I started eating at Taylor more since I retired from being a pescatarian a couple of years ago. I went to the Bethesda location shortly before 8PM. I was unaware that they close at 8, which is somewhat unorthodox but no one is really around that block at that time so I understand. Anyway, I ordered a sandwich that had bacon in it and I was informed that the grill was shut down so that one wasn’t available. That was when the manager informed me of the time but he implored that I could still order something different and even enjoy it there while they were breaking things down. I selected a different sandwich and said I was going to take it home to eat. A few minutes later, he brought it to me and walked away. I grabbed a bag of chips and waited for another minute to be rung up. He looked back over at me and told me it was all on the house as an apology for not being able to provide my original order. Great guy, great place.

My coworkers have been raving about Taylor Gourmet so we decided to get catering from Taylor Gourmet today. I got to try the Love Salad and Cannoli. The Love Salad consisted of arugula, pastina, cherry tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella, and served with basil pesto and Taylor vinaigrette on the side. In my opinion, it was a simple salad. I wasn’t a fan of the Taylor vinaigrette as it had too much of a kick to it. I haven’t consumed the Cannoli filled with cream and chocolate chips because I’m waiting to find out about the type of oil it’s deep fried in. I may return to try the Butternut Squash salad before the winter is over.

Great bread which is the heart of any sandwich. Cheesesteak was excellent too

stopped in this deli when I was out in bethesda and I am still blown away by the logan salad. it had squash, kale, cranberries, apples, sunflower seeds and was delicious. I have yet to try a sandwich but if the salads are this good i bet the sandwich will be just as good.

I went here for the first time in August and really enjoyed their cheese steak. We got some sodas, chips, and two sandwiches as well as some risotto balls and our total was $ 31. The cheese steak was high quality, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and is making my mouth water thinking about it. I added pickles and ate the entire thing. What a cow. I will be back and definitely get the same thing. They have a variety of fresh sandwiches and other enticing menu options. The day we went there wasn’t a soul in there but I imagine week days can be pretty hectic with local businesspeople going for their lunches.

Had an office catering need today, and I finally was able to partake as they offer a special Vegan option. I devoured the Cumberland Sandwich, which consisted of a perfectly quick fried Chickpea Fritter, Cucumber, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pepperoncini, and a very zesty and tasty Lemon Mint Tahini Dressing. Their bread is baked fresh locally on daily basis with no preservatives and basic ingredients of flour, yeast, salt and water. You can choose from Original Italian Seeded, Whole Cracked Wheat Soft Roll or even a Gluten Free Wrap. Although I did not partake in the fresh greenery of their salads, I was pretty impressed with the Hoagie Platter that had a variety of Turkey, Chicken and Italian meats. The Salad Bowls named Love and Wilson were colorfully decorated with fresh toppings and their special«Taylor» Vinaigrette that got rave compliments. As usual, the cookie and chip platter was a quick grab. Much foodie kudos to Hillary for such awesome client/catering services… and that delicious sandwich! We look forward to our next budget meeting :-)

Great ingredients and really well thought out and original ingredient combinations in sandwiches. I love this place and the variety of sandwiches that they offer that are different from the usual standard sandwiches. I work nearby and come to this place a lot. However, the bread is extremely tough and very difficult to chew. If you have jaw problems or do not enjoy tougher bread, this may be a dealbreaker. I think the great ingredients and well thought out sandwich combinations make up for this but I know people who do not agree with my opinion. Awesome array of sodas. Sometimes I come here just to get a fountain drink because their cream soda and root beer are to die for.

I really can’t emphasize enough how poor the service is here. Zero stars for service. Two stars because the food is good, although it has gone down over the years across all locations. In an economy where people are still desperate for jobs I’m not sure how or why better employees can’t be found.

I have been dying to try this place forever and finally stumbled onto this location while walking around in Bethesda. First off, the sodas are so good. My favorites were the Vanilla crème and Black Cherry. Next up was the Risotto balls. Yum! My only criticism would be that the dipping sauce was a little spicier than would be my preference. My mom and I split the Vine hoagie and that was super delicious as well! My husband’s Federale looked amazing and he didn’t say much while devouring it, so i can only assume he greatly enjoyed it! I liked that they offered a kids’ menu, because most sub places don’t. She loved the chicken tenders and the buttermilk parmesan dipping sauce! I have a long list of subs I want to try next. We will be back as soon as possible!

I wish Taylor Gourmet had been open back when I used to work in downtown Bethesda, I would have been a frequent visitor. A lot of the sandwiches sounded delicious, but I went with the Bainbridge, an Italian type of sandwich with one of my favorite ingredients, roasted red peppers. And i was not disappointed– the bread was fresh and the capicola and salami had just the right amount of spice. The service wasn’t the fastest, but its worth it if the sandwich is freshly made. I like the décor inside as well– very industrial chic. A great lunch spot in Bethesda.

Still fantastic, and the online ordering should eliminate any qualms you may have about the service. GOEAT!

Since the new website has launched, placing orders online has been a breeze! THANKYOU for fixing the site! And delivery has been on time! So far, ordered twice online in the past couple of weeks for company orders and everything has been great! Food is delish! Thanks!

One of the best sandwiches in all of the DC area. VA, DC, MD, etc. And not just one good sandwich, but many. Roast pork, chicken cutlets, cheese steak, hoagies(yes, hoagies, subs are for little girly men), etc. All awesome. It’s so good I literally have trouble walking by the place immediately after a big lunch without getting something. I would literally knock over an old lady into oncoming traffic to get at one of their sandwiches. I wondered why 3−½ stars average rating and see that the only complaints are difficult phone ordering, issues with delivery, the fact that nobody speaks english(why is this relevant?). Not one negative comment about the FOOD. I feel like interjecting a little Allen Iverson here. «It’s a sandwich shop. And you’re talking about delivery? You’re talking about phones and ordering on them? It’s sandwiches. Sandwiches. Not a language. Sandwiches.» And I actually like the homemade, natural sodas too including a great Ginger Ale and Root Beer. Hello people, it’s a sandwich shop and a great one, arguably the best in all of the DC Metro area says the guy from Philly that knows a good freaking sandwich. And for those of you not willing to brave a minor phone ordering challenge, you don’t deserve to eat sandwiches this awesome.

Although you will not be disappointed in their food, delivery and phone ordering service is abysmal. Calling to place an order here is an unnecessarily difficult process. If you’re brave enough to attempt this be prepared be placed on hold forever and then hung up on repeatedly. Now after you’ve braved the telephone nightmare, managed to place your order, you think you’re in the clear? WRONG. Be prepared to receive your sandwich at the very least 2 hours after you’ve placed your order for delivery. I blame management. They are understaffed for the amount of volume. Lunch lines go out the door and they can’t keep up with the volume. I could understand how working here would be an utter nightmare. They need to increase their staff, focus on customer service training, and hire an adequate amount of delivery drivers. Granted they are very busy because their food is awesome, but give us the best of both worlds!

This place is owned by two cuties who up-and-peaced-out from Philly and dropped into the DC arena. They weren’t pleased with our DC version of the«Hoagie» and decided to open their own place with yummy crafted gourmet sandwiches. Since this place is within walking distance of my work I have been here quite a few times. I have ordered the Locust street(house roasted turkey with sharp provolone), South Street(grilled chicken breast, basil pesto, and lemon basil goat cheese) and the Christian Street(Portobello mushrooms, arugula, roasted red peppers and goat cheese). I love this place because of how big they are on the«Green Movement.» They reuse most of their materials, promote healthy indoor air quality and reduce their Firm’s waste. I love giving my money to establishments who care about the world we live in, especially if they are going to continue making us yummy sandwiches.

Back to one star and one word for Taylor Gourmet’s Bethesda location: shame. They still NEVER have delivery drivers during dinner time… can you really claim to deliver if your drivers are only there for half the day? The guy who took my order over the phone tonight was clueless… I had to repeat my card number numerous times and was placed on hold 3 times. It took over 10 minutes to place a simple takeout order. Picked up the order… got back to the office… we were missing a sandwich that was clearly on the receipt. When I called back, I was hung up on once and then given attitude the next time around. «You can just come back and pick it up.» No refund was offered until I told them that coming back definitely was not an option as we were not nearby. This place suffers from awful service which is a shame considering the food is always fresh and delicious. Oh well.

Came here for lunch and was hungry. This place ain’t cheap. With regular sub($ 9.90) chips and drink will run you about $ 14. Speaking of drinks, their soda pop tastes so different than your standard Coke products. Takes a little getting used too. Don’t know if I’m a fan. I ordered the Pattison Avenue pork sandwich and don’t recall it being this spicy before. It tasted like how I remembered minus the heat. Man it was so spicy. Maybe they cooked my dads cheesesteak #2, before mine, which had spicy cherry peppers and somehow transferred that heat to mine and my mom sandwiches. Did they not clean the flattop? Plus it was a wait to get our food. Ten minutes and it wasn’t even that crowded(one other table). Not many places nearby for fast sandwiches unless u consider potbelly down the street. Taylor is a step above that place. At least in terms of quality of meats.

California Avenue $ 10(3⁄5 NOMs) Avocadoing away. Exploring what California has to offer right here in one of DC’s premier foodie areas, Bethesda Restaurant Row. Nice and long, not as thick as their regular size, but longer. The sizing might confuse us a bit. Comes packed with a tone of roasted turkey, avocado, parmesan cheese and of course bacon. Big fan of the roasted turkey, nice strong flavor. That strong flavor almost overpowered everything else. You can only taste a slight hint of avocado and bacon. Though it didn’t taste dry which is common with roasted turkey. It looked and tasted healthy, not counting bacon, but then again in our book bacon is the healthiest thing of them all. Bensalem $ 10(3⁄5 NOMs) Hulk hunger with hulk sandwich! Exploring some nomnom sandwiches in Bethesda, DC Metro area’s foodie neighborhoods. Was hulk level hungry and went straight for the sandwich with most meat. Three different kind of meats is the way to satisfy our hunger Genoa Salami, Peppered Ham and Roasted Pork. Packed inside with even more roasted tomatoes, sweet provolone and pepperoncini. That is one thick sandwich, will require for you to unhinge your jaw. Even mouth master like myself had trouble. With so much meaty goodness, the flavor didn’t have much of a punch. Meat overpowered everything else, which is not a bad thing, we do love meat. It just it was kind of bland, as if something was missing. Would probably still order this because of all the meat.

You’ll find good subs here but don’t miss the OUTSTANDING arancini. A friend has been raving about Taylor Gourmet for going on 2 years now. I took advantage of attending a nearby Unilocal Elite event to finally stop in here for some dinner after wandering around Bethesda Row. They weren’t very busy so the friendly guy behind the counter had plenty of time to answer any questions I had and my order came up really quick. My 9th Street Italian sub was plump and good and the roll was nice, outside covered in sesame seeds and a good chewy complement to the soft inside. Italian subs are one of the ways I judge a sub shop(meatball being the other) and TG’s uses good quality meats and cheese on theirs and plenty of them. My regular sandwich was about 6″ long and I ended up taking ½ home for lunch the next day. The absolute star of my dinner however was the arancini — risotto balls with marinara. In Italian these are called Suppli al Telefono for the way the melted mozzarella resembles telephone lines when you pull the balls apart. The arancini at Taylor Gourmet are some of the best I’ve had in the DC area. Complementing the stringy mozzarella, the rice is well seasoned without being overly salty and the marinara has just the right balance of tomato sweetness and acidity. The place has a combination of modern and retro feel to the décor and seating. It was quiet early on a Saturday evening. I’m sure its much busier at lunch and happy hour during the week. I enjoyed just hanging out and having my meal and would probably stop in again.
