We went swimming here today and the pool isn’t terrible, but it isn’t wonderful either. There is one slide for the kids to use, which was broken(it is supposed to have water coming down but that wasn’t working). A life guard kept pouring water onto it for us, which was nice of her to do. At around 12:45, a bunch of rowdy kids came rolling in. I understand kids get excited but it seemed that no rules were enforced — you know, «Don’t play so rough,» «RESPECT others,» and so on and so forth. I think the rowdy kids inside of the pool were friends with a few of the life guards, and so it seemed that they didn’t really need to abide by any rules. Or maybe that’s just how they run things here. Either way, their game of basketball and tossing kids into the air and throwing them across the pool was just too rough for my taste. I walked my kids over to their toddler pool, which isn’t much larger than my bathtub. The max is 16 kids in the pool, and there were a total of 5(including mine) when we were there and THAT seemed crowded. The pool only goes as deep as 1 foot, so it is a safe area for them to have a good time. I also liked that it was gated off and separated from the rest of the pool. There was also an endless pool but it was broken as well with a sign saying that they had ordered a new remote for it and it would be delivered in 6 – 8 weeks. But it looked about the size of the toddler pool to me, with the exception of the fact that it is probably deeper. As for the rest of the facility, you’d think they’d have more for something so new. There is a large basketball court. And a small workout area with weights, treadmills and so on as well as flat screen TV’s on the walls. I peeked into the gym the other day during a visit and it had a bunch of trash in it — empty water and soda bottles and so on. Their locker rooms are gross and dirty and the biggest disappointment is that they don’t have a FAMILY locker room. What sort of facility — especially a newer one — doesn’t have a FAMILY locker room? Stupid! The one positive thing I can say is that the staff here is very friendly. Overall, it isn’t terrible. They just need to keep things updated(how do you have so much broken stuff if you’re a newer facility?), keep things C-L-E-A-N and pay attention to people when they’re getting too rowdy. It is nice to have something to do in town because there really isn’t anything else — but can we at least keep it clean and in working order?
