Yet another local Chinese take-out under my belt. This place is convenient to Bellmore village so it was good for a quick bite before the movies. I tried one of my usual favorites Kung Po chicken; their version not very spicy but certainly tangy, filled with crunchy vegetables, fried rice that accompanied the combination was good. Not a great egg roll but passable.

We used to love this place when we moved to long island. However the last two times we’ve ordered have been utter let downs. Last time they completely missed our order and we all scrambled around and shared our meals because they wouldn’t deliver the other order. Then we ordered again and they gave us the completely wrong thing even though I had them repeat my order to me. Then when I called back they said that was the way they made the dish(we ordered chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce and it came with some weird meat and NOBROCCOLINOGARLICSAUCE). How do you change the way a dish is made and leave out two of the main ingredients?! When I told them to deliver the right meal they said they didn’t have a delivery guy, meanwhile when I placed my order the guy said delivery would take 30 minutes vs 15 for pick up. So annoyed! Never ordering here again, Danny Chinese here we come!

Chung hing, you were my favorite. We had a good run. This afternoons odd beetle type insect in my chicken fried rice though… Not cool. Goodbye forever Chung hing.

Bellmore Chinese take out spot that’s been here for as long as I can remember puts out decent, standard Chinese dishes. I do appreciate that they customize dishes just for me when I tell them what I want added or removed. Wife thinks this is the best take out in the area. Although on a recent visit when brown rice was requested we got home and discovered we were given white rice. Sometimes when we put in a larger order here, they throw in this mystery bag with«FREE» written on it. Once this bag had dumplings, another time it had these odd tasting fried things. Deep fried mystery meat, old tofu? chicken butts n lips? Your guess is as good as mine. Even though this place is fair, we keep returning. Like I said, wife says its the best in town.

There’s not much that separates Chinese takeout places from one another especially on Long Island where they’re a dime a dozen. But I will say, Chung Hing’s has amazing steamed dumplings, they’re like the size of two normal dumplings and the meat isn’t scary looking! The foods not as greasy as most and they are quick, usually within 10 minutes of ordering your food is ready. It’s good enough to be your«go to» place but not anything to jump at.

Was my go-to place for pepper steak until one night i received it and it wasn’t at all spicy although on the menu there is a pepper icon next to the name of the dish and the prev 20 times i had ordered it there was no problem. Must have a new chef or new recipe. Will try out other places.

It’s been a few years since I wrote the below review. In that time I’ve come to appreciate what Chung Hing does well. The dumplings, and won tons are superb. The fried rice is hit or miss. Everything else is ok. This is now our default Chinese place in Bellmore. ==== original review below=== Ate here December 11, 2009. Figured it was time to take a break from Shanghai Pavilion. Not impressed with Chung Hing. Won Ton soup: Very tasty, A Chicken noodle soup: Blah, C Dumplings: huge and tasty, A Roast Pork Lo Mein: tasted almost like spaghetti, C Moo Shu Chicken: tasted burnt, D Roast Pork Fried Rice: Ok… not great. B– Spicy won tons: basically won tons with spicy BBQ sauce on them, pretty good. A– The Moo Shu Chicken was almost $ 10 and sucked. Even minus the burnt taste it wasn’t very good. Lo Mein also wasn’t that good.
