Friendly service in a old timey style. Very local flavor, very inexpensive pricing. Good coffee, OK orange juice but very good eggs and breakfast meats. Needs a bit of remodeling which could bring it to five stars as a breakfast /lunch joint. Look out for the devoted and friendly owners who always give a warm welcome to their place.

Walked down for breakfast on a Saturday morning for our first time there, absolutely loved it! Food was great and very reasonable. The Greek breakfast gyro is amazing.

Ok so I know people love this place, but I just don’t get it. It’s average diner breakfast food, absolutely nothing special about it. Our server whose name I can’t recall was the best part about our experience, she was very friendly. It is very tiny inside and your food is served on plastic plates. We both ordered bacon and eggs with homefries. I must stay the bacon was great but the homefries were kind of bland and the rye toast was terrible. I just don’t understand how people can say this is their favorite breakfast joint with so many other local options. Be aware that they don’t give you a check, so if you’re sitting and waiting for it and ready to leave, just walk up to the register. They do not take credit cards so bring cash and street parking on Broad street is meters so bring change!

This is one of my brother’s favorite places to have breakfast so we decided to check it out while in town visiting. Its a Small local business that obviously has its regulars and I can see why. The staff is friendly and within a few minutes she was at our table to get us coffee and take our order. They keep the menu hanging on a hook on the wall at the table so you can get a jump on deciding so that’s helpful. We ordered a typical breakfast which came out pretty quick and was very tasty. The waitress came over several times to offer refills and to see if everything was okay, so they don’t just cater to the regulars. It’s a clean and quaint business with great service and tasty food that I will enjoy visiting again.

The Mayflower is a «throwback» Greek diner located in West Bethlehem. The décor is dated, there is counter service, and the entire environment is very welcoming. We stopped into the Mayflower for a late breakfast /lunch. Overall the environment is very clean, the service is prompt, and the food is affordable while also remaining quality for a breakfast /lunch location. Our order consisted of a homemade Greek yogurt, fruit cup, BLT/fries, and a cup of Italian Wedding Soup. Each of the items was well prepared, served quickly, and we were pleased with each offering. Essentially, the Mayflower is a neat diner that satisfies a need for quick service, high quality, affordable breakfast and lunch food the Mayflower is a great spot to check out.

I have been going to the Mayflower for over 12 years. Can’t find nicer people and the food is great. This is one of West Bethlehem’s treasured locations.

True local gem of the West Side. Staff is very friendly and service quick. Food is very good and reasonable. Inside is cozy(small) with booths and counter stools.

I stopped in for a burger and a shake with my daughter a few weeks ago. It was exactly what you’d expect: decent greasy spoon place. It was bright and clean inside, though, which you might not expect. The staff was very friendly. I could definitely see this place growing on me with future visits, as I figure out just what they do best. Nothing wrong with those burgers and fries, though.

I try to start off my Saturday mornings by taking my 7 year-old to the Mayflower for breakfast. It is one of the most welcoming places I’ve ever been and I hope it will always be a happy part of my daughter’s childhood memories. And to top it all off, the food is good. Not only the standard diner dishes, but the home-made Greek yogurt is AMAZING. And I never thought I’d taste rice pudding better than my grandmother’s, but they’ve got it here. And the sweetest treat of all is seeing the owner’s baby when he makes his rounds. Good food, great staff, reasonable prices — what are you waiting for? Stop in for breakfast or lunch soon.(I betcha they’ll know your name after one visit.)

Having passed this place a million times, but never stopped in, I decided to give this place a shot. Am I glad I did. I’ll be honest; I always thought the Mayflower looked like it would be greasy and smoke filmed on the inside. Probably something to do with its former gray painted exterior, and the fact that it is located in the middle of a business/residential block. It’s not. It’s clean. Really clean. They have a pretty decent sized menu, and Tuesdays are«Greek» Tuesday’s– where they offer up all sorts of great Greek foods.(I was there on a Saturday, but judging from my experience, I very much plan to return). I had a feta/spinach omelette. The spinach tasted fresh, not frozen. The feta was just the perfect amount-not too overwhelming in ratio to the onion, spinach, egg. The homefries, as someone mentioned previously, we’re fantastic. Crispy on the outside, smooth on the inside, with not a lot of oil. Our server, possibly the owner’s daughter(?), was friendly and attentive. My friend got the rice pudding. I recommend it. This place is only a few blocks from Billy’s downtown diner. Having seen how that business has changed over the years to become a much more«commercial» venture, I would not hesitate to tell anyone to go to The Mayflower instead. It’s an old school joint that doesn’t seem to be around much anymore, and that’s a shame. No pretense, no «hipster» vibe. Just the real deal. Why only 4 out of 5 stars? Because I plan to go back for Greek lunch Tuesday. After I’ve tried that, I’ll reassess. I’m feeling pretty positive about it, though. Oh! Someone told me that they are a Cash Only establishment. I honestly didn’t pay attention when I was checking out, since I did pay cash, but you may want to verify before you go.

I came here for breakfast once and I was impressed. The omelets were really hearty and the homefries were perfect. Is it really that hard for restaurants to get that homefries are to be crispy and not a soggy mess on your plate? At least I can add Mayflower Lunch to the«Does not abuse breakfast potatoes» list. Prices are cheap. Service is good. Wish this place was next to Lehigh’s campus. It’s like the Blue Anchor before they sold out. Bring cash and a big appetite.

As a local that likes to support local business I feel the need to first and foremost review Mayflower and secondly refute the«review» from Traci G. that is chock full of factual inaccuracies. I can’t speak so much for lunch as maybe I’ve been there twice for lunch in the past two plus years but for breakfast I’ve been easily fifty or sixty times and the food other than once has never been anything but excellent. I’ve had one bad experience with the food that the owner quickly and apologetically fixed. The«mystery vault» is simply him going to get a fresh batch of batter that either his mother or wife just made fresh that morning or within the hour.(Duh) Yes the service is sometimes slow due to only having one person taking orders and delivering the food but in the time I’ve been going there I’ve never waited twelve minutes or more for anything, food included. To say that just sounds like a gross exaggeration of the truth. The rest of Traci’s review is nothing more than just useless hot air that should be ignored. While whatever they are doing at the Mayflower may have«offended» her based on the amount of business that is routinely there, the rest of free world doesn’t seem to have such«issues». The Mayflower is a great place to get in/get out quickly while having a good meal that is very reasonably priced. Anything to the contrary is no more than a lie. (One little addendum that is worth mentioning. Be careful about the pricing as Bill loves to charge you for things that you didn’t order. He assumes that everyone orders coffee with breakfast and if you only order part of a platter he will try to charge you for the entire thing.)

Tasty, quick & friendly! What more could you ask for from a neighborhood diner? I’ve only been for breakfast so far, but do appreciate that if you friend them on Facebook you get updates about lunch specials — I’ll be tempted to go sooner or later, for sure! They also have a great selection of Greek food on Tuesdays and offer some veggie and(surprisingly!) vegan soup selections, which you’d assume a place that doesn’t specialize in that type of fare would think to make.

This is a greasy spoon eating at its best. Really cheap food, retro seating and interesting décor make for a nice little hole in the wall. It’s run by a greek family and service is friendly and prompt. Nice mix of people there for lunch on a Friday afternoon including suits, peeps with tatts and piercings and neighborhood folk. I got a tuna melt — incredibly cheap at under $ 4. Fries were an extra 2 bucks or so. I would suspect that this place serves a mean and inexpensive breakfast(and that is somewhat confirmed by the reviews on here). I would come back if I’m in the neighborhood. UPDATE: Many Greek favorites are served here — but you won’t find it on the menu. Ask. Tuesdays are Greek days and have even more options. Go!

My office is across the street from this place, and it’s the default lunch setting when my colleagues and I gather from far off customer sites. This place is a real deal, old school Bethlehem, lunch counter, and the food is great. Breakfast is always solid, and the daily specials taste like they’re homemade just for you. Good stuff all around. In true Greek diner fashion, there are quality Greek items to be found too — gyros are quite good, as are the specials when available. Baklava was excellent. They’re only open for breakfast and lunch. Worth a stop for a quality diner breakfast or a lunchtime blast from working-class Bethlehem past.

I live right around the corner from this awesome, incredibly cheap joint. I’ve only been for breakfast so far, but WOW what a breakfast, especially considering it cost ten bucks… For two people! It’s small inside, and it isn’t a hipster-chic sort of old and greasy, it’s all about good cheap quick food. I can’t wait to hit it for lunch. Oh yeah, there’s even scrapple(galore) if you’re brave. Personally, I’ll stick to bacon, thanks.

This is the first business where it was implied I leave because of my review on Unilocal. If you read my original review I gave the business 4 out of 5 stars. I don’t consider that a bad review… I did have one caveat, the wait staff is not what it used to be and the service is below par. Other than that, it STILLGOT4STARS because of the excellent food quality. Today, August 26, I went in for lunch with a friend. The waitress told me that she read the«great things I had to say about her» said in the utmost sarcasm. I told her honestly that I did not like the service and I go there for the great food. Instead of asking me why I didn’t like the service and trying to resolve the reasons why I don’t like the service, she took great offense and said: «so you only come here for the cheeseburgers and fries?» I said«yes!» I mean I go there for other food as well… Then some other words were exchanged and I said I don’t have to eat here and she said«fine!» she took back the menus and we left. She still doesn’t get it… I gave a glowing review and tell everyone about the place and I get asked to leave? How thick is this woman’s skull? She obviously has no clue about how to run a business.

Used to come here often for breakfast. It’s a cozy little mom/pop brunch restaurant. Generous portions for great prices. They also have great home fries and a delicious western omelette breakfast sandwich. They have since changed owners though and I have yet to try it under the new ownership. This is a 4 star rating for the previous ownership.
