I’m a huge fan of outdoor concerts! I’ve seen some really great shows in the Rain(love the NW weather!) Sun, and even Freezing temps… I saw Death Cab for Cutie w/Bright eyes and The Decemberists over Memorial weekend here. While this review is about the Ampitheater itself, I do have to say I was a little dissapointed in Death Cab, they did not sound on top of their game that night. Bright eyes however sounded awesome! The Decemberists… well, they were hella good, sounded very clear and well put together! Now for the actual venue– the place is great, lots of space, beautiful view of the Old Mill district, and they sell wine by the bottles! First outdoor concert I’ve been to that sells you the whole bottle! While it was a bit overpriced(expected at a concert) it’s a great idea! They have plenty of porta potties too… hey when you gotta go, you gotta go right!?! After the concert is over just outside the gates, they have man taxis, is what I like to call it, he will pedal you across the bridge to The Old Mill district for some late night eats/drinks… great idea and cheap too! I would definately return for another show here…, rain, sun, or wind!
