I have rarely experienced truly terrible customer service in my life, but today I definitely did. After breaking down on the highway, I called the closest towing company. Little did I know that this towing company was terrible. Over the phone, the man was rude and condescending. Our first phone call ended in what had appeared him hanging up after saying that he would send someone. However, after 20 minutes we called again. The same man answered and said no one had been sent because he didn’t know where we were. I told him that we thought he’d hung up, to which he replied, «oh I guess we got disconnected.» We told him where we were and he said he would send someone out. If he had said a timeline or any indication that they may be a while, I would have been fine. I’m someone who just wants to know what’s going on, if it’s going to take 30 minutes, tell me, and I’ll wait. But when I’m told someone is being sent out from a location that is 3 miles from where I am, I expect it to be there in decent time. Nope! 40 minutes later and we are still waiting. We call back to see what is happening. The man over the phone is once again rude, offers a vague guess about when someone would be here and then hangs up. 50 minutes we waited on a tow company that was exactly 5 minutes from where we were. I will never call them again and I plan on urging those I know to avoid it as well.
