Walking into the restaurant it looks like your typical place. I ordered some of the pasta,(I think it had the word heaven in it), which came with bread and a salad. I was pleasantly suprised! All the ingredients were incredibly fresh and the pasta dishes tasted as if it had been made from scratch! I highly recommend this place!

I’m writing a good review of this place because of the good service and decent food. The bread that comes with the«4 o’clock» or salad was really good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.

Service was great. Greeted as I walked in. Personable cashier. I came here to have coffee. I got the large Café Mocha. Tasted great. But when he handed me The medium sized cup, I said I asked for large. He said that was large. But I held it up To The large cup. He said this is the small.(Only 2 sizes available. Despite them having 3 cup sizes???) for $ 4.50 I’d appreciate a full size. Then I noticed it felt lightweight. I asked if they had wifi he told me theirs was not working but maybe I could get The neighbor’s. As I sat there trying to get service… I open my cup… all the froth had melted. This is what was left. STARBUCKS next time. Didn’t get my money’s worth.

Visiting from out of town and was looking for a sandwich shop other than the chains like Panera, etc. Happened to find this on Unilocal and enjoyed it very much. I had the turkey bacon ranch melt which was probably the freshest sandwich I’ve had in a while. I loved the buttery grilled bread it came on. My daughter had the veggie sandwich and said it was very good as well. The employees were all very friendly and the service was quick. Will visit again in October when I come back to town.

What a Mess! This is the second time we visited the Red Onion. The last time we dined in but this time we did carry out. There are 2 carry-out parking spaces and a special cash register for carry-out customers. That was very helpful. My boyfriend ordered the West Coast Chicken hot sandwich and seasoned fries. The WCC sandwich is roasted chicken, French dressing, jack cheese, bacon, tomato, with mayo & avocado spread on a Brioche roll for $ 7.99. The bread was grilled in a lot of butter so it was very greasy. The chicken breast was moist but it was small and did not fit the bread so it sunk in like a crater. This is something we had noted on our last visit about other sandwiches. The tomato and avocado started out tasting good, but the tomato was so watery that it soaked every ingredient of the sandwich and it fell apart. What a disappointment. The seasoned fries were the highlight of the meal. I stole some off his plate and agree! The seasoning is similar to that of a popular fast food restaurant but the Red Onion fries are a traditional cut. They do not have black pepper. Had I known that, I would have ordered them. I am allergic to black/white pepper. I had asked about the fresh fried potato chips as a side, and they did have pepper on them so I ended up ordering the fresh fruit which was a disappointment. I ordered the popular Grilled Cheese, Tomato & Bacon hot sandwich for $ 7.99. I was completely unimpressed. All I could taste was the greasy bread. My fingers were coated with butter from eating the sandwich. I tried putting mayo for an alternate taste but the bread swallowed it whole. Ick! The fruit cup was full of water. There was one piece of pineapple in it but it was straight from the fruit cocktail can. Ick! There was a small sliver of cantaloupe and 4 red grapes. The rest was Granny Smith apple pieces and that bath of water. I threw it out. Will we go to Red Onion Café again? Not sure yet. Leaning toward the negative. Those fries are definitely tempting. We just need to find enjoyable sandwiches to go with them.

Nice menu but was a bit disappointed. Clean bright atmosphere promising menu but I ordered Chicken Balsamico(sans the garlic bread) thinking it would be tasty and semi healthy with the«Fresh grilled veggies» there was over 2 cups of what tasted and looked like fried red potato wedges. Very greasy! We were half way through our meal before we realized we never ordered drinks. Apparently two of our meals came with drinks but we’re never offered a cup and the kids meals drinks are sold separately.

Came here a little over a week ago for lunch on a Saturday. I was surprised it took me this long to check this place out(moved here 8 months ago). I love good sandwich places. There were quite a few good ones from where I use to live, that weren’t your typical chains, like subway. This place does have more then one location, but only a few. WAIT/PARKING: It is located in a shopping center with a parking lot right out front. It can be a busy area, but not too bad. You order at the cashier/front, find a table, and they bring your food to you. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Customer service overall was good. FOOD: The food was good. I got the West Coast Chicken Sandwich with a fruit bowl. The sandwich had grilled chicken, jack cheese, bacon, tomato, avocado, and mayo. It was pretty good. I wasn’t super impressed with the food, but I’ll have to try more items. It was still good, just not the best sandwich I’ve had. Overall, I will come back and try some more items!

I don’t know why we don’t dine here more often. The staff is courteous, the food is delicious and remarkably fresh, and it is conveniently located. I just had the Cajun Tilapia with roasted potatoes, salad with Italian dressing, and grilled vegetables. It was great. Their broccoli cheddar soup is divine as well. I will make it a point to come here more often.

I love a good Reuben sandwich and this place has one of the best I have ever had. The bread was fresh, meat was tender and plentiful, it had the perfect combo of meat, sauerkraut, cheese and dressing. I have had the West Coast Chicken sandwich as well — a must try! The menu has a great mix of some old favorites and some tasty gourmet selections. The staff are friendly and attentive, the seating is homey and comfortable. If you are ever in Bentonville, you must check this place out!

Super busy at lunch because of the Home Office but that’s everywhere. Service isn’t the best but the food is good. The veggie sandwich is delish!

Not great. And very over priced for what you get. It seems like they want you to feel like its fancier than it really is. Go to The Crumpet for lunch and Table Mesa for dinner as alternatives.

Decent food. Strange atmosphere. I know this is a former Panera Bread, but they did NOTHING to make it look/feel different. So basically it is Panera with a burger and fewer bread options. Burger was good, fries were good. French dip was good, au jus was the best of all. Staff was friendly but it just is not my bag.

Great place to eat, but a little high on prices. The French dip sandwich with the spinach salad and their amazing dressing is fantastic! Good place to eat for lunch with friends or family.

Do not recommend. Came in for an early lunch and ordered a salad to go. Took over 25 minutes to get my food. That is unacceptable in a lunch place where you order at the counter and take a number. When I complained, I was given a menu and told that I should have called ahead. When I finally got what I ordered(a shrimp and avocado salad), I was not impressed. Not worth the wait, high price or poor service.

$ 9 burger, $ 3 soft drinks. Prices are WAY out of line. You could eat across the street at Ruby Tuesday for less and get a salad bar and table service. The burger was well cooked and tasted good, but I felt that it was small(especially considering the gigantic butter drenched bun they put it on). I ordered the field greens and feta cheese salad — note that the salad dressing that comes with that is VERY thick and syrupy.(and very very sweet) Nobody comes to check on you, or to clear your dishes while you eat. You stand in line to order. So, with that in mind I think their prices are exorbitant. This is a fast-food restaurant — albeit a mid-tier fast food restaurant — and should be priced as such. $ 2.99 for a drink is highway robbery. That was a good $ 6 or $ 7 burger — no hamburger anywhere on the planet is worth $ 9. For our family of 3 it was $ 28.00 before tip. Obscene. We could eat at much nicer restaurant for that kind of money… and in the future, we will.

We love the Red Onion in Joplin, MO. We would always try to stop in on our way to Bella Vista, AR. We were so happy to run across the new location in Bentonville! I love the Mandarin Orange Salad with candied almonds, mixed greens, mandarin oranges, red onions and a sweet vinaigrette dressing. The Smoked Chicken Dip is so yummy. We order it every time. You are in for a treat at The Red Onion!

This is that rare occasion where 0 stars would be more appropriate. Or negative stars, that works too. For starters, the very name is a misnomer. It’s more café than coffee shop. They do offer a selection of lattes, etc. but it’s a tiny part of the menu. I ordered a Ranch Chicken Salad. It was good, but there was nothing that stood out or made it special. The chicken on it was luke warm. The salad came with chips, salsa, and a triangle of toasted bread. The toast was good, some kind of wheat or whole-grain bread, but only toasted on one side. The chips were greasy… I suspect they were re-fried? I’m not really sure. And the salsa came straight out of a bottle. In fact, as it turns out, straight out of a package looks to be their entire business model. My dining companion ordered a combo with the Chopped Salad and a bowl of Baked Potato Soup. The salad was loaded with chicken and large chunks of feta, but dressed with a sweet dressing that ruined the whole thing. The soup was cold. Not luke warm, but actually chilled and congealed. I waved a table runner down, she explained that the soup was cold and asked for a new bowl. A few minutes later he returned with the same bowl that had now been microwaved. The bowl was rocket-hot, the soup inside still cold and disgustingly lumpy. At this point we gave up and left. We went down the street to The Crumpet Tea Room where my companion enjoyed a scoop of their homemade chicken salad. We both had orange rolls, served up soft and warm. When we placed our order at Red Onion, I grabbed an oatmeal cookie. I didn’t eat it before we left Red Onion and after my lovely orange roll I didn’t want it. Today a opened it only to find a truly awful industrial cookie that had been trucked in from Wisconsin. It’s really a shame that this small, local chain is so in love with the idea of the industrial food system. Why is it that with only 2 stores, everything has to come out of a package? You can’t roast chicken for your salads? Boston Market manages that. You can’t make soup and keep it warm? Panera has that down to a science. Maybe chop lettuce and tomato for salads? McAlisters does. You can’t make cookies or at least bring something in from a local bakery? You’re right. That would all be too much work. And if a quality product is too much work, I’ll be getting my lunch somewhere else.

New place in Bentonville in the old Panera location. Many sandwiches, salads and soups available as well as all coffee drinks. I enjoyed a smokey turkey on pressed whole grain with an avocado spread and a side fresh spinach & tomato salad with feta. They also serve breakfast from a full traditional breakfast to pancakes.
