My son just«aged out» of his GamePrep team after approximately 2 years in the program, and I simply can’t say enough great things about Anthony, Justin, Nick, Sean, Jimmy, Tony and the rest of this top-notch group of baseball lovers/teachers. If all you care about is having your kid play shortstop every inning, or winning cheap trophies at random tournaments each weekend, this is probably not the best way to «play travel ball», but if you want your child to learn the long-term-critical nuances of playing the game correctly, from instructors who really know what they are talking about, and care about developing young players to maximize their individual potential(and learn some crucial life-lessons along the way), than this has to be the best option on the Peninsula… by far. You may not always hear what you want to hear, but you will get an honest, well-informed perspective, with a focus on the mental elements of competition(relevant to all sports) as well as «the Why’s» behind positional techniques, etc. It’s probably also worth warning some people that GP encourages kids to take responsibility for their own development, and this extends to taking care of their gear, getting to practice on time, etc., so if you’re intent on micro-managing your son’s experience for him, this may not be the best fit. I just hope that my son can continue to work with Anthony down the road, as I suspect that it will get harder for him to find time to offer individual hitting lessons, etc. as his Academy continues to grow. Good thing he’s been so thoughtful and deliberate in recruiting like-minded(college & pro-level) coaches for his staff!
