Super friendly guy behind the counter, offering inexpensive and delicious soft serve, nice picnic tables in the shade. My coffee shake was incredibly good. Perfect place to stop in the afternoon after hiking in Ricketts Glen.

Excellent Soft Serve Icecream. Very creamy. They used to have great food, but they limited their menu to strickly drinks and icecream. Perhaps a change of management. Their Ice Tea is really good and homemade.

«Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother’s house we go!» And we certainly did for the 4th of July weekend. A little charming ice cream stand over looks the Benton Dam where kids try to escape the hot humid dog days of summer. It has been tradition for years now that when I get back to «Mom-mom and Pop-pop’s» during the summer I HAVE to get a blueberry shake. This place doesn’t just add blueberry syrup to vanilla ice cream, they drown blueberries in it! This stand uses Hershey’s ice cream, but it’s ALLGOOD. They even had THREE, that’s right, THREE types of sugar free soft serve! Butter pecan, cherry chocolate swirl, and peanut butter! WHODOESTHAT!!! Mom-mom loves their sugar free selection, and I tend to agree with her. I also got a hot fudge sundae, which was wonderful also! If by some chance you need to go near Benton, consider stopping by The Dam, or Lake Jean, or Rickets Glenn State Park and also trying out this quaint ice cream stand. You WON’T be disappointed.

We came to Benton to visit with my girlfriend’s grandparents; I fell in love all over again with soft serve ice cream, not only via a cone that held a towering heap of a serving but also through an ice cream sandwich they call a Tally-Ho. I’ve even gained a newfound respect for the humble blueberry as a result of my experience here. Kay raved about their blueberry milkshakes, and I have found that it took ice cream, a cup, and a blender to make me appreciate this tart, inky, beady fruit. When I asked the elderly woman behind the counter for the street address, she eagerly recited it to me, but when I mentioned that I review restaurants for Unilocal, she replied, «It that a website for dogs? ‘Cause dogs love ice cream. People bring ‘em here all the time. Oh we get all kinds. Boxers, poodles, German Shephards, beagles… oh someone brought this adorable little terrier the other day… he was cute… and then there was the time…» I just let her talk, sweetheart that she was, nodding and smiling all the while.
