La Valencia Jewelry

It has been almost 7 years since my husband proposed to me with my engagement ring from La Valencia. It was a beautiful princess cut that he surprised me with while we were vacationing in Hawaii. The ring was not quite the setting I wanted but I did adore the diamond itself. Hormoz, the owner here worked with me tirelessly to make sure I had exactly the setting I loved. He had it changed 3 times and was beyond patient with me. Not many jewelers would go above and beyond the way he did and it was refreshing to see. On my wedding day, that ring was gorgeous and Im sure for the ladies who are particular with their jewelry, you know how great it feels to have exactly what you asked for. I also got my wedding band, a beautiful infinity band from here. I come in from time to time and Hormoz always insists on cleaning my wedding ring for free. Unfortunately my husband recently lost his wedding band, so we are back to replace it with a similar one. As usual, La Valencia jewelry, in particular Hormoz is being the kind professional that he continues to be.

I recently happened upon this antique jewelry shop in Beverly Hills and found a beautiful pair of antique earrings. We decided to buy them but as I was checking out I noticed that a stone was missing. They quickly said that they would fix it and send it to me for free. When I received the package the earrings were stolen out of the package. When we called the store to have them go to the post office and file a claim and refund us they refused! They have HORRIBLE customer service and they can expect me NEVER to return!

When I turned 30 (too long ago to mention the exact time), my bf wanted to find a ring setting for a beautiful sapphire he owned, and give it to me for my birthday, so we headed downtown to the jewelry mart and looked at hundreds of settings. We saw lots of beautiful ones that we thought we’d keep in mind, but then we came upon one and we both zeroed in on it immediately and knew without any question that it was «the one,» such was the difference in beauty, uniqueness and quality from everything else we’d seen. The booth belonged to a gentleman by the name of Hormoz, and he did such an amazing job with that ring that we kept in touch with him during all the ensuing years. Whenever my bf wanted to give me a gorgeous gift, he’d turn to Hormoz. As a result, I’ve been unbelievably lucky to have amassed a collection of priceless jewelry that is the envy of all who see it. All these years later, he’s still my bf (thankfully!) and I just had another birthday yesterday (won’t mention the number). I nearly passed out when he presented me with another masterpiece from Hormoz, who is now the head jeweler at this beautiful jewel of a shop in Beverly Hills, which resembles something you might find at Versailles. This time he really outdid himself and presented me with a somewhat smaller version of the unimaginably gorgeous emerald earrings Angelina wore to the Oscars several years ago, which no one who ever laid eyes on could ever forget. I screamed so loud that my poor kitties went running for cover, and basically I haven’t stopped screaming since. Today I was speaking to a client at my work, and she stopped mid-​sentence to say «your earrings are killing me! They are so gorgeous!!»
Hormoz is truly a master craftsman. If you ever need anything made, the quality of his handiwork is truly unsurpassed. Even more importantly, he and Cyrus (the owner) and the other gentleman who works with them are extremely courteous, super helpful and ethical gentlemen, something very rarely found in today’s retail environment. Their prices are incredibly fair. Not only do they custom make whatever your heart desires, but the pieces they have in their shop are about as beautiful as it gets. Last time I stepped foot in there, I particularly coveted a stunning diamond and onyx deco bracelet, which even rivals my Angie earrings (well, almost! Mine are still the best thing ever :-)). If you are looking for either a custom piece made at the most reasonable price imaginable by the best craftsman possible, or a uniquely beautiful estate piece, do yourself a huge favor and go to La Valencia. You’ll be as happy as I’ve been for XX years :-).
