our liking, but the starters and sides aren’t as good as other places we’ve eaten at, such as Mastro’s or Chicago Cut. They also have a dining club you can join which apparently gets you deals throughout the year. I will say, a lot of people seemed to be having their lobster and it looked REALLY good. They even give you a cute little bib to wear!

Last night this Palm Restaurant was abuzz, packed to the gills and teaming with the Hollywood power players two nights after The Oscars. So this updated review will hurt them about as much as a gnat flying in your car with the windows rolled up — not very much at all: The Palm I knew and loved for so many years is gone. I mean vanished. My first reviewed experience here was sad, this review makes me sadder. From my warm caesar salad to my limp Chef Borardee’ish veal parmigian this dinner was like diner food in Perryville, Arkansas. My wine came to me with a large lipstick smudge on it and was quickly sent back for a replacement. The noise level was at «scream at your table mates» level, and it is expensive for what you are getting. I’m going to let this visit be my last. An institution… A brand, I knew and loved for so many years is now a ticker tape call letter on the stock exchange. I’m sure this is not what Wally or Gigi could have ever imagined could have happened to the beloved restaurant!

I made a reservation to celebrate my wife’s birthday on Friday evening Feb 12th. I said that we were coming to take advantage of the 837 special king crab dinner. No problem see you on Friday they said. However after we were seated the waiter very matter of factly said that the crab leg special wasn’t available and would not be for the entire weekend. I wanted to leave but it was late so we stayed. I felt like we were victims of the old«bait & switch» routine. She should have been offered a alternative entrée like the 3 lb lobster at the same price. I don’t expect this kind of indifference from a quality restaurant like the Palm where we have been loyal 837 members for over 15 years. We won’t be back for a while, too many great steak houses now available in Beverly HIlls where they appreciate your business.

We had a really late work Christmas dinner on a Thursday night in Feb. We ordered the crab cakes, Lobster Bisque, Shrimp Cocktail, and Bacon wrapped scallops for appetizer. Main course Prime New York strip 14oz, Chicken Parmigiana, Filet Mignon, and Branzino. Tiramisu, Chocolate Cake, and Crème Brûlée for dessert., and order cocktails… Yes! This place is fancy… But the food is mediocre at best. I didn’t think it was anything special… when I ordered the New York strip, it came out alone on a big ass plate… You have to order all your side dishes separately $ 17ea side(Brussels Sprouts)… It was minimalist, and not in a good way. This was my first time and probably last time to Palm.

Never as good as original. Forgot to dress salad, did not cook Brussel sprouts as ordered, and Chilean sea bass was overcooked. 30,000 +++ points and I think I’ll pass and head to Wolfgangs from now on. Downtown location still has old vibe. This location has no mojo.

This restaurant is located in the heart of Beverly Hills just a couple doors down from my office on Canon Dr. This street should be renamed restaurant row. Since its is lined with top restaurants. We had no reservations but the hostess was very accommodating we got seated immediately. We had a really nice table located near the bar next to window. Once we were seated we were greeted immediately by the waiter and were handed menus. Shortly after we had a waitress come by who immediately notice I was wearing black pant and offered a black napkin. It’s those little thing that make a restaurant great. I ordered the steak salad and my friend ordered the Cajun chicken salad. The steak was cooked to perfection. Medium rare. Yum. I do wish the was more salad on the plate. For desert I had mixed berries. The fruit was sweet and fresh. Perfect for the weather we are having. I will definitely eat here on a regular basis.

Sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of glasses of Educated Guess red wine(fairly priced). They offer a heck of a wine by the bottle list too. Great ambiance in the place. Fairly dark inside too. I had a shrimp con tail which was solid for $ 22 and a Monday night salad(we sent back because it was mushy) replaced with a delicious wedge salad. I then topped off the meal with a chicken parmigiana which was excellent. I will go back for a steak in the next few weeks.

We have been going to The Palm for years. We use to go to the one in West Hollywood and the Bartender there was a jerk and we refused to go back — at least I did. I was so happy when they opened the one downtown — we love it!!! We moved out of state a few weeks ago and when we came back My husband and I wanted to take my sister and her husband somewhere nice as a «Thank You» for letting us stay with them. My sisters husband had never been to the Palm because he loves Mastros. I really really hate Beverly Hills restaurants but my husband convinced me to try the new Palm. It doesn’t have the same feeling as the one downtown — but considering we got in early Saturday night we didn’t have to deal with all the«Fake-O’s» and idiot bimbos with 60 year old men. The service was amazing of course — the food wasn’t as good as downtowns but it was still great! I’m sure it’s only because they are fairly new. Don’t expect to get out of there for under $ 300 for 4 people but trust me it will be money well spent! Oh — don’t forget to have the Key Lime Pie! I’ll miss you Palm until next trip back!

After four decades, the famous restaurant’s now in a swanky Hills spot. All the better for deal making and power lunching perhaps? Gone is a good old Happy Hour though. Best way to find out is stand directly outside the establishment and call. Because walking in the Palm to ask is krazy gauche. Slick new digs show-case a private dining room, and the main space looks fantastic. But… is anyone nostalgic for the one on Santa Monica? It didn’t feel chi-chi at all when sitting at the bar– even kind of dive-y up front with wide-screen TV blaring sports. Walls and ceiling, densely filled with caricatures of the notable/notorious, lent a kitschey kazh vibe. A few drawings made the move here and are discreetly displayed. Lobster sliders are fine if you’re peck-ish. Mild mixture stuffed in three little buns had the consistency of a dip. Creamy and comforting but not particularly memorable in seasoning. More lobstah meat in the filling would be nice. Bartender did not stint on liquor. Myers’s and diet Coke was rum rum yummy, bestowing me a solid buzz going forth for the evening. Thank goodness had only one drank or I might have slumped right off the chair. And that would have been a predicament as my friend did not have time to baby-sit. R.I.P. «Prime Time Bites» at WeHo and dtLA Palm; half-price eats and discounted drinks(Sam Adams not a bad deal at three bones). Happy Hour meant even some of us jane blows could hang at the Palm on the reg. At this grand re-opened venue, it’s not as likely. Maybe I’ll sneak in through the service door just for kicks next time.

I anticipated higher cost but not as high as the Palm charges. The beef is average. The mash potatoes were bland. Desserts were average at best . Service was good. But cost of dining was exhorbitant… even by BH standards ! Going to Lawrys or Ruth Chris’s far less costly and just as,?or even, tastier cuisine. This is the first restaurant that I’ve been to that doesn’t comp a slice of birthday cake even when 4 other desserts were ordered . Not planning to return. They seemed quite busy, even on a Monday … Guess for many, this place is not what it was to us !

Awesome steaks. Great service. Vast Wine list. What else do you need to ask for? They tend to not cook the steaks enough. So if you like medium rare, then order medium. Don’t forget that the entrees don’t come with anything. So order one of the sides. Servings are large. Mmmmm. Will come again.

Palm has been around LA in different locations since 1926. Just a classic joint serving classic food. I’ve had everything from the fish, steak to veal parm. Everything is well made and has a consistency you can always rely on. The service is attentive and polite which is what you would expect from a place like this. However, the food here is not daring or different from any other place around town. Sometimes that’s not a bad thing. Palm’s is definitely on the pricey side in my opinion for the kind of food they serve. Worth checking out. You many even see a few celebs dining if that’s your thing.

I really like coming here usually for lunch. Dinner is good but I end up ordering steak and lobster. The lobster is great. But there are better steaks in the city. I really like coming here for lunch. They have great salads. The steak salad is very good with a nice New York on top. The shrimp salad is also very good. They have a great salmon entrée which is cooked perfectly and a nice portion. The bison burger is great. The crab cakes are a bit to creamy for me. The staff is very personable.

What a great experience it was at Palm. We went on a Friday night and I’m glad it wasn’t too crazy. We made reservations, but even then it seems that there was plenty of seating. We were seated right away near the bar. I ordered an iced tea to start, and bread was brought to our table right away. Delicious bread! Even better with all that butter on it. Our appetiser was the Calamari Fritti. It’s a must try item if you’re here. Great Calamari, but not my favourite dipping sauce. After this we had the West Coast Gigi salad. Another must try item. It was highly recommended by some friends. We ordered the Hash Browns as a side, but it was a bad idea. Not sure how that pile of potatoes were actually meant to be served. No taste, or salt, just straight up dry & burnt. So ya, don’t order the Hash Browns. Finished off our night with the ribeye and lobster. This was the highlight of my dinner. The ribeye was so juicy and tender, cooked medium. Such a great overall experience. Melissa was our waitress. Such a funny and friendly person. Loved her personality. Valet parking only. Not sure what the prices are. We took an über over from the house.

This is the second year that I have received the special for the lobster deal at The Palm. Last year I could not go because unfortunately couldn’t find anybody who liked lobster like me. This year. I found charming company who actually likes lobster. Score! The dining room is actually very nice. Tables are well spaced… Service is impeccable. Deal provides: — salad or soup(unfortunately didn’t think the lobster bisque was that good. Yes I know, go big or go home) — four pound lobster split into two. An additional pound is another $ 15 which we ended up doing. Lobster tastes good. Not the best I’ve ever had but not bad. — one side. We got two. Creamed spinach was good. Standard. Mashed potatoes were just okay. — I can’t even recall the dessert. Think it was just chocolate something. I’m not a sweets person though. I’d go again because it was a pleasant dining experience… But it’s not the best food. I haven’t had the steak in a long time but it’s also a steakhouse.

My husband and I were treated to a lovely dinner here this weekend. We arrived on time for a 7:30 reservation and we’re seated promptly at one of the little booths aligning the bar. The palm is your quintessential American steakhouse. After losing their lease at the West Hollywood location they’ve moved to this Canon Dr., Beverly Hills spot. We noticed that they removed artwork from the walls, literally pieces of the wall, and brought them to this new home. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. We started with the clams casino and fried calamari and a special bottle of Stags Leap Napa cab. The bread basket came out warm and the raisin bread was hard to resist. The calamari were perfectly fried and tender on the inside. The old-school dipping sauce scooped up nicely and small pieces of fried onion added to twist to this dish that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately I did not love the clams casino. I was envisioning more of a Rockefeller style and instead they had a chunk of bacon with a bit of white wine sauce. For means we shared the crabcakes and the organic butcher’s cut of the day, which happened to be a 9 ounce filet mignon. The crabcakes were excellent. Huge chunks of Maine crabmeat we’re baked together and came with a mango salsa and an aioli. The filet was tender and flavorful, a great piece of meat. I love that they offer organic meat. For sides we shared the creamed spinach and mushrooms. The mushrooms were a little bland but better when we added a bit of salt and pepper. The cream spinach was decadent and delightful. We were so full that we skipped dessert. Overall, a great addition to the Beverly Hills dining scene and a restaurant that feels like it’s been here for years.

I have been going to the Palm for years. New location … not the same. The location is great and the staff was attentive and friendly. The food on the other hand is nothing special. The caesar salad had enough dressing for two salads. The sides had little flavor and were boring. The steak was the best part of the meal but for $ 50 it should be amazing. The restaurant was full. But it wasn’t the old Palm… Im hoping it is still working its kinks out from the move and will be back to its old quality soon.

Based on the name, location, and prices I expected a lot more from the Palm. I came here for lunch with a large group of colleages, and they sat us in a semi-private room near the front of the restaurant. We spotted a celeb as we walked in and the service was decent considering there were so many of us. My steak sandwich, however, was average at best — not a lot of flavor and a little dry. ND agreed and wasn’t wowed by his sandwich either. The sides almost made up for it, but at these prices that’s not enough. There’s also not a lot of ambiance here, or maybe just not my type of ambiance. If you want to go to the Palm, I’d suggest the one Downtown near Staples Center over this location.

As you probably know, Palm Restaurant is set up as a classic New York steakhouse. Even if you’ve never been to Palm before, the look and feel of the place, as well as the menu, will seem familiar. The one surprise — a good one — is that our server wasn’t at all stuffy. She was friendly and accommodating, and she helped us make good choices. We started with the fried calamari($ 13). The calamari were very good, and there was a lot for the five of us to share. This was a good way to begin the meal. Next, three of us split two caesar salads. I’d give the caesar an A-; it was perfectly good, but didn’t send me to caesar heaven. I had a taste of the jumbo shrimp cocktail — the shrimp were enormous(and also very good!). Then we went for the Big Meat. As far as I can tell, any steak order at Palm will be enough for two normal people to share. My Dad and I split an order of the bone-in prime rib, which was one of the daily specials. Members of a collegiate crew team could eat one of those prime ribs unaided. The two of us made a big dent in what was served, but we still had some to take home. I was mildly surprised that nothing like a cream sauce or horseradish sauce was offered when the prime rib came out. Had I had something to smear on my meat, I might have consumed a few more grams of it. Sides: our table got the sautéed spinach leaves and the hashed brown potatoes. Here, too, the orders were very large. The hashed browns were exceptionally delicious; the spinach was only so-so. Some wine came to the table: the Markham merlot and the Duckhorn sauvignon blanc. I liked both of them and was glad to have tasted them. Instead of drinking wine, I went for a bottle of beer — He’Brew Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A. by the Shmaltz Brewing Company. I recommend this beer very highly! Palm delivered, but you have to be in the right mood for a meal like this. I couldn’t come very often.

Having worked before in the trenches of the food and beverage industry for the better part of a decade, I think I have an inherent bias towards giving restaurants the benefit of the doubt. So it’s pretty rare for me to write up a hatchet-piece review on an eatery unless I have a pretty substantive reason for doing so. Equally odd(and telling) in this negative review is the fact that I am a big fan of the Palm Restaurant — having been a long time patron and member of the 837 Club(their frequent diner program) for many years. Here’s some distressing details on the take out order I placed for lunch today: 1. Like many who work in Beverly Hills, I get a very limited amount of time for my lunch break before I have to go back to work kowtowing to the bigwigs who run this town. As such, it’s important to me to maximize my lunchtime: hence, I called in to the restaurant 20 minutes before they opened and placed an order over the phone with what I presume to be the hostess. We then agreed on a pick-up time of their opening hour, 11:30 which I promptly kept in direct opposition to the generally«Korean-time» practiced by most of my countrymen. So imagine my consternation, dear readers, when I was directed to the bar and received my order at 11:47. Why bother calling an order in if I could’ve gotten it in the same time as just placing it in-house? 17 minutes doesn’t seem like a lot of time to some people, but when you’re dealing with wealthy/irate clients at a maddening clip throughout the day, it’s nice to know that you can watch an additional episode of Adventuretime in the break room before stumbling back to your desk to be subjected to personal attacks veiled under the guise of professional negotiating. 2. I rarely take pictures of food, but I felt an obligation to show you — dear readers — the portion sizing of my «jicama slaw» in pictures 5 and 6. To clarify, what you see is the totality of my portion of slaw that I received in my to-go order, not the remnants of my food after I ate it. From my perspective that has got to be, what… more or less an ounce of julienned jicama and carrots in a sweet mayonnaise base at a rough estimated rough food cost of $ 0.07. I mean, what’s the point of even offering that as a «side» if you have the choice of French fries or seasonal fruit? And if I had ordered those other options, what would I have gotten? 1 regular steak fry and one of those crispy guys you get at the bottom of a McDonald’s pomme frites container? 2 quarter sized chunks of pineapple? The fact that the slaw wasn’t separated in one of those tiny little ramekins leads me to further conclude that this was indeed designated as a «side» instead of a «garnish». $ 17 is a decent chunk of change for a hamburger. I understand it’s a high rent area, but even in Beverly Hills, management and/or kitchen staff should probably reassess the presentation of the dish. It’s pretty much an affront to any diner looking to get any type of «value» — whether real or implied — from this meal. TLDR Summary: Yeah, so the two issues above kind of have me miffed and I might just show up to the DTLA location for a bit until kinks are worked out here. Having said that, the burger was juicy and oddly enough they added a couple of rolls and salted butter to the order. This I thought was oddly generous, especially given the niggardly portion of the aforementioned cole slaw, but perhaps I just caught them on a bad day, or too early in their move to this new location. I’ll try reassessing sometime in 2015.
