Choices

No more Choices for Benicia… it is now Rookies, a sports bar with lots of TVs and beer… lets see how this incarnation works out.

Sad to say… Choices had to close its doors forever…

Cover band was awesome the night i went… not sure what their name was. Bar set up was decent and the restrooms were clean! That’s a major plus when going to bars. Place wasn’t crowded at all. I enjoyed groovin’ with the older folx because well, i’m into that type of music so overall i will definitely be coming back here.

It is a complete and total skankfest. The liquor in the drinks made my stomach boil and churn. The dance floor is the size of a handkerchief… and it’s sticky. The bar stools are tall and easy to fall off of once you’ve had a drink too many (don’t ask me how I know). The décor is incredibly cheesy — think thrift store posters in cheap frames. The waitresses are non-​existent … I hardly ever see one. All around you there are old skanks with smeared lipstick and swivel hipped pervs or pathetic looking married men on the prowl. Please don’t let them play «Ladies Night» because then all the old women in tight dresses run out there and crowd onto the dance floor and start bumping and grinding. Also, please don’t let there be a slow song because then all the patrons plaster themselves on each other and shamelessly simulate sex on the dance floor.
It’s dirty and disgusting and everything you’d ever hope for in a small town dive bar. Highly entertaining.

Go when Secret Service is there. The are good– covering old school dance and some newer songs as well. Pretty talented… and pretty pervy too! They like molesting the audience, just the women folk though. Don’t feel left out men! If you are young enough one of the dozens of cougars there will feel you up or freak you down on the dance floor.
Cheap drinks will get you wasted.
The waitress is super cool too. She is very accomodating to annoying customers that insist on having not only drinks but waters all around.

Ok where do you go when you have a group of gfriends that want to have fun and get their grove on but not leave the area, you go here. Specifically on the night The Secret Service is playing, I personally call them the Raiders band because they always have something Raiders on. Oh and how can you not love a band member with the name Ugly Fingers. Anywho this place is fun when with the right company. You can get your drink on reasonably cheap, although the $ 10 cover charge is a killer to me now. My cousin EB likes to say we are out Cougar watching when we are there, haha! Sad to see TSS is not there this month.

Came here on a saturday night with some friends. Pretty cool live band, but sucks how we had to pay a relatively steep $ 10 cover. This place is probably a whole lot safer than all the other bars in Vallejo, so making the trek out to Benicia is worth it. Bartenders were friendly and generous with what they had. Apparently they didn’t have any beers on tap the night we went because it was broken. The band was very good though and kept the place alive. I would give this place 2 stars, but because of the Cal pride of one of the bartenders and a few of the customers, i’ll bump it up to 3.

Its the best local spot Benicia has to offer to anyone that wants to party. Live band does the job and its that kinda place where. I have been there about 4 times. The last time was about ½ capacity but still had a good time!
The bartenders can pour so watch out!

We were treated well here early on a Saturday night. The place was empty, but a band was bringing their stuff in and setting it up. Full bar, 3 beers on tap, including Sierra Nevada Pale ale and Coors I think. The other beer was some kind of stout that according to the bartender was being pumped with both CO2 AND Nitrogen. It was OK, but it really didn’t do much for me. A round for 4 came out under $ 20, which was fine.
Nice enough place, but kind of generic. Perhaps we should have stuck around to see the band to get a better feel.
