Ordered off of eat 24⁄7. An hour after I ordered Marvin gardens called me and said I had to order more or no delivery. I ordered wings so I could get delivery. More than an hour later I get the delivery. Cold frys, pizza, and wings. Could not even eat the frys as they were all soggy. Called eat 24⁄7 and they didn’t do anything about it. Even chatted with them 3 times after that. They said a manager from Marvin Gardens would call and it never happened.

Great place to hang out and have some good times with family and friends. I passed by this place so many times and never noticed it. Today I finally had the chance to try it and I just loved it! I’ll come back for sure and bring more people with me.

Keeping it short. Food is good(at least the pizza), staff is nice, beer is a little flat though.

The good: Their food is pretty good. Pizzas, burgers, sandwiches are all decent. Big patio in the back. The bad: Service, service, service! I’ve tried calling in an order twice since they advertise that they deliver on their website. Both experiences were incredibly off putting. The first time I called in I called in and said, «Hi I’d like to set up a delivery.» and the lady on the other end said. «We don’t deliver! Click…» I wish I was kidding. I called right back and another lady answered and I told her what happened. And she said, «Yeah sorry about that she was in a rush to get home from work.» So I ordered with that lady and got my food delivered. Regardless, this is completely inexcusable and not a way customers should be treated. The next time I tried to get an order for delivery, I called in and was trying to remember which pizza I had ordered the last time. But their website doesn’t have any descriptions of their pizzas. They just say for example: Marvin’s Pizza, Rustica Pizza but doesn’t show what is on them. So I just said«I’d like to order a pizza but I’m trying to remember which one I got last time. It was either the Marvin’s Pizza or the Rustica Pizza. Could you please let me know the difference and I’ll let you know which one it was?» Her answer was, «Um, there’s a lot of people here and I’m not sure.» And I said, «So you can’t let me know whats on the pizza I’m trying to order? There’s a big chalkboard in the front that shows descriptions of all the pizzas.» She said, I know but there’s a line sorry… So which one do you want?” I said, «Nevermind, this is a joke and you just lost a customer.» She said, «That’s fine, click.» I will never eat at this establishment again unless they find people that actually care about their customers. This is not the way a business should be run. This place needs a complete overhaul. I thought about giving them a 2 star but their service is so bad, that it doesn’t even deserve that.

Given the fact that I live a walkable distance from the bar, this place is pretty laid back and a nice place to hang out with friends. A decent variety of drinks to choose from and they serve food, to which I haven’t actually tried yet but will get to it! They have a nice back patio with a lot of seats to pick from and it is all nicely shaded so you know you won’t feel as hot like today(it’s currently 95). They do live music which is nice and it doesn’t get as crowded as other bars, which is good if you want to just relax or talk with friends(instead of trying to speak over the crowd of people). The staff is pretty friendly and they serve pretty quick as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to relax or socialize.

Nice little neighborhood dive bar with a decent outdoor patio. The hamburger and fries are terrible. It is not clear what is «good here», but they have lots of burgers to choose from. Frozen burger patties ARENOT the way to go if you are going to charge $ 13 for a burger and fries. You people that claim they have great burgers either a) have never ventured past McDonald’s or b) are missing your taste buds. This is why Unilocal doesn’t work. Too many people with no taste in food.

A low-key, friendly, non-pretentious(and kid-friendly) bar-restaurant with some of the best food in the Bay Area. It’s not a good spot anymore for watching sports, but still a great place to meet friends. The Starvin’ Marvin is honestly one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had, and if you’re avoiding beef for the drought their turkey burgers and grilled chicken are equally awesome. You can substitute a(very good) garden salad for the fries. Their pizzas are also extremely good without trying too hard: thin crust, lots of cheese and toppings, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. As for drinks, it’s a full bar and prices are reasonable. If I don’t want alcohol the iced tea is real, honest iced tea: as in, from a kettle and poured over a glass of ice. One warning, their tiny parking lot is so cramped I don’t even try. There is plenty of street parking within a block of the place. And as for sports, they no longer play sound for even prime time games, unless it’s the rare huge game(like a World Series final) while the owner happens to be there. It’s locked down so the bartenders don’t even have the ability to turn the TV’s sound on.

Nice neighborhood pizza/burger joint. Been here a few times. The sandwiches are pretty good. Tried the El Paso last night(burger with green pepper and cheese). Listened to some nice tunes while eating my budget and downing a Guiness. And no cover charge for a Friday night(to see John Blues Boyd from Mississippi). Since the shows this night are 6 – 9 and I am no longer in my 20’s, it is a nice option. Put it all together and it rates 4 stars. From the looks of the other reviews looks like I will need to try the pizza next time.

Most of my reviews seem to be about beer and food. And that’s why I come to Marvin’s. A nice little bar tucked away in the side streets of Belmont. It’s right under the Caltrain tracks so it’s always super cool to see the train pass by if you’re sitting in the patio. They occasionally have live music in the patio for you to enjoy. The place never seems very busy when I come(even weekend nights) so it’s a nice intimate setting most of the time out on the patio. I’ve only had food here two out of the few times I’ve been. The burger I got was pretty good though. The bun was nice and crispy, which is the most important part to me anyway. My friend introduced me to this place because she knows some coworkers who used to hang out here all the time after work. I can see why! Nice place to just get a beer after a long week in the office. Marvin’s is becoming a Friday tradition for me. I’ve mostly been here at night, but came recently in the afternoon. The patio was nice and toasty.

It is a bar that happens to serve the best pizza! Tons of beers! We ordered the pomodori pizza… no sauce, slices of tomato, panchetta, capers and garlic. Lemon slices are served on the side, squeeze lemon on the pizza and ENJOY! The best pizza ever! Hoping to come back was so good! Servers were excellent and friendly as is the regulars. Good conversation!

The truth: It’s a bar a hella comfy patio, excellent, made-in-house pizza, and just all-around good vibes. Cons: It’s a bar? To all you haters: It’s a bar! Order pizza or burgers, not salad, and drink beer, not water! Expect barlike service!

Went here today to watch the Niners and eat lunch. Very disappointing on this first visit eating inside. I have taken pizza to go ion the past. My bf ordered the sampler and I ordered the Caesar. Caesar included romaine lettuce and canned Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The dressing was watery with no flavor; overall salad was bland. The sampler included ribs calamari wings and onion rings. Except they failed to tell say they were out of wings and provided replaced them with chicken nuggets McD would not serve. It was a lovely day, we decided to sit in the back patio outside. While friendly people our order was announced by yelling through the kitchen pass to come and get our food. This place used to be great… maybe the ownership changed. I’m done never again

The burgers will disappoint you. Asked for medium-rare burger, came out well-done. Took it back and asked again for a medium-rare, and again got a well-done burger — with recycled fixings. They don’t know how to make a burger. 2 stars for the outdoor patio and TVs. Never going back.

Do not ever go to this place on a Monday night especially during football season. a) no one was sitting at the tables or in the back patio. We four were the only ones. There were a few sitting in the bar stools. b) Ordered chicken wings, they were tough, I mean tough as leather. Took it back, the cook said I cooked it «yesterday». I mean he is admitting to serving me at least 24 hours old chicken wings. Sent it back and asked for a new batch, same as before, could not take two bites in a wing. c) Beer was not cold. d) Pizza crust was dry and the usual pizza our entire company loved on Fri evening, sucked yesterday. To think that I took an interview candidate to this place.

After a long hike in Half Moon Bay, it was decided that we would all go get lunch at Marvin Gardens. Marvin Gardens is located in Belmont and it’s actually located(sort of) near my favorite yogurt spot(Menchie’s) so I was really surprised when I got here. Getting here was pretty easy and I’m not sure if there’s a parking lot, but there is definitely street parking. You just have to look. Once inside, you’re going to immediately notice one of two things. It’s either their large screen television on the left side of the room that is on some sports channel or their large wall of alcohol bottles and cans. The menu is straight ahead and it’s a pretty big menu so you can’t really miss it. And the inside is divided up into 2 rooms. The main room is where the bar area is and a few tables and the menu. The smaller room has about 4 small tables and bathrooms. Interesting part of all this is the mint dispenser machine in the middle of both rooms. Service was okay. Not much to really say. The dude working the cash register was friendly enough. But definitely keep your ears open for your order. They call out your name for pick up! I ordered their starvin’ marvin burger and it was good. As far as burgers go, this one didn’t really sit on my heart like the red tavern double at Red Robin’s does. And their fries are yummmmmm. Overall, decent food at affordable costs. Would definitely come again.

Pretty good pizzas, they were out of potato skins so I got chicken wings. Asked for mild sauce but they were super spicy. Noticed all of the tables were messy, barely any open clean tables to sit. But cute place.

When I lived in the Bay Area 12 years ago, this was a regular haunt. It was a funky little blue collar joint in a random location with a pancetta and garlic pizza that was great even by my seriously picky, born-a-stone’s throw-from-New-York pizza bias, which is severe. Now it has new owners and its a funky little blue collar joint with mediocre pizza. By West Coast standards, it’s OK. By its own standards from back in the day, it is a terrible disappointment.

Upon my second visit, I feel compelled to make two major notes: + Ranch Dressing is a default side, at least with the fried zucchini + Do not order the Mexican pizza if you suffer from acid reflux or heartburn easily Beyond that, it’s a fantastic dive bar that I’ll definitely return to, as it’s close to home and the Caltrain station.
