Love this place. Stopped by on my way home from work one night(it’s so convenient!), and have since gone back a few times. The service is very friendly and I felt welcome. I had the Chile Verde and it was delicious.

Small place with tasty & cheap burritos. Best bang for your buck, burrito-wise, in the area.

So their pricing was really good I ordered a super steak burrito with guac and sour cream. Sadly I paid extra for nothing because I still couldn’t taste it. They wouldn’t add more either. Kind of pissed but it’s okay next time I’ll just add EXTRAANDEXTRA ! I will give it another chance though. It’s right across from REI

Best chile verde I’ve ever had. I’m local and eat here every now and then. It’s consistently good, I don’t understand the negative reviews. Not sure what they’re ordering but bland it is not. Guess it’s not for everyone but you should try it, especially if you like chile verde.

I really wanted to like this place. It was the choice between a family run, small business, or chipotle across the street, which is fresh and healthy but I can get anywhere. We decided to try this place. The whole meal was $ 25 for a Super Burrito, nachos, and 1 enchilada with beans and rice. The salsa to start was extremely bland, tasted like tomato paste watered down with some chili powder added. I still had hope the food would be good. The $ 8 nacho plate was very small, and the retried beans tasted days old, with very little toppings and no flavor. My enchilada was terrible. No flavor. The sauce tasted like a can, it was so bad I avoided it while eating the enchilada, and the rice had the same bland flavor. My boyfriends burrito was flavorless(surprise!) and had almost no sour cream or cheese and they wanted to charge extra for guacamole and pico de gallo. We could have paid less that $ 20 at chipotle and been satisfied. My hope is that this review will be read and the owners of this establishment will start to use better, fresher ingredients in their food.

First time and last time eating here. I got a carne asada super burrito-no hot sauce. This burrito had little flavor. The meat was poor quality and I had to take out large portions of the steak that were just fatty chewy chunks. The rice was dry. The beans tasted burned. Disappointing overall.

Great burritos and tacos. I eat here regularly since my office is a block away. Consistently good and fresh. They make a great horchata too. I usually do take out but they have great garden spot in the back. Can’t go wrong here. Very friendly too.

Chile verde super burrito, for less than $ 8! It’s huge and I save half to bring home. Very friendly family-run place. I asked both the man and the woman who work there what their favorite meat was, and both said chile verde so that’s what I always get. I love coming here after shopping at REI(this is way better than Chipotle next door) and enjoy the quiet patio out back.

I really wanted to like this place as it’s walking distance from my house, family-run, and has a cute patio. Unfortunately the food leaves much to be desired. In addition to being pretty bland, the chicken was clearly of really low quality– rubbery, weird color and texture, zero flavor. I’d never met a burrito I couldn’t eat until today.

Seems like every time I go to rei I hop across the street for a burrito. And they’re phenomenal! Don’t expect a huge pile of chips but they are truly excellent. No salsa bar might put some off, but they provide their own delicious salsa in a reusable bowl(no plastic waste!) and a spoon to dress your burrito for each bite.

Usually, no matter how bad a place is, if you look closely you can find a reason for its existence. Airport eateries, for example, with their endless stream of one time visitors who have no other options. Or the only Chinese restaurant in Yuma, Arizona, for example. This place, however, is a complete mystery. Their food, prepared without any particular skill or enthusiasm from mediocre ingredients, is bland and unremarkable. The décor is nonexistent. The location, although on a busy street, isn’t particularly convenient. With lots of crappy little strip mall eateries nearby, I’m not sure how this one has survived. Perhaps it wont. Perhaps I’m just catching it at that brief moment in time between the opening and closing of the 20th establishment to have failed at this address. There are a lot of interesting questions to think about. I suggest you mull them over lunch at some other location.

This was not a fantastic eating experience. Yes, as mentioned, the owners were very pleasant and friendly. I did not receive what I ordered, but it was an understandable mistake(pollo asado tacos rather than carne asada) so I rolled with it. The grilled chicken was serviceable, but not especially flavorable. It was moderately good quality meat, so nothing mysteriously chewy… not street meat, but also not high quality. There was a LOT of chicken in my tacos(tacos come with meat, pico, and beans — I’m accustomed to tacos chilangos, which don’t have beans) so I cannot substantiate reviews that say food was lacking in meat. At under $ 3 a taco, this was a considerable amount of chicken. These tortillas pretty clearly came from a bag, which is always a black mark in my book. Taquerias should make and serve their own tortillas. These also had that telltale chewiness of having been heated, allowed to cool and collect condensation, and then heated again. They also collected moisture from the frijoles. Not the best textural experience. Chips and salsa were meh. Chips might have been housemade, it was tough to tell. Certainly a rough ground corn, but didn’t quite strike me as nixtamal. Salsa was watery and relatively bland and came in a molcajete… with a spoon. Again, the folks were very nice, but this was not a positive food experience.

Both outside and inside was clean, cute and comfortable. I didn’t venture outside but there looked to be a nice deck in back. That said, the food was OK at best and didn’t leave me with much desire to return.

The most disappointing meal I’ve had in a long time. I had a «Pollo Verde» burrito and while I was able to find actual chicken(not much) it was dry and had no hint of «verde» or even flavor. It suffered from the general obesity that has befallen burritos– a rice-rice bean-bean log that is big on calories and short on taste. K’s taco had less stuff and even less flavor. The chips were OK, the salsa was sub-par. I don’t doubt others good times here but we won’t be back.

Real mexican food– Why hasn’t anyone said anything about the Enchiladas?! Venture out, burrito people! This is the best place for enchiladas-red, green-one of each! It is a simple, easygoing place-order your food(at a decent price compared to everywhere else in Berkeley), grab a magazine if you want-they have a decent variety, including natgeo-and go enjoy it in the back patio-which is a lovely place on a sunny day. Also, you might catch the owner singing or humming to himself, he’s a funny guy. Btw-the green enchilada comes with sour cream and guacamole on top-yum
