Deiter brothers delivers propane quickly and makes purchasing it easy online — which is a huge convenience. However, they are consistently overpriced — perfect example is, right now they are selling propane on their site for 2.67 a gallon. Fairclough in Newton, NJ is selling propane for 1.95. What gives? Seems to me like they are ripping people off… I was a greenworks customer and I’m getting away from DB as soon as I possibly can. I think I understand why they show up so fast if they’re making this kind of a profit. They’re modeling themselves after amerigas and suburban — that’s what it looks like to me. Get propane somewhere else.

I have had positive experiences with this company in the past. However, recently, they sent someone out that didn’t know how to fix my furnace problem. He worked on the furnace all day, telling me I had contaminated my oil. They finally sent a 2nd technician right before 5 p.m.(because I called and complained that the guy doing my furnace had no clue how to fix my problem) and they got the furnace running and ran out the door(the furnace ran for 5 minutes after they left and then quit again). Before the guy left, I rendered payment for that bill — in excess of $ 400 — but had to schedule another guy to come out. Experienced tech comes out, and fixed my problem(busted oil pump) in about 30 minutes(for another $ 350). This tech said it was an old pump and it died, and made a face when I told him the previous guy was convinced it was contaminated fuel. So, I complained about my service to the VP of Service, because if the first guy had known what he was doing, I’d only be out $ 355, instead of $ 760. Who said, in essence, «You’re wrong, our guy was right, tough noogies.» The straw that broke the camel’s back was that I rendered payment for all bills at the time of service… and they accused me of not paying the bill I contested(the invoice has a credit card number ONIT!) and threatened to send me to the magistrate. This is how you take care of a customer who spent nearly $ 800 with you in three days? I will tell EVERYONE I know to avoid this company. They clearly don’t have a concept of how to properly handle customer issues.

Terrible service? How about NO service. Deiter missed a scheduled, non-emergency service call to my home.(scheduled one week in advance, I should add.) No call from them, no follow-up. I think that deserves one star. You decide.

Terrible service! Had to call several times when a thermostat that they installed malfunctioned. After 5 phone calls I finally got someone to come out and replace it — THEN, they programmed it wrong. My heat was air conditioning and my AC was heat– to my surprise when I turned on my air, it got up to 80 degrees. After 2 more calls someone finally came out and fixed it. The topper…2 weeks later I received a bill for $ 105.02 for LABOR ! When looking for an HVAC company, look past Deiter Brothers!
