Westcott Mercantile

Very cute store! Great stock of gifts and friendly staff. A lot like Marmalade but at a lower price point and with a larger variety of items. I will be back soon!

Slightly expensive but it’s like walking into an old fashioned general store with contemporary choices. They have the greatest selection of unusual gifts! I found adorable reading glasses, cute coasters, a multi-​tasking wallet tool and the cutest headband/​scarf for a teenage girl. I’m almost afraid to go back!

Just a wonderful shop full of unique products, many from «back in the day».

I called Westcott Mercantile a few days ago for an item they regularly carry. The clerk let me know they were out of stock but that she could give me a call once the item returned and reserve it for me. She called today to let me know that they’d received the shipment and asked if I still wanted to reserve the item. I let her know I did. I asked what time they were closing tonight, and she told me six o’clock. She also let me know that they could hold the item for me through the weekend, but I told her I was going to try to get it tonight.
I drove to the store after work and arrived at 5:10pm. The stop has a lot of interesting merchandise, and I had fun browsing… for a few minutes, that is. I was trying on rings when the clerk told me, just so I know, they were closing soon. I looked at the clock, saw that it was 5:15pm, and said I thought they were open until 6pm. She said they usually are but not tonight due to the weather. It was raining; December in New England, that’s not bad. But it’s her decision to make. I would have just appreciated it if she had let me know on the phone. I would have liked to have had the opportunity to check out more of the store.

Love it! The owner and staff are great. Packaging is adorable. Candy, gifts, jewelry and home goods — all unique goods and a great price point = my go to gift store.
