Loved this place!!! Went 3x in the 2 day period of visiting Benson. Shared/Tried the butterscotch and cherry dipped cones, strawberry and pineapple waffle parfait, blood n orange sorbet, and a skinny carmel machiatto. All were great and daily priced. Will come back every time I visit Benson.

Every time I pass through this wonderful little town… this building just calls to me?! Stop! it says! Stop! So duh I do! I’ve never had a bad experience here. Ever. Everything is delicious and tastes fresh. They have so many flavors and so many options and so many suggestions. The girls(only girls) that work there are so beyond nice. I’m not even joking, I CAN’T pass this place without feeling like I’ve abandoned it. Other reviews say it’s just a plain old ice cream place. You’re not looking at the magic. You’re in a small town in the middle of nowhere… this place is magic and it’s still alive. You have to respect the efforts people put into things. Well Benson Ice Cream shop I respect you TRY

Great place to stop! Where else can you get so many flavors of soft serve, and *nobody* has the flavors of dipped cones that they do. Caveat: no indoor seating. On the day we were there it was way too windy to be outside, so we ate our treats in the car. Everyone loved their ice cream. I had the peppermint soft serve, which was wonderful. Service was great. They have cut kids behind the counter that really hustle to get your order out ASAP. This is now a «must stop» on our way to Tombstone or Bisbee.

Very cool local Ice Cream shop. Ordered a double espresso blended mocha before getting back on the road. The shop is very cute and the employees are friendly. They have an appointment extensive menu so if you are in the area Check it out they have something for everyone.

You need ice cream for a long drive, right? I actually wanted a slushie, but they were out. Bummer! Ended up with a double blended mocha instead. Pretty tasty and cheap compared to LA prices! The have cute t-shirts too.

Being someone that lives in the area, you’d think that I’d go to this place for 1 reason or another often. Good ice cream at a fair price or bargain coffee or tea drinks only makes perfect sense why someone like me would stop here. I went to this ice cream stop the other day and tried a «frozen chi tea latte» the drink was very good, the gals even added caramel to the top and it cost a few cents more, but the taste was even better. The gals in here are just wonderful. The frozen chi tea latte was really good and now I have a drink I can look forward to having if I can’t make my mind up on what to get next time. Keep up the smiles, laughter, hard work, good drinks and wonderful service.

On our way to Tombstone, we saw this cute little ice cream shop and figured it would be the perfect stop to grab something on our way home. At first glance, it reminded me of an ice cream place that I frequently visited during high school in a different town so I was really excited to try it out! The inside was very small — there was only a little area to stand and order — however, the menu is fairly large. The sign that said they had 24 softserve flavors immediately caught my eye and after much debate I decided to go with the white chocolate soft serve & my date got the blueberry soft serve. We were told that they make the flavors to order but it only took a few minutes for them to get us our delicious treat. The blueberry flavor tasted pretty much exactly like what you’d think blueberry ice-cream would taste like and the white chocolate was as I expected(although it didn’t taste too much like true white chocolate). The regular cone was a little bit disappointing so I’d probably try the waffle cone next time. Definitely stop in when you’re driving through the town!

Great little ice cream shop, glad it is not just another plain vanilla chain store. Try the prickly pear flavor! Service is with a smile.

Soft serve glacier toppings to go. On the way back from Tombstone. Good old fashion soft serve with many flavors and toppings. Purely to go. Worth the stop.

I guess I don’t get the concept. High prices, poor quality. I am immune to the particular appeal that draws people to this place. I ordered a double Mocha which was flavorless and so hot my mouth was numb for days. My daughter ordered the frozen hot chocolate and drank ¼ of it. $ 9 down the drain!

I ordered a chocolate ice cream cone. Disgusting. They ADD chocolate to vanilla ice cream. Who ever heard of such a thing? It was not chocolaty at all. They have tons of flavors but they are adding it to a vanilla base. Gross! There is no place to eat inside on a hot day and they are never open early for coffee when I drive by everyday at 6:30am. Go figure. Too bad, because it’s a cute place from the outside but kind a weird for an ice cream shop.

Staff was friendly BUT the cones were barely filled up to level of actual waffle cone… Now for 4 bucks a cone totally not cool. If you ask them to add more, they won’t take cone back but will give you a cup. Pretty bad when other customers are commenting on their way out that we should ask for the staff to give us a full cone! Won’t be returning.

I’m originally from New Zealand and back(or down) there, we are all about ice cream. When I go home to visit, we have ice cream constantly and ESPECIALLY on road trips. Start driving in the morning, stop to have some breakfast followed by ice cream. Weird to some, delicious to me! So with that little intro, my husband and I were on a mini road trip to a weekend away in Bisbee and spotted this cute little ice cream shop. Without speaking, we both knew we had to stop for a morning snack. There was one sweet girl(how apt!) working who answered all our questions about their ice cream and specialty items. Still being morning, we opted of the ice cream with espresso poured over it(mmmm…). It usually comes with vanilla, but we splurged and had rocky road with our espresso. It was perfect and definitely started our day out on a very happy note. I plan on coming back any time I make the drive through Benson. Live a little and treat yourself!

Coffee and ice cream at the same spot not to mention they have a drive through for added convenience. I really enjoyed the shot of espresso they added to my rocky road I don’t remember what it was called but I haven’t been to an ice cream shop that has done that before and for this they have my vote.

It’s not hard to run a decent ice cream place these days, but I’ve seen some places manage to mess it up thoroughly — poor service, messy kitchen, subpar ice cream. Fortunately, this place has none of those things. It definitely specializes in the stop-and-go customers — it’s right along the way to the highway interchange, and even has a drive-through window. That said, for those of us who prefer to park and go in, the experience is just fine. No furniture, but a plenty big enough waiting area, with large windows through which you can see the(sparkling clean) kitchen. The servers — usually high-school-age girls — have always been notably friendly and fast. They use Blue Bell ice cream, and have a goodly variety of recipes to put it in. Really, it’s all you could ask for in a roadside ice cream stand, and absolutely a must-stop place if you’re on your way to/from the Bisbee/Tombstone area. Nothing like a peach milkshake to cool you down when the desert sun’s beating through the car windows…

Stumbled upon this nifty ice cream stop on our way to Tombstone when we missed the left turn to head south on AZ80. We stepped up to the counter to see they had 44 different soft serve flavors-crazy and overwhelmed I asked the friendly girl behind the counter what her favorite was since they did not have mocha(they did have cappuccino), which I thought was kinda strange since they also do all kinds of coffee drinks. I had the black cherry and wished I could come here everyday to try some other more exotic flavors!

On your way to Tombstone? Or maybe heading down to Whitewater Draw to see the wintering sandhill cranes? Well, you’ll be passing through the town of Benson and whatever you do, stop at the Old Benson Ice Cream Stop/Shop either coming or going or maybe stop twice. Offering a huge selection of delicious ice cream(Blue Bunny runs here!) of soft and traditonal. A bunch of coffee drinks made only with the famous Bisbee coffee. Prices are very, very reasonable and the quality is so excellent. Plus you can sit in the parking lot enjoying your ice cream and watch the Union Pacific trains roll by.
