The Collector Art Shop, both locations, on College Ave, in Berkeley, and Jack London Square, are Alameda county’s, best, of the best! It is impossible to leave empty handed. There is something for everyone, at all price points. Everything is unique, and artist created. From an artist’s standpoint, the owners, Christina, and Skye, couldn’t be more pleasant to work with. They are both charming, and delightful, as are the sales staff. Don’t miss an opportunity to drop by, and see all the fabulous treasures, for gifts, home, and of course, for yourself!

This place is fantastic, and I’m a bit embarrassed that it took me so long to discover it. I will be a regular now. My service was great, too. In my first visit I made mental notes about potential gifts and found great items for myself and wish list items for when I truly want to splurge on myself, like a $ 100 bracelet(maybe next year). I bought some absolutely wonderful soup bowls that were handmade. My only complaint is that I was told that the(well) curated items in this store were made locally, but it turns out my bowls were part of the maybe 10% of items that came from elsewhere – I think Brooklyn. I’m a huge fan of shopping local and often go out of my way to shop local. So finding out my «local» bowls were far from it after the fact was a bit of a bummer. But the shop and the people who work there are still great.

I absolutely love this little art shop. I normally avoid galleries, due to sticker shock and a general sense of snobbery that I seem to encounter, but Collector Art Shop is absolutely fantastic. Great collection of local art in all different mediums, reasonable prices, and a great staff. Definitely check it out(after grabbing some ice cream next door!).

I’ve always really been impressed with how many great pieces they have here. It’s great for home décor, gifts, and jewelry. Now they also have tons of cards. Shop here and support local business and artists!

A bit on the pricey side and so stereotypically aimed at successful, crafty, liberal, nature loving residents of the pacific north west. I spent way to much here. But the young ladies were friendly and helpful and didn’t make me feel bad for wandering around their store fur far too long. Great, unique Jewlery and prints.

I love getting locally made items, so I shop here frequently. What is nice is that the artwork is always changing, so I see something new every time I go in. Wonderful spot to browse.

If you’re ever in the area after dinner or Ici’s, you should definitely stop by this place. Everything from the postcards to the prints to the pottery are unique and fun to look at(and they’re all made by local artists!). Even if you initially enter the store with no intention of buying anything, the quality of the works of art there may convince you otherwise, and I’m sure that many of the works of art with resonate strongly with you(especially Bay Area residents). Their service is also excellent. I recently purchased two items from Collector — one was a graduation gift for my girlfriend. Due to a small error(the gift was gift wrapped the first time with the price tag still on the item and had to be redone), I waited a couple more minutes than needed. I told the lady that I didn’t mind waiting an additional couple minutes(mistakes happen after all). Though I told her that it was not necessary, she added a small discount to my purchase due to the wait. 10⁄10 would recommend.

I love this place. Every time I’m in the area, I must stop by here. I’m usually browsing here but I’m always buying their cards out in the front of their store. Definitely check out their card stand, I’m always buying items for Birthday’s, Thank You’s, etc. All cards are just for $ 5! All their pieces are from local artist’s which is also great ! :)

So beautiful. This is a clean, organized, creative space for art lovers to admire works of local artistry. Admittedly the prices are somewhat high, but you are helping support creative minds in their pursuit of expression. Encourage that. We need more artists in this world.

Art doesn’t have to cost an exuberant amount of money. Art should be accessible yet unique. Collection has an amazing array of items — prints, paintings, ceramics, Mini sculptures, jewelry and so much more. I love love love that they feature local bay area artists. The owner curates aesthetically pleasing art. She has a discerning eye and great taste. If you need to give someone something really special or for yourself. Look no more Collection has something for everyone. I truly enjoy perusing through this gallery. They also carry one of a kind greeting cards.

Visited the pop-up store in SFO Terminal three, boarding area E this weekend and was so amazed. The jewelry, cards, and other gift items here were amazing, and there was something within almost anybody’s budget. LOVE. Also thought the service was great. Now how am I going to explain to my cat that a layover at an airport suddenly means I can’t afford food for him this month?

Not a huge shop, but in it’s walls it hosts artwork from local artists. Great artwork, stationary and other gift items.

This is one of my favorite small galleries and art/retail shops in the Bay Area. Everything is so well-curated, but the owners are also very open to all kinds of styles and mediums. I’m thrilled to be participating in their next art showing. They focus on selling affordable, original art under $ 1K, which I can really appreciate as an emerging artist(I’ve seen way too many ego-manic price tags on work that really just doesn’t warrant the $$$). They also house a ton of adorable, high-quality prints, greeting cards, and other fun ephemera. The owners are really friendly, too!

Great affordable pieces. Everything from wall prints, to greeting cards, to jewelry and ceramics. Have visited many times to shop for gifts and for myself. The owner Skye is so sweet and her shop is my hands down favorite in the Elmwood area of College!

I’m really not that hard to shop for, as long as you don’t stray from College Avenue. I’ve rarely met a store I didn’t like on this strip of ideal retail, and Collector is definitely no exception. I stopped in my tracks when I noticed the rack of cutesy cards(gift tip #1: I’m a stationery hoarder) on the sidewalk just outside. Peeking in, the sparse aesthetic and simple art lured me inward… What a find! This is like a mini Etsy, with a very consistent style so if you like one thing you see, you will probably like them all. There’s loveable small works starting at $ 25, gorgeous modern jewelry from $ 20−80ish, cute décor things, etc. It’s like a less cluttered version of Maison d’Etre down in Rockridge, with more art. A very smart place to stop in for a gift — and I’m not just talking about for me! Plus, Goorin Bros and Labels are real close by, so you’re sure to score somethin’.

I am a bit addicted to Collector and running out of wall space for my many purchases. Lovely art for varied tastes and incomes(most things I’ve purchased fall between $ 20-$ 60). The owner, Skye, is a total sweetheart. Frankly she is probably a big part of the reason I keep coming back. I really want to see Collector thrive and have introduced several friends, all of whom have become just as smitten.

Small, but a good selection for it’s size, you’ll wander in very possibly knowing none of the artists, like me, but leave with a sweet and affordable print, like me. This is a fantastic art studio that’s fun to look around at and learn some new names.

I really have to figure out a word to describe shops in Elmwood other than«adorable.» Maybe I’ll whip out the more straight-forward hyperbolic: This place is amazing. Collector advertises itself as a place to get affordable artwork. Great! Except that«affordable art» is often code for«cheap crap you bought at a street fair» or «actually, it’s $ 500, but at least that’s not $ 5,000?» Luckily, Collector falls into neither of these two camps. Here, you can find a range of stuff, topping out around the couple-of-hundred range for originals, but coming down to $ 20-$ 50 for limited-run prints of really swank art. Think 20×200, but higher quality, more screen prints, and local. Better yet, the range of stuff is wider – I picked up a couple of $ 4 cards, reproductions of larger prints. You can also find calendars, magnets, knick-knacks and jewelry. Put on top of the well-curated selection an inviting store and attractive displays, and you have yourself a winner.

The store has a great collection of cards, smaller art pieces and reproductions at fairly affordable prices. This would be a great place to buy a gift. There was a lot of stock but things weren’t so crammed in that you couldn’t browse easily or so that you are afraid you are going to knock stuff off shelves. Only downside is the woman behind the counter never acknowledged me at all even though she didn’t seem to be doing anything…
