As sellers, my hubby and I are fans of using Dwellings. We’ve consigned lamps with them, all in excellent shape but which had outlived their usefulness for us and which were not quite right to consign at the shop we normally use. The Dwellings folks were also willing to sell a spendy lamp shade(for those who have purchased shades at the $ 80 and up range you know how painful it is when they don’t work out later) that was unattached to a lamp.(It sold in an eyeblink at their store.) We went back in this week with another lamp and some artwork to sell, the latter more contemporary than would typically be consigned by other resale stores. And in this pass through Dwellings, as before, we noticed how über reasonable were the prices they had on everything in the shop from furniture to accessories to lamps to art. This is an eclectic mix of things, from newer to mid century. If you know what you’re doing here in purchasing older things or items in need of a little repair, you can snag some good bargains, it seems to us. Which is the fun of resale shopping if that is your thing. As in the couple who were in the store when we were and who were in buying mode, choosing the very things I would have zeroed in on if resale of them after refurbishing were my goal. I noted as I left the store they had rung up over $ 800 in treasures. The store is kept clean and is pretty easy to shop in as the entry is level in, all the items spread across two big rooms in an industrial park building are on one level and for the most part, access aisles are kept about 34″ or better clear. There are a lot of resale stores in Bend these days, and Dwellings definitely serves a niche in that market. We’re glad they are there when we have items in great shape to resel but perhaps not swank enough to consign with the other reseller we use, We appreciate the role Dwellings plays in recycling the things we once loved to be used by others. While we never make much on the sale of these things, we also appreciate that is because Dwellings keeps their sales prices low to buyers and we think that is cool too! An added plus, very friendly staff in all of our encounters and good communication too. TIPS: Now open seven days a week, up for four or five when they first opened. Call ahead for hours. Commission split here is 40% to Dwellings, 60% to seller, which is better a seller share the 50% charged by some others.
