Love this syrup. Great for pancakes, but also braises, BBQ sauces, marinades. Woodsy, smoky flavor with just a pour.

The Falling Bark Farm is owned by the Millers, where it is located out in Berryville, VA. They are known for their Wildwood’s Hickory Syrup, where it is produced in small batches from select hickory bark from the VA forests. The bark is scrubbed clean, toasted, put through the extraction process, aged, filtered, and added with refined cane sugar. This syrup is used for grilling, marinades, as salad dressings, as sweeteners, and can be drizzled over breakfast items(like pancakes and french toast!). It’s an interesting alternative to maple syrup, as this one is more thicker in consistency and more ‘smokier’ in taste(think of it as a syrup in a BBQ form: P Their product can be found at farmers markets in Purcelleville, but also can be ordered online or at specialty stores(such as wineries, gift shops, and artisan markets). +Wildwood’s Hickory Syrup
