Made a custom order of penne vodka pizza it was so delicious. I love that they use a brick oven pizza.

Horrible horrible service. Calamari on menu clearly states $ 10.95 and owner takes it upon himself to charge me $ 30 bucks for one order of calamari!!! When I asked the waitress why when the menu states the price I am being charged $ 30, she said the owner requested the amount to be charged and refused to speak to me! As a customer I am appalled. After 10 mins of confusion he finally comes out of the back to explain the bill, and he states because he had to drive to another destination to purchase calamari due to his restaurant not having any, he took it upon himself to charge me 30 instead of the stated menu price of 10.95. He then refused my payment after me stating that I will be paying the menu price!!! Extremely rude and disrespectful and I will not be returning!!!

I really wanted to love this place(so convenient) but unfortunately there was no way. We ordered take out last week. We ordered calamari, a chef salad, and a large pizza. 50 bucks. The calamari was soggy and the gravy was barely enough for five pieces of the calamari. Maybe three Ztablespoons is what we got so we couldn’t finish it. The salad was good. Pizza was nothing special. I called the restaurant to lament my feelings go,&, Zulu about the food but the manager was not in so I left a message. She didn’t call me back. Oh well… there are worse restaurants out there. I wouldn’t recommend it but maybe they just had an off night.

The last few times have been rather disappointing. The pizza just isn’t what it used to be and we haven’t and probably won’t be returning. The service is always good but if the product isn’t consistent then you don’t return.

Amazingly excellent customer experience tonight. It’s Memorial Day Weekend Sunday. Many places are either closed or closing early. When I called them at 7:55 pm tonight and asked if they were open, they said they were closing in 5 minutes at 8. I said, oh that’s too bad because I was going to order food. They said — don’t worry, we’ll be glad to do it. And they did. Not only did they put together my take out order, they did it with a smile. Over the years, I’ve come in for dinner and never ever have I been disappointed. This is a very friendly local restaurant where the people work very hard to please you. Food is great and portions are more than fair. One note for you — forget the address. It’s actually in a mini mall on the corner of Washington Ave & Clinton Ave. The restaurant faces Clinton and there’s a parking lot on Clinton. It’s about ¼ block east of Washington. If you want a friendly place that’s around the corner from where you live with truly excellent Italian food, go to the Amici Family Restaurant.

So far… this is our favorite Italian restaurant in the neighborhood! Nothing compares to Amici, including the vibe when you actually dine in the restaurant. The other Italian restos in Dumont and Bergenfield are made for quick to go’s, not Amici. I enjoy their calamari and chicken francese and my husband loves the mamma mia! I cannot comment on other dishes because we tend to stick to what we love in the place!

It is so nice to have found an Italian restaurant that stands out from the crowd. This place opened up the month after we moved to this town. My fiancé and I order an Amici salad and the margarita pizza at least once a month, and when we have the time to dine in it is always such a treat! They start you with a basket garlic knots and bread. The entrees are very affordable and a come in large portions. I love the daily specials and will usually try something off of that menu. My fiancé always enjoys his tortellini or ravioli, the food is very flavorful. It is byob and has a very nice ambiance. The staff is very friendly and attentive, we usually go during the week when it is not that busy.

The food here is incredible. Large portions just enough seasoning. The staff is friendly. I had the Chicken Mama Mia and the Chicken Parm with Penne Vodka. The dinner comes with bread, garlic knots, and a soup or salad. They also have a lot of specials like an early bird special from 4 – 6 on weekdays. Large portion low prices good for after work.

I just came back from dinner. I’ve ordered delivery before and it has always been good so I decided to try and dine in there. I ordered veal saltimboca with a side of penne with marinara and that also comes with a side salad. The salad was just a regular garden salad with a house italian, but it was fresh and crisp. The veal was tender and tasty the only complaint I have is that the menu stated it was served over spinach and it wasn’t. The spinach was in between the mozarella and the panchetta which is nestled on top of the sauteed veal. ok no biggie, however, it was frozen, chopped spinach and a ton of it. I scraped most of it off and set it aside and it was fine. This dish could be better if they used fresh, baby spinach sauteed with some garlic and olive oil and served directly under the veal or on the side. Just my opinion and how I would do it. The penne was good, cooked perfectly al dente and I must say they do make a good marinara, just enough herbs and flavor, The service was A-ok as well.

I’ve eaten at Amici’s a three times since they opened a couple of years back. I’ve been consistently satisfied and very pleased with the food. While the service is overall very good it can be a bit slow as in many places when they are very busy. Regardless it is well worth the wait with large portions of excellent Italian dishes. Their seafood dishes are outstanding and not a surprise as the owners are avid fisherman. I wasn’t impressed with their desserts which in my opinion isn’t one of their strong suites however given the amount of food they serve you it probably doesn’t matter. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. We’re fortunate to have such a great place like this in Bergenfield.

What a little nook! I loved it here and will deff. go back! I went because a Unilocaler Unilocaled about their stuffed artichoke. unfortunately that is a seasonal appetizer. :( Which, bummed me out, I specifically went there for that! Not their fault! I took another Unilocalers advice and tried the baked tortellini al Forno, now renamed «Baked Tortellini al fornicate» This dish is the epitome of comfort food. baked tortellini should always happen and so should little meatballs. This dish is absolutely perfect — It’s robust, its hearty, its comforting, its everything a dish should be when you are in the mood for a relaxing evening. If i lived closer I’d have this delivered along with a bottle of red and make it a night of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movies. Yea ladies, It’s that good! Moving along — you know my fat ass can’t be content with a huge plate of cheese bake! Nope, I had to try the pizza too! Pizza — honestly I wouldn’t order again. It just bored me — It’s small compared to the entrees — it’s no where near as impressive in flavor. It was«EH!» could have deff spent my $ 15 somewhere else on that menu and have gotten a lot more bang for the buck! I also, somehow, made room for dessert — and what i ordered was, OMG! WTF! Where has this been all my life??? It was like this limoncello sorbet. I dono — it was creamy and refreshing. it was so delicious. I ordered one to split, next time, I’ll make it a double even if I go alone. cappuccino’s were great, but on the boring side. Throw in a cinnamon stick, or something it was presented very basic, I guess as was everything. Basically they keep it plain and simple, nothing fancy except the flavors! And i guess really all that matters in the end, is that I could taste the love. I’m always a skeptic when people say large portions — but everyone is right. Bring your appetite and some friends! See ya’s there — and maybe next time, the stuffed artichoke will be there too!

Not welcoming at all! Went there for the first time last night were told there was a 30 min wait but there were 4 tables opened. Glad we left because we found a delicious Italian restaurant in Dumont.

Kick ass little place. Ordered the stuffed artichoke appetizer which was delicious and had chicken scarparella and my wife had pork chops. Both dishes were prepared nicely and huge portions. Can’t wait to go back. Been back several times since this original post and enjoy it even more now. The wait staff are always very friendly and professional. My 10 yr old daughter loves their chicken parm topped with eggplant and tomato… really excellent. One of her friends recently ordered a meatball parm hero which looked like Arthur Ave style cuisine. My wife often orders off the menu a sautéed broccoli rabe with grilled chicken dish and is always more then pleased. Amici is easily my new, favorite family style Italian place this side of the Hudson. Jason Perlman(Off The Broiler) deserves credit as the early adopter in leaving no stone unturned to hunt down and discover these great places to dine!

Portions are huge. Pastas cooked al dente and sauces flavorful. And to top it off it is byob. I agree with chuck a. The tortellini al forno has been my favorite dish so far. Too many people here complaining about service. If you want a quick meal do fast food or eat at a chain. I enjoyed the laid back homey ambiance. I appreciated not being rushed and our server did a great job manning the place which was pretty busy for a weekday night.

Mouthwatering food! I went there with a Friend for lunch. The lunch special price was reasonable and included either half a sandwich soup or salad pick two. We both ordered from the specials. While we were waiting she placed down a basket of fragrant, warm bread including garlic knots. YUMMY! They have delivery, so I’m planning on ordering some of their delicious sounding brick oven pizza. Won’t that be a plus at a potluck?! It’s a local pizza place with fresh ingredients. I’ve got to stop thinking about it because I’m slobbering.

We went here for an early dinner last week. It is obvious that they choose much higher quality ingredients then most other casual restaruants in the area. We had the margarita pizza as an appetizer and each ordered a pasta dish. The pizza was awesome, but my favorite part was the texture of the crust. When I folded it, it cracked in ½ just like NYC pizza. Between the pizza and salads that come with the pasta I could have stopped there. But when my pasta came out smothered in fresh veggies and aromatic sauce I had to dig in anyway. I had a ton of left overs and had them for lunch the next day. I was even able to share it with a friend. My husband had the Sunday Sauce, he said it was like they have a little Italian grandma in the kitchen cooking up a storm. They must simmer the Sunday Sauce for hours with meatballs and sausage. This place is great; relaxing atmosphere, great service supurb food and fair prices. It’s our new favorite Italian-American place!
