Our family loves this store! When I take my children out on little dates, they always ask to go to Whole Foods. We browse the aisles, smell the soaps and lotions, and then end our fun at the deli. The bakery to be exact. We pick out a cup cake, cozy up the the fire in the café, and share the best cupcakes on the planet. They have peanut free, dairy free, and gluten free to accommodate all of our diet needs, and the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. Above all this, the people here are fantastic. Always helpful. Always courteous. Always kind.

I’m a personal chef in Bend and can be found shopping at Whole Foods at least 3 times a week. Staff is amazing; meat department is amazing. My pain in the butt special orders are always fulfilled with a smile and appreciation. This place is basically my office — the air pot coffee is as good as any coffee shop in town, and the bakery, while small, is incredibly efficient. I’m a big fan all the way around.

I am so happy market of choice is coming to town I wish New Seasons was coming but thank goodness there will be competition for Whole foods They are continually over priced and the hot bar is usually very bland and old food. I actually used to work at whole foods in college and it has changed to a big corporation that is not so much for the community but for making a profit I love Localvore for meat fish and veggies so I would say I try and avoid the over priced items that have been shipped way across the globe

I love Whole Foods because it usually carries a great variety of things that are local and organic. They also have a very large selection of items in bulk, and you can use your own containers — just have them weigh them at the front before you fill them. Their bath products are wonderful because they come with a guarantee, so if they don’t work you can bring them back. I love the Good soaps in particular; the scents are light, natural, and refreshing! I love all the meat counter staff. They’ve always been super helpful and patient, and I’ve put in special orders for the hatch chile sausages a couple times, which they’ll make fresh for you in the back, if there’s none in the case. You can ask them to special wrap things if you’re freezing it. Great service! Cheese counter will let you cut up anything smaller, so if you didn’t want $ 10 worth of triple crème brie, you can get half or less. And you can sample anything at the deli, which I highly recommend because sometimes that vegan stuff looks delicious but tastes awful. The service I can’t stand is at checkout. If you go to Trader Joe’s and then to Whole Foods and compare, you’ll see a stark difference. I’m expecting at least a hello, competency, and some polite small talk. Some of the cashiers at Whole Foods are super rude. Just today, I went and the cashier literally took my basket and DUMPED it. My olive bar stuff dripped all over the belt, and I’m sure the zucchini got bruised. Then, I was nice enough to bag while she was ringing up, but once she was done she just sat there and watched me bag. I went to grab my wallet and had to ask her to put the last few items in my bag. The entire time she’s not saying a word. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Just some advice to Whole Foods — you can have the most spectacular experience in the store, but if your cashiers suck, that’s going to leave customers with a bad last impression.

Extremely stocked craft beer and craft cider collection here. Looks small, but it seriously delivers. Cases upon cases of special release stuff from Deschutes, Firestone Walker. Tons of local bombers from breweries I’ve never heard of. Grabbed some hard to find Logsdon stuff, Sea Cider. They had Atlas Cider, Red Tank Cider, Breakside, Double Mountain, Elysian, many more. There was a beer person on staff, but didn’t interact with him.

Super impressed with the crew who works in the Skincare/Cosmetics area for women. Great customer service. Your store exceeds the service that I normally go to at home. Thanks and keep up the good work!

One of the cashiers there was so unbelievably rude that I will NEVER go back. He was kind of an older guy with super short silver or light hair. Completely ruined me wanting to shop there ever again!

Pathetic produce. Over-packaged; lots of wilted, wrinkled stuff. Devore’s that same day had much better quality, pretty good variety, and for less money.

Great soups! When it’s cold outside and we need to warm up, we stop by for some soup. They usually have 2 or 3 choices daily. All have been thick, rich and delicious. We especially liked the beef barely, the mushroom, the tomato basil and the chicken noodle. Ok we like almost all of them. The have a great little deli. They offer a wide variety of lunch options. Always a couple of pizza options. A nice selection of fresh sushi to to go. Both green and pasta salads. Plenty of room to eat in – they have several tables inside as well as outside seating(though uncomfortable metal chairs) when the weather is warm.

Meh. Of all the Whole Foods I’ve been to this one was the most mediocre. They did not have the Roasted Vegetable 365 brand frozen pizzas, any packaged bagels(except one brand with plain and cinnamon options which were not great) that were not gluten-free, Artisan Flatbread Vegan Harvest bread, or any Ezekiel sprouted English muffins. Also, google maps said it opens at 7AM… it does not, it opens at 8AM.

I’ve always shopped at Whole Foods in Roseville, CA and just recently moved to Bend, OR so I decided to find the Whole Foods location here. My husband and I had bought some groceries and on the way to the car the paper bag handles broke!!! As well as my milk — which was in a glass bottle! My milk was everywhere! I’m not one to complain but I was pretty bummed, especially after spending $ 7 on milk… which I now can’t drink because it’s all over the snowy parking lot ground … Fail. So, my husband grabbed the milk soaked grocery bag full of broken glass, and we went back inside crossing my fingers I could get an exchange or something! I wasn’t expecting much but figured it was the grocery bags fault, right?! Anyways, we created a trail of milk going back into the store(sorry :/) We did get new unbroken milk thanks to Daniel, an older gentleman, who helped us replace the milk and even clean up the milk trail we brought with us! So yeah, bittersweet story, but I will stay faithful to Whole Foods and try not to forget my reusable grocery tote next time!!!

— Truffle oil marcona almonds with black and sea salt — Dr. Better soft drinks — 100% Raw coconut water(in a bottle) –Pork baos that are passable for Bend — Guiness stout chocolate cake — Various cheeses — Formula for the chubby Itty Bitty The above are the reasons why I frequent this Whole Foods. It’s not the biggest store that I’ve been to, but I was certainly happy with the size after visiting the WF in Winter Park, Florida. At least the lay out makes sense and you’re not constantly bumping into other customers in the aisles. It is pricey. When buying the 365 brand, you can get by with the savings but the stuff that I enjoy and buy are a bit expensive. The almonds are $ 8 for a small container. The coconut water is $ 5 for 16 ounces. Between BD and I we can slam 6 bottles of that a day. The formula I buy is $ 30. I’ve paid close to $ 100 for every trip. The hot food station is very pro vegetarian/vegan. There are times where the only meat will be rotisserie chicken shoved in the corner and a whole slew of various grains, veggies, and tofus. The salad bar is not that large. Staff is pretty friendly(both at the dessert and cheese station and check out). All in all, I enjoy walking around and sampling the goods. I like going down each aisle and finding things you can’t get at other grocery chains and trying them out. I’ll probably always come back(at least once a week) even though my wallet protests and even though it’s a little frou frou. It’s okay to have a little frou frou in your life.

Great selection of wine, beer, cheeses, and produce. All the staff was very helpful. A bit pricey but for the occasional splurge and when looking for quality foods well worth the trip.

I travel extensively for work and end up at the Whole Foods of every town. And Whole Foods of Bend: You’ve got heart! Other places are bigger, have more stuff, etc. but this place is the most fun. I got in a long conversation with Hammer and he told me how to make all kinds of stuff, where the cows they serve come from, where the fish are from… man, these guys could give Portland foodies a run for their money! High five, Bend Whole Foods. I’ve been to many, but I found yours memorable.

Overpriced produce, but good selections of ethnic foods and rare beers. Bought some stuff on Christmas Eve, I wished the clerk Merry Christmas, he said«Yeah. Have a good weekend.» Apparently hippies are too cool for Christmas.

It surprises me to see there are no Unilocal reviews for Bend’s Whole Foods store. So before 2011 becomes 2012, I thought I’d change that. I’m at this Whole Foods nearly every week and yet I never think to take a camera and so have postponed review pending photos. But the year is ticking away so review now and photos to follow. This location used to be a Wild Oats before WF took the reins a few years ago. It is smaller and not as swank as some WF locations(and I’ve visited many WF in many cities to make that comparison). But it is a very good store with a nice selection(for the store size) of good products, friendly people on staff and ample parking in the lot. In fact, it is our second favorite place to shop for groceries and associated«stuff» in Bend — right behind Newport Avenue Market. The«PLUSES»: One of the big assets for this Whole Foods location is the well stocked fresh produce section for organic products(a weak point for Newport in organics) and most often the reason we stop in. We also appreciate the«bin» items(Newport doesn’t have those) for organic raw nuts and grains. The woman who runs the cheese and specialty foods section and all who work there are so helpful and the selection is great.(Woohoo too for their bulk olives.) The wine section has some interesting buys from time to time and the wine steward knows her stuff. The deli take out has vegan, vegetarian and omnivore options where one can make a pretty healthy take out meal — who says«fast food» has to be ultra processed? And there is cozy little area to sit and eat in if you like. The food supplements and vitamin selection here is top notch, plus they can normally special order things for you if they don’t stock it. We don’t eat much meat and when we do we normally buy it at Newport Avenue Market, same goes for the fish which we eat more often, but on the occasions when we have purchased from the WF meat and seafood counter, the folks working there are most helpful. Real beeswax candles in the homewares section! Including beeswax tapers. Hard to find and nice to have here! Papyrus greeting cards. Saving the best for last, the checkers are so helpful and make customers feel as if they appreciate you doing business with Bend’s Whole Foods. The«MINUSES»: Items here can be a tad more than other stores.(But you get what you pay for in quality so maybe that’s not a «minus» after all.) Whomever designed this store with the ULTRA high platform counter for the meat and produce section — ummm… what were they thinking? One feels like a supplicant before the court standing as a customer there. The«BOTTOMLINE»: Last night while my hubby and I enjoyed the glow of beeswax candles while eating our dinner of organic items all purchased at Whole Foods; maple glazed yams with mascarpone, a salad of watercress with walnuts and apples and a glass(or two) of Cava, we remembered again why we are happy to have Whole Foods in town.
