Disclaimer: Jeani Catalano Grady, the photographer and business owner, is my step-cousin on my mom’s side. That said, Catalano Studio is the only place that I’d ever consider using for professional photography. Jeani is the sweetest person on earth, and her photographs are beautiful works of art. They’re worth every penny(and she’s not cheap). Jeani’s studio used to be on Robbins Ave. in Northeast Philly, but she finally was doing so well with her business that she bought a single Victorian home on Bristol Pike, near the St. Katherine Drexel compound, and restored it. She now uses it as her studio, and it is filled with period furniture. The building is gorgeous, and the décor and furniture is amazing. Jeani did my Communion portraits when I was a little girl, and her pictures made me look like a beautiful little china doll. When I graduated from college, I had her do some more portraits of me, both in my cap and gown, but also in a really pretty dress in her beautiful butterfly garden out back. The only bad thing was that I got eaten alive by mosquitoes in her back yard b/c it was a summer evening, and I had on a dress and bare feet, and I am mosquitoes’ favorite snack no matter where I go. But the pictures turned out beautifully. My mom also had her restore the photos of my grandparents’ wedding, and they turned out really, really well. Someday, if I get married, I only want Jeani to do the wedding photos. She’s amazing. *I can’t post any of her photos online b/c they are copyrighted, but go to her website, and you can see some of her work.
