The best indian food I have ever had! Quality and flavor of food is above par. Matar Paneer & Malai Kofta both excellent. The onion kulcha is soft and packed full of onion bits. BTW they are not closed, they are still of Norfolk st in Bethesda I think they are called Kadhai now. Same chefs :)

This is the best North Indian food in the DC Metro Area. The lunch buffet is high quality and consistent. My girlfriend and I try to stop in regularly for the weekend lunch buffet.
Definitely try the Matter Paneer. It is ridiculous.
I did prefer the old location. The new one feels a little cramped.

I’ll admit I’m biased in a weird way: the first time I ever had Indian food was at Haandi. Now I can’t even imagine the last 15 years of my life without sweet, sweet Indian food. So Haandi will always have a special place in my heart. So when I found myself back in the DC area, this was one of the first places I looked up. I was surprised to see they had a new location, as the old one was amazing, but the owners explained they lost the lease and the new place.
Service is still awesome and the food was amazing! It is the little things, like the best rice and green chutney ever. I got the Dal Mahkni and it was smokey, creamy deliciousness. I miss this place like crazy!
