Being from new england, I felt like the southern perception of new England was a bit off. I got the new England favorite for breakfast and it was more like Denny’s than it was a new England breakfast. The prices were very reasonable but the food was really just what you would expect. Nothing was overly exciting or special. The décor was a bit strange too because I lived in Connecticut for most of my life and it really didn’t strike me as being similar at all to any diners I’ve ever been to back then. It just sort of came off as someone branding regular food as being a new England thing. The 3 stars comes mainly from the prices and the amount you get for that price.

Monte Cristo with raspberry sauce was great! Recommendation from the locals… and they didn’t lead us astray. I had sweet tea with lunch and needed a bit more caffeine for traveling. Our waitress brought me a to-go cup of fresh brewed coffee gratis… what customer service! I wish I would have had room for a muffin, they looked delicious…

Nice hometown atmosphere. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Food is good clean fresh and tasty. They always have different soups of the day that are tasty. A great local eatery.

We’ve eaten here several times. I originally gave it 4 stars but I’ve revised it to 2. Depending on what you order the food ranges from good to lousy. The prices are very reasonable and they did take the last meal I ate there off the bill. What was so lousy? I ordered an open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side of coleslaw. How bad was it? The turkey tasted like lunch meat, the mashed potatoes were instant and the gravy probably came from a can. The only thing I was able to eat was the turkey and a bit of the bread. The slaw was definitely a poor commercial grade they buy from a food distributor so it has been fermenting since before it was delivered to them. The service has always been good.
