This is tragic — Vince and Dominic’s was the best pizza ever(50 stars), by far. Does anybody know if they are going to re-open somewhere else? Thanks,

I posted a rating for past years of great pizza… very sad that V&D has closed… has always been my favorite slice :(

bleah. I still have a stomach ache. I do not understand the glowing reviews for the pizza. I asked for thin crunchy crust — thick as my finger of dense dough. Sweet sweet red sauce, ok toppings. It is sitting like a bunch of lead in my stomach. The reviews by people like C.B. — I do have to wonder if they work for the place. NOWAY is this in the top 50% of pizza in this area — better than domino’s I’ll grant you, but that’s about as far as it goes. Didn’t get the salad, but with little but chunks of iceberg and dressing from a bag(Ken’s) it hardly rates. Admittedly, the slices are impressive for their sheer volume and weight, but unless I am seriously malnourished, I don’t consider that plus. I’d prefer flavor.

This was by far one of the best pizza joints in the US, perhaps maybe even the world and known universe. I have been going to V&D’s since childhood and am deeply saddened by their unfavorable lease dispute with Home Depot. I was fortunate enough to have one of the last slices(unbeknownst to me) and im so glad i went for two slices. The size of the slices were epic, each the length of a mans arm. The oven must have been blessed by Zeus himself to create such consistent slices. The dough was crisp and flavorful. The contrasting toppings were fresh and although i was not a huge fan, they even offered anchovies. I was particularly fond of the pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, or even plain cheese. If anyone knows the owners please let me know if they would sell me the equipment as i would love to keep it going.

Was thinking about Vince & Dominic’s Pizza tonight. I lived in DC/MD a few years back and this place had the best pizza in the WORLD. I sincerely hope this place has not really closed down, as the Unilocal page says it has. Although I no longer live in the DC area, i would def come back here for pizza if I were within ten miles of this place. Some here say the prices are high for a slice — but a slice is so huge, it is enough for two people. I always ordered a slice and brought half of it home. Their salad was delicious too — one half a slice pizza and a salad was enough for lunch or dinner. We had some really good pizza tonight, here in RI, from our favorite Frank & Johns, and I asked my husband for the name of the place in Bethesda where we always got the really good, NY-style pizza and after seven years being away, neither of us could think of the name. I just google’d it and got to this Unilocal page. It says CLOSED. I am truly bummed if it is really close. Oh well, I guess nothing lasts forever. If it is NOT closed, I heartily recommend you go to Vince & Dominics for a slice or for a whole pie — you won’t regret it.

Just found out they closed for good at Friday at 5pm due to a lease disagreement. 1 star because of Home Depot.

The pizza at this place is amazing. I got a pesto pizza with veggies and I cannot rave about it more. The crust is perfect, the pesto is delicious, and the service is impeccable. The wine isn’t half bad either. You can only choose red or white but the portion is generous.

While driving back from Dulles I got caught up in one of our lovely region’s incredible monsooricanes. Ducking off the freeway I remembered this place and saddled up to a large veggie pizza and salad. Worry not, dear reader, I had other people with me to help me finish the pizza. The pizza was very fresh, toppings were generous, and service was incredibly friendly. The salad, while perhaps not the most extravagant salad I have ever had, was certainly crunchy and fresh — none of the toppings tasted canned! The place was clean, and I felt comfortable letting my son walk around. Overall I would heartily recommend this place for either pickup or eating in.

We used to get pizza here regularly about 25 years ago. Then introduced this place to my coworkers and it became the go to place for us to order out pizza from. Then maybe went once in the last ten years or so. Each time I remember the pizza being great but maybe a bit expensive. Haven’t really gone there since mainly due to not being around that area too much anymore. But recently was coming up 495⁄270 and was trying to decide where to have a late lunch. I decided to stop by here hoping to be able to grab a quick slice of pizza and go on my way. The first thing that threw me off was that the prices for a slice of pizza were expensive. Like $ 3.50 for a plain slice and $ 4.50 for one topping. The other thing that was kind of disappointing is that all of the orders are made to order. So there isn’t an option to just grab a slice and the wait is about ten to twenty minutes. Not sure if they have slices available during the rush time. But this can also be viewed as a good thing where the pizza is always freshly made. So after doing the math I thought that the small pizza would be a better value at around $ 15 for one topping and 12 inches. Keep in mind that my math and measuring skills leave a lot to be desired for. While waiting for my pizza and seeing the size of the slices that other people ordered, I realized that I made a mistake of not ordering it by the slice. The slices are HUGE! And most people were eating them with a fork and knife. Then upon receiving my order, I realized that their 12″ pizza is huge as well! I was actually kind of disappointed in the pizza compared to how I remembered it. But I ordered a topping that I normally don’t from there. And the pictures from the other Unilocal reviews match how I remember the pizza here. So will try them again and order by the slice next time. The people here were all nice and friendly as well.

I’ve been going to Vince and Dominic’s for almost 20 years. I agree wholeheartedly that the slices in the store, are outstanding. This is a great place to get a quick one slice lunch, when atmosphere is not necessary. For whatever reason, the pizza here does not seem to travel well. When we have ordered pizza delivered, it’s been ho hum. The gourmet Italian subs though, are outstanding. Excellent meat and cheese on the very best bread around. I don’t know where they get their bread, but it is certainly not where 99% of the pizzerias and sub shops in Bethesda get theirs. The quality of the ingredients is real italian. Delivery service is excellent, and the people who pick up the phone know the food well, and are happy to answer questions.

The service is excellent and the food is always cooked to order! Try the sausage pizza. I follow a loose gluten-free diet and I used to break it eating here once in a while until they started offering gluten-free pizzas & buns for the sandwiches. AWESOME! TRYIT! HUGE8×10″ SIZEDSLICES!

V&D’s has the best pizza in the area but there is a detail that you need to know when you go here. If you order a pie the pizza is above average but if you get a slice it is out of bounds! The slices are huge and double cooked. Amazing! If you order a pie asked to have it cooked like the slices, they will know what you are talking about. I usually get my slice with«Rigawt»(ricotta) and meatballs. I know, I am a Gavone! My kids order their slices with bacon and I have to say it is great. The sandwiches and salads are good but stick with the pizza. It’s awesome.

This place is BAD. But to be more specific, the food, the service, and cleanliness were equally awful. I was pretty pumped for my sandwich, but after opening the packaging, it was nothing but disappointment. Gross meat, stale bread, and oh so small portions. On top of that… SOGGYFRIES! I’ll pass.

This review is solely on the pizza. VD’s is my go to place anytime I need a slice! Closer than going to Adam’s Morgan for jumbo slice. I haven’t tried anything else like the sandwiches or pasta dishes. Can’t beat the lunch special of once slice of pizza and a fountain drink for a little more than $ 5.

We came here for lunch the other day with a coupon(paid $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food/drink). We weren’t in the mood for pizza, so we got the grilled chicken salad and the Sicilian sandwich. I’m glad we had the coupon, because I think full-price would have been kind of high for what we got. The sandwich wasn’t pretty, but it tasted good. The meats were fresh, but a little greasy. The best part was the bread it was served on. The salad was ok — the lettuce was fresh, but there weren’t many other veggies in it and not much chicken, either. I saw some other people eating slices of their pizza and, wow, those slices were huge. I noticed the cheese wasn’t really browned on top, though — it looked like it had only just melted and hadn’t been cooked long enough to really get that nice crust on top. It’s definitely not a glamorous place, either. The tables were clean, but the bathrooms were filthy. I wouldn’t actively avoid this place, but I wouldn’t rush back, either.

I gave this place a 5-star rating. The Pizza business is so demanding and so competitive that if this place has pizza good enough for me to «show-off» to newcomers in the area… the pizza is extraordinary. The caveat is that you have to order the individual slices for their extra CRUNCH thin crust. Pizza pies are still very good and the flavor is VERYFRESH… meaning that the ingredients seem to be from somewhere other than sysco. The sausage, peperoni, and ground beef are amazing. I don’t remember eating anything but the pizza here, although I know that I have ordered something else on the menu. If you’ve never tried this pizza, you need to give yourself that opportunity. I’ve had pizza in several countries now and across the US including New York and Chicago… never came across anything similar yet. Every time I’m in the area, I have a desire to grab a snack slice just because it’s so unique and delicious. I remember eating their pizza for over 30 years now… any mom’n’pop place that survives that long with the same owners needs commendation. They have my vote for a spot in Top 5 pizza in the Baltimore-Washington area.

The décor here is nothing flashy, it’s a true pizza place with tile floors, but their pizza is legit. The whole pizzas and slices are totally different pizza. The slices are enormous and are thrown in the oven so that the crust is nice and crisp. I would say the sausage is probably the best topping out there. You will probably not be able to finish the slice. Props if you do.

Went here last weekend on the fly because we were actually headed to Cheesecake Factory but had to go to the post office near here and I was so hungry that I convinced the family to go here instead because I thought the wait would be too long at TCF. The kids naturally love pizza so they were okay with it but I almost changed my mind when I saw Five Guys in the same plaza but didn’t. Upon arriving there was only one family in the dining area and then several construction workers waiting in line behind us so I figured it would be fast. Kids ordered pizza, hubby ordered a sausage calzone and after letting some other people go ahead of me, I, on a separate ticket ordered the angus burger with L, T, M, O with bacon and cheese and that came with a side waffle fries. THEPROBLEM… the wait. We waited and waited and waited for, I kid you not, at least 30 minutes for our order to come up. I was so disappointed because I think we may have been seated already at CF and at least had some bread to munch on. Here I was, filling up on soda while we waited. Well, I can tell you then that I THOUGHT that I was done with V&D’s and was sure I would never come back… but then my burger and fries were ready and the kiddos and hubby got their food. MY burger was soooo freakin’ good, I was shocked! Juicy, hot, full of flavor and the fries which were actually the seasoned waffle fries with the crispy outside were delightful. I didn’t even dip them in mayo like I usually do. My husband started eating them and I had to smack his hand away. I let him try my burger and I think he was bummed that he didn’t order one because he said his calzone was«okay.» I didn’t try the pizza or the calzone because I wanted to make sure I could stuff my face and belly with my meal and didn’t want to waste any precious space. The kids said the pizza was yummy and it did look good. So I would recommend you go here for the angus burger and waffle fries and don’t forget a birch beer on the side, if the food prep is consistent, you won’t be disappointed. I would give 3.5 stars, taking a half off for the long wait at a time when they were clearly not busy and there were at least four people in the food prep area. I will return if I ever want a hot juicy burger and fries. Five guys, watch out!

According to some other reviews, the pies are better than the slices, so take this with that grain of salt, but I’m confident in saying that the slices are bad. The cheese was tasteless and unmelted, the sauce was as clumpy as it had probably been in the can, the crust was too thick and doughy, and the whole thing was undercooked. Also, the slice was $ 3.30, too expensive for the junk I got, and the counter guy told me they weren’t that big, so I ordered 2. Well, they’re freakin’ huge. Get 1, or better yet, get none.
