Cookie is a brilliant musician, and most importantly, a wonderful teacher and person. It is obvious from the moment you meet her that she loves teaching and loves people. She is incredibly patient has the most amazing ability to put a nervous student at ease. She can take really difficult concepts, like the violin bow for example, and make it look so completely easy. Cookie is also, to put it simply, a master of the violin and viola. She has a Masters degree from Yale and is the founder and director of Veretski Pass (read her full bio on that website). I can’t say enough good things about her. She can teach music theory or teach you to play by ear or both. I very highly recommend Cookie as a teacher for any and all ages and she is truly remarkable, effective and adorable with small children. You or your child would be very lucky to have her as a teacher. Highly recommend!

Cookie is just wonderful. Her background is impressing, she is an amazingly organized teacher, resourceful and fun. She has been teaching our 7yo son for over two years now. I was trained as a classical violinist in Europe, and I am delighted to see what she does with him. Five stars!

We are lucky to have Cookie as our daughter’s teacher. She is fun, gentle, creative and always ready to go. She can take any concept and simplify it for the kids by breaking it down into small steps. In class she wastes not time and packs the 30 minute session. My daughter tends to learn quickly, and Cookies always makes sure she is adequately challenged. She understands what motivates my daughter– as a result my daughter LOVES the violin and is always excited to come to class.
