I was duped! The old switcheroo! I knew I shoulda never trusted her! Well, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea in the end… It all started one hangry afternoon. We’d been working diligently in a few of downtown’s coolest coffee shops when, suddenly, we both looked up from our computers and said«Lunch!» Now I’m a guy that needs meat in every meal, but my friend, she’s someone that’s more inclined toward the vegetarian path in life, so we had to find middle ground. She’d been talking up this burger joint that had delicious vegetarian versions, so when she suggested it, I was down. I mean who doesn’t love a big beefy burger? Well apparently I needed to listen a little more closely because there ain’t no beef in these burgers, but there is a whole lotta flavor and fun in this tiny strip mall space hidden just off a busy highway. Now I’m someone that hates the trend toward substitute foods like«veggie burger» and«zoodles», and don’t you dare tell me we’re having spaghetti and meatballs and put a half a spaghetti squash down with the meatballs inside it. I hate feeling duped when it comes to my food. So while checking out the menu here I saw a lot of items marauding as things they obviously are not, like meaty patties, sausage, hot dogs, and: gasp: burgers! I was nervous. I locked onto the spicy bean«burger» because the flavors sounded delicious and it was unique and not a vegetarian ripoff of a marvelous meat based dish. By George, I really liked it! Spicy, savory, and really satisfying, even for this carnivore. You can taste the effort that went into developing that product and all of the love too. I think all veggie«burgers» should take this approach and ditch the«burger» moniker and come up with fun and funky names that take the emphasis off of the meatlessness! But curiosity killed this cat, and we also had to order the«special sauce burger» just to see how it compared to the real deal! This was good, and I enjoyed the fresh toppings and housemade sauces on it, and overall it was a much smaller, yet decent veggie based knockoff. Side wise we had some coleslaw, which I though needed some seasoning, and the oven baked fries, which were awesome! Pretty well done and crispy considering there was no frying involved, and the seasoning was spicy and delicious. Add a little of the organic ketchup, which is more like a natural tomato purée here, and it’s a homerun. As if that doesn’t sound good enough, wash it all down with some amazingly creative all natural sodas, and you’ve got a winning combination! So, the moral of this story is that trickery doesn’t always have negative outcomes! It’s ok to step out on a limb every once in a while, especially when the person pulling you there is Unilocal Bend’s very awesome Community Ambassador Lizzie B.

I’m not even a vegetarian and I love this place ! I take all my Veg. visitors here first and get free meals from them their whole stay. Maybe there is something to this vegetarian thing. I never feel crummy and overfull like regular places.

Having been employed by this wonderful company, I can personally attest to the quality and excellence of the food and atmosphere of this restaurant, both as an employee and as a loyal customer. Next Level Burger is a mile stone in history and a pioneer in plant based foods, catering to breakfast, lunch, and dinner; you can solidly enjoy a hearty meal anytime of the day without feeling the gut wrenching turmoil of greasy ordinary-foods. Next Level Burger is my life long friend. Thank you. Psst, Get your next burger animal style and let out your inner beast.

The bean burger in the Cobb salad are amazing. The atmosphere inside is average. I will most certainly return.

Supper hetty vegan food! I had all American and is was damn tasty! I recommend the fries over the tots. The kitchen took a little bit to get our food out, but worth the wait. If you are in Bend and want to be surrounded by like minded folks, visit this eatery.

I went on a birthday trip to Bend and loved this place so much I wanted to eat there the entire time. I confessed my love to the staff while there and when I got home wrote an email requesting their next location be in Seattle. My fingers are still crossed but so far it has not appeared, although they did say it was a location they were considering. I had many items and everything was delicious, even my non veg boyfriend enjoyed it, and while he is used to eating veggie food, he can be picky. I love that this place provides breakfast as this is the meal I have the hardest time finding vegan while vacationing. I must admit though that even though I was there at breakfast time they were willing to make me lunch so I had this instead. I just love that you can get a good meal on a weekday here in the morning. I really enjoyed the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I also love the concept behind this restaurant and that they are trying to do their best for the environment too. I will definitely stop here anytime I am anywhere near this restaurant. I also just enjoy places that have super easy parking even if they are located in a kind of strange strip mall type setting.

If you’re a non-vegan(or a begrudging vegan like me), this is the place to get your burger fix. Not only is the menu 100% plant based, it actually tastes amazing… my wife is an omnivore and she agrees completely. The All American burger tastes so much like a «real» one we began to doubt their claim of being plant based. But it is true. For people new to this vegan thing that aren’t sure about ingredients and stuff(what is tempeh anyway?) the employees here are happy to answer questions about anything on the menu. For folks who like a beer or glass of wine with their burger, NLB has a nice selection of local and/or organic beverages on hand. I can’t say enough about this restaurant. It’s clean, well lit, fast, affordable, fun, and from now on it’ll be our«go to» when we’re in Bend.

I have been here about 5 times and really great place. The food is a strange mix of healthy alternatives to regulate fare. I have enjoyed many burgers and fries here. I was not a 100% fan of the shake but that was my only miss. The service is beyond good. Every time I come it is clear that customer service is a Winfield this place. Last time I was here I tried the grilled cheese Nd did not really like the added fixings, I did not realize that they were included and when I tried it they asked what I thought. I explained I thought it would just be a simple grilled cheese and she said she would be happy to make me one and did with no added charge and a smile… My mistake not reading the menu and they made it right… A+

Holy vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free absolute deliciousness and perfection! I cannot believe I’ve lived a couple blocks from NLB for so many months and had yet to try it. The moment I walked in the door, the customer service was stellar. I was asked if I had been in before, and when I said no, was given a quick rundown of how things work and was offered a menu highlight from the burger, sandwich, salad and shake section. For being«everything”-free, they have an exceptional menu selection. It’s awesome they list all of the important nutritional details of all of the main items: protein, calories, fat, carbs and fiber. I almost had a meltdown and ordered 5 things as I want to try everything. Eventually I settled on the quinoa and chia burger with non-dairy cheddar. Added a side of the fries and rounded out with a prickly pear organic soda. All of this came to a total of $ 10.50 — prices are reasonable! This was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever tasted, and it didn’t even remotely begin to fall apart as so many others do. The fries were good — didn’t quite hit the spot — but a damn close approximation, especially since they are baked. All of the tables and chairs are reclaimed wood, they compost and recycle EVERYTHING, and have awesome motivational feel-good signs — my favorite today, «Relax, take a big bite, and just taste the health.» I cannot wait to come back and gorge myself on everything else on the menu while feeling good about being good to the planet. Also, they serve breakfast! *No animals, dairy or gluten were harmed in the preparation of these TASTY burgers.

Just visiting Bend, I stopped in to visit a friend who is working here. She raved about the food and offered me a lunch although I am a skeptic of vegetarian food. The burger was delicious and so were the fries. I will definitely be going back for more! Thanks Courtney!

Everything is delicious and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Shakes — yum. Burgers — yum. Fries — yum. Quality — yum. Gluten free quality — best I’ve ever experienced. Herbivores, omnivores, carnivores, and every dinosaur in between could find something they would enjoy here. I am so excited they are bringing Next Level Burgers to Portland soon. I recommend eating 1 to 7 meals here a day.

This place is AWESOME!!! Before going to Bend, I was on the lookout for vegan restaurants. When I first saw this place pop up on Unilocal,I wasn’t too sure and thought it was one of those unhealthy fast food type of vegan restaurants. I’m so glad that wasn’t the case at all! They’re very health-conscious, non-GMO, mostly organic and offer lots of gluten free options as well. Their sweet potato fries are baked with no oil added and you would never think it when you try them because they are SOOOO good and crispy. Pancakes are gluten free and probably the best vegan pancakes I’ve ever had! Some other items I’ve tried and loved are: breakfast bowl, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, cobb salad, SoCal burger and the ridiculously delicious, soft-on-the-inside, crunchy-on-the-outside brownies. YUM! And they have THEBEST gluten free buns! Everyone who works there is super friendly and the owner is very nice and very health-conscious. Nothing better than eating delicious food that happens to be good for your health, the animals and the planet as well! I’m not embarrassed to say that I’ve had 90% of my meals here over my 6 days in Bend! :)

Awesome burgers and sweet potato fries. Nice and quiet on a Sunday night. Close to the river too which makes it a perfect bike-to or walk-to destination. ALLFOODISPLANTBASED. You won’t get a juicy meat burger but the food is delicious.

I wandered in thinking I would grab a quick pre-show burger but didn’t expect it to be a vegetarian joint. The lovely woman at the counter recommended the grilled cheese with half Swiss and half Cheddar. They were delicious! The rest of the menu looked great too. If this company was near my work is have a much better regular lunch spot!

So… Please know that ALL their food is plant-based. I was not a fan of the burger(because I very much love meat products) — but that is not the fault of this place. They cooked a very good burger and have some pretty awesome products to offer. The service was very helpful, friendly, and phenomenal. The only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars is just that the burger wasn’t a perfect fit for me. If you are up to try something new, or looking for plant-based(meat alternative) products — such as BLT, burgers, shakes, and fries — I would recommend this place.

Well I fell in love with this place pretty instantly. The employees were incredibly helpful and appeared quite happy. I hope this means they love their jobs. The food was amazing! 100% vegan, compostable, organic and non GMO. Zero complaints. Well except that I want to go here everyday and there isn’t one in Eugene… yet. Came back for the second day in a row. I just love this place. There seems to be intention behind everything — food trays, paint on the wall, tables — everything has a responsible thought behind it. Very happy to support such tasty food!!!

Super tasty, healthy food… all of it! I’ve had most everything on the menu, and enjoy it all. The original and tempeh burgers are my fave, with the swiss-style cheese, tots, and a coconut-based chocolate shake. Salads are also inspired with unique dressings Will go back… just like every week :)

I had an awesome experience at Next Level recently. Aside from a few tips and suggestions I provided in a message on FB(which are below), overall I enjoyed my food and the atmosphere. I had the All American, a side of tater tots, and a chocolate peanut butter cup milkshake — coconut based. mmm… I loved it! I also heard one customer say«This is plant based? I’m impressed! This is really good!» It made my day! I loved my milkshake, but towards the end the straw started to get soggy and quite useless. I know it’s made out of paper and so was more environmentally friendly, but wondered if perhaps there is a way to make it sturdier? Or use a different type of straw? Maybe bamboo? 2. I also noticed the cups and the serving containers for the ketchup were made out of compostable material which is good in theory, but in reality doesn’t make much of a difference and sometimes requires more energy to break down. Asked if they have thought about using reusable containers and cups for these things instead. I know it would mean using water to wash them, but overall I think this would be the more sustainable option. 3. I enjoyed reading most of the signs up on the walls. I understand the intent of a lot of the messaging but found some of the messages to be a bit much, and some could be offensive or inaccurate since they alluded to burgers and fries being a health food, and some signs contained what some would consider fat phobia messaging. Other than those 3 things I am really excited for this business and for them coming to Portland — although I wish it was in the NE. Being in the Hawthorne area will be great though since there is nothing like their business in that neighborhood already.
