A fantastic salon to have an intimate salon party with your friends. Food, champagne, pampering, stacks of magazines, and a room full of stylists who know just how to make you beautiful. Highly recommend Goldie and the Drop Dead Gorgeous Salon to get the job done right and have a great time while you do it.

I don’t live in California but every time I come to Los Angeles, I make sure to come see Goldie. Words cannot express how I feel once she’s done working her magic. Drop Dead Gorgeous gives you the experience of a lifetime. Thank you for always treating like celebrity :-)

Goldie has been doing my hair for 13 plus years. She’s cutting edge, daring and knowledgeable about all kinds of hair. As a person of mixed ethnicity it’s been hard to find someone who knows how to handle all this hair. She is THE only one I trust with my hair. She also makes her own leave-in conditioner that I call hair crack. I can’t be without it. It’s vegan, all natural and I swear by it. She has great energy. She’s passionate about all things related to beauty /hair and worth every penny. If you didn’t know, now you do! I always leave feeling drop dead gorgeous.

I know this is my first review so it will most likely be flagged, but PLEASEREAD! I made an appointment to have my makeup done with Goldie a few months back as I was attending a dinner service for the television show, «Hell’s Kitchen.» In an attempt to look somewhat presentable on camera, I went to Blo and got my hair done a few doors down before my appointment with Goldie(Blo is fantastic, BTW). Let me preface this by saying that I made the appointment in advance and gave Goldie my cell number. I told her that I needed my makeup done and was quoted a price of $ 80 which I thought to be reasonable for a salon on Beverly Dr. I arrived about 15 minutes early in case she needed me to fill out any paperwork or give me a consultation. Not only was she not in the salon, she didn’t call me to tell me she was running late either. I get that emergencies happen(she said she needed to take her daughter to the ER, which I seriously doubt), so she should have called me… that’s why I gave her my number. The nice tailor down the hall heard me knocking and offered to call her cell phone for me. She instructed him to let me in her salon whilst I wait for her. Keep in mind that I had some serious time limitations… she arrived 15 minutes late and I was already a little peeved because it took her another 10 to set up. I told her that I was going to be on camera and needed makeup that looked natural, but that wouldn’t wash me out under studio lighting. She said she had worked in TV, so I assumed she had the correct products to work with. She started off by putting a discontinued Neutrogena sunscreen ONMYLIPS! I’m down with secret beauty tricks, but come on… I haven’t seen that sunscreen since before my parents’ divorce in ’06! Now here’s where it gets bad… I don’t have pristine skin. My fingers usually find their way to my face while I’m doing other things… it sucks; I need makeup; I’m dealing with it. Because of this, I need full coverage concealer and usually a liquid foundation to even my skin out. Goldie tried to be nice about it, but told me I should start eating gluten free if I wanted my skin to get better(thanks, doc!). The funny thing is, her skin was almost as bad as her platinum weave(which was matted and tangled at her lower back). She literally swiped some old MAC powder on my face and that was it for foundation. If I’m going through the trouble of getting my makeup done, I’m expecting a little expertly mixed, color matched Kryolan or something! She put this disgusting orangey eye shadow on me, pink blush and frosted pink lipstick! Worst of all, you could still see dark marks on my cheeks which were made more apparent by the pink blush. At that point I just wanted to get the hell out of there and fix it myself! Here’s the kicker… when asked to pay, I was told that it would normally be $ 80 but since Goldie is the head stylist(or instructor… whatever), I owed $ 150 for some gross old power and fake spider lashes. I didn’t have the time or energy to argue this horrific bait-and-switch and just paid the eff up so I could get out of there! I rubbed off most of the eye makeup and had to put my foundation over her«work» in order to look normal again. Sorry for the long(and late) review, but I keep thinking about this service and want to cry at the fact that I dropped $ 150 on a service which was truly subpar. Get your makeup done elsewhere…

I love getting my blow dry’s at Drop Dead Gorgeous, because it last’s for a long time. First off her shampoo’s are amazing. She gets your hair super duper clean and conditions it, and gives you a little head massage too! I highly recommend Goldie and I’m super picky with my hair. Book your appointment NOW you wont be disappointed! Thank you Goldie, for making me Drop Dead Gorgeous!

I lived in LA for years prior to me meeting Goldie and was cutting my own hair in the interim(as I did not trust ANYONE to do it except for my previous stylist in San Francisco). A great friend raved about Goldie and so I hesitantly made an appointment. She took me from Morticia Addams black and drab into the ash brown color of my dreams. She was very patient with me and listened to all of my needs. I was never the girl to get compliments on my hair until I met her. Her and her staff helped my bridesmaids and I at my wedding and everyone looked absolutely amazing. I highly recommend DDG and Goldie! She is as good as it gets!

I’ve been going to Goldie for about 8 years now. The experience has always been great because she is attentive and meticulous. She selects the type of music you love listening to while getting pampered, serves you a cold beverage and snacks if you want. I believe her favorite type of advertising is word of mouth, so she puts great effort and care into what you like. Her prices are just right, i would honestly not believe the previous post about prices. I have recommended a few friends and they have loved it and gone back repeatedly. Long story short, i get a lot of compliments after leaving DDG and no compliments when i get a haircut anywhere else. I think she is worth a visit and then decide for yourself. Thanks Goldie!

I met Goldie almost a year ago when I moved to LA from NYC where I had the same stylist for 10 years. Not only was she patient with me, she earned my trust. She wants your best to shine through from head to toe. Not only is this salon able to transform your hair, you can also get your eyebrows threaded, a manicure, pedicure and a facial. I also can not forget to mention the amazing make-up application. I would recommend and do recommend her to my friends.

I was referred to Goldie a year ago by a woman with the best naturally curly afro! So I knew right off that I could trust her. The vibe in her shop is intimate and personal. I have always walked out of her shop with a smile on my face and plenty of positive energy. She is willing to learn about your personality and how you like your hair. She educates on your hair and uses the best products. I have had so many compliment on my hair, not to mention the photo shoots and makeup she has done for me that have been FANTASTIC!

Great spa experience at Drop Dead Gorgeous in BH. Amazing cut and attention to detail. Fun, hip style and a beautiful light-filled space. Jammed for Grammy night and MTV Awards but the red carpet crowd won’t be keeping this place secret for long. Highly recommend. Gary Tigerman

Drop Dead Gorgeous has a very exclusive feel which I Love! The hair products are amazing, vegan, and cruelty-free. I have very long thick hair, that use to be fried and completely unmanageable, but Goldie has made it strong, healthy, and super shiny! No other stylist has been able to care for my hair, while Goldie has literally worked miracles! The head and neck massage alone are worth the visit, then I also leave with camera-ready hair. Whatever your hair type, you will be taken care of here, you’re in great hands with Scott and Goldie.

I should have realized when this salon had no reviews to STAYAWAY… I entered and knew I should have ran the other way immediately! I went in for a consutation with«Goldie» now I’m not 100% sure but it looked like she had not brushed her hair/wig in weeks, but me thinking. Give her a chance I stayed. Well let’s keep it short. She was rude, uneducated and confrontational and the salon is nothing more then a rented room. It should be closed down and as for the so called owner Scott or the vegan products used… Maybe they were hiding under that wig.
