The Furniture Whisperer. That is the best description I can give for Lani Taylor at Taylor Blue. She is absolutely AMAZING. My husband and I frequently disagree on design, but Lani is patient and knowledgeable, helping suggest things that both of us will like, without ever being pushy. She has helped us with everything from a sofa and rug to selecting paint colors. While her showroom is small, it doesn’t matter — her ability to pick up a catalog, point to the exact thing you want without even knowing it, describe exactly how it feels, is just uncanny. I have never in my life ordered a sofa without sitting on it, but she was right on the money. Huge fan of Lani!!!

Taylorblue is a unique design shop right near the Claremont Hotel. The art, accessories, and artifacts are wonderful and one of a kind. The furniture is very upscale, great quality, yet affordable. The space is a converted firehouse and is beautiful in it’s own right. Lani the owner, and Lydia, her assistant, are friendly, patient, extremely knowledgeable, but not over-​bearing. Taylorblue was formerly in the San Francisco Design Center and I am so happy they relocated to the East Bay! I have purchased many items including an awesome huge urchin chandelier for my living room, a sectional, chairs, and accessories galore! The design advice offered was invaluable as I have a very old house but want to update it. I highly recommend this wonderful addition to the neighborhood. This is truly a destination because there are great restaurants, coffee, bakery, women’s clothing, and an olive oil factory a stones throw away!

I went into taylorblue design shortly after it opened. What a beautiful store! They sell sophisticated furniture, art work, and accessories. Lani and Lydia are very kind and helpful. I have not seen a store like this anywhere in the area. Reminds me of Paris. So far I have purchased my entire living room, and master bedroom furniture, and am working on rest! Their prices are great, and the accessories are really fun and unique. Worth going into to look!
