Nice, friendly neighborhood store. I usually can find what I need and people are helpful. One suggestion is to have more fragrance/​chemical free products, such as shampoo and cream rinse.

I am a nutritional supplement snob, going for high-​end herbal tinctures that are alcohol-​free & homeopathic remedies that are specific to ailment. That said, I often have to order online to get my needs met in this area. I have been surprised & delighted by how much I find what I need right here in this deceptively small shop (with an enormous inventory) and at a great price. The staff are so helpful, truly knowledgeable & friendly. This IS a neighborhood gem.

Great store! The staff is as knowledgeable as they could possibly be, and they’re very helpful. In addition, the store has a stock of reference books to browse through, as well as books for sale.
They have a large stock of vitamins, herbal tinctures, homeopathic remedies, and cosmetics.
Also, discount for seniors!

It’s my replacement for elephant pharmacy, and it rocks. Selection is thrillingly complete and the prices are reasonable. I don’t know if vitamin is really the right word though…

Holy Overwhelm Batman!
I just picked up a dozen snack bars (they have an assortment of options — I went with the delicious sesame crisp ones) and some organic body wash. Not inexpensive, but good stuff.
While I was there, I browsed a little and the staff was very helpful when I asked where I could find «dragon testicle.» I had heard that a little dried crushed dragon testicle mixed with your Wheeties can improve eyesight, aid with digestion and help you jump tall buildings in a single bound. In any case, it is out of season.
Honestly, this place is great for your health. They have every kind of vitamin, mineral, herb, etc. supplement you can imagine and they usually have one manufactured elsewhere (cheaper, but carrying the stigma of «why am I buying something shipped across the ocean increasing my carbon footprint to save $ 2?») or one manufactured in the USA (even right here in Berkeley) for a slightly higher cost.
And, there are people on site who are very friendly and know what they are talking about. A very good thing when you are entering the world of over the counter alternative health supplements.
