Bedford & Mane

It has taken me 25 years, but I have FINALLY found the most incredible salon! I was introduced to Bedford and Mane two years ago when Kim and Marcus came to my friends house to style our hair for her wedding. From that moment on it was love at first hair-​do!
I decided to make a haircut appointment after being so impressed with my wedding up-​do. I ended up going to Marcus and he was unbelievable. Marcus takes his time when cutting and does not rush you at all. He pays attention to detail and really understand the ‘science’ behind hair and how each style works differently for every person.
I have searched high and low for a salon, never going back more than two times to the same person, but now I feel lucky to have a stylist to call my ‘own’.
The entire staff, the atmosphere and the store is wonderful. If you want a new ‘do’ head on over to Bedford and Mane for an outrageous look. I promise you will NOT be disappointed!

Went to Beford and Mane after trying out 3 different salons in the past year. I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for in a hair salon. I was lucky enough to have both Marcus and Kim do my hair. Kim did the color and Marcus did the cut. I couldn’t be happier. The atmosphere is great as well prices. I’ve been telling everyone to switch to Bedford and Mane!!!

While the people here are super nice, I have had two bad experiences with getting my hair dyed in a row. The first time, the color didn’t come out how I liked and my hair was stringy (until the day I redyed it). They also got dye all over the back of my neck; I was blue!
I gave them a second chance because a different person was going to dye it. I have very dark brown hair and preferred that it not be bleached this time since it didn’t look good last time (once the dye ran out, half of my head was just white). I asked if this would be a problem and I was told that it would dark, but visible. It is not. No one can see that half of my hair is purple. Not even if I tell them. This wasn’t cheap and what was the point?
How do I say something to the store? I’ve been there numerous times and there is never a manager or owner there as far as I can tell.

Had tried to do my hair color myself… i know, big NO NO… and went to see Marcus… he was fantastic explaining what I needed to do to get rid of the brassy color I did myself… Marcus color corrected and added highlights and did a BEAUTIFUL job, he’s like a magician, I am sooooo very happy with my hair and the atmosphere and everyone was great! I now will be a regular!!! :)

Kim is one of my best customers (I’m a nail tech) the moment my hair stylist moved out of state I thought of her. I told her what I wanted, and my concern about my hair since I been blonde for a year. I wanted a change. I wanted pink hair.
The moment I parked on front of her salon she got me. Is beautiful outside and even more inside. Is clean and very organized. She was the first one to great me, and the staff was very friendly and assisting.
Kim knew my hair need special care so she treated like a valuable treasure (it is to me). It need it to bleach the grow and apply pink on my hair. The final result… MAGICAL. I can’t stop looking at my hair. Everybody complements my color and ask how if is been bleached it looks so healthy.

I have been going to Kim and Carli foreverrrrrrrr… their new salon is down to earth, spotless, friendly and just an all around great experience. I was there yesterday for Carli to cut and color my hair and it came out great as always! I was so impressed with Carli as I watched her train a new shampoo girl. The way she did this was with so much great advice and real everyday guidance I know this employee will be an added member of the Bedford and Mane family. Kudos to Carli and Kim and the rest of the staff!!!

Bee A, sounds like you have an anger issue if you want to beat up someone who was not even styling your hair. In my opinion you seem like a negative and aggressive person since you only have 1 review on Unilocal talking about causing harm to another person you barely know. I thought the salon was trendy, everyone was very friendly and my hair came out just the way I wanted. Thanks Shiela!

I almost never go to a salon for my haircuts and haven’t had my hair professionally dyed for about 15 years. So, I’m not an expert salon reviewer. Consider that my disclaimer. However, I know when a business treats it’s customers right.
I found Bedford and Mane through a friend whose regular stylist has always been Kim Castro, the owner of the salon. Kim did a hair trial for me for my wedding and nailed the pinup look I was going for. It’s not easy to work with my hair because it is thin but also frizzy and very curly. I went back to Kim to get clip in extensions put in and to have my hair dyed to match the extensions for a big night out with my husband – and, again, she made me look beautiful.
The salon is nicely decorated and super clean. The stylists are very down to earth and friendly. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else, and I don’t even live in Bellmore, I’m in Floral Park and drive 30 minutes out of my way to go there.

One of the cleanest, nicest salons in Bellmore town. The owner, Kim is one of the best hair stylists I have ever gone to. She cuts my entire family’s hair. The salon is like no other.

Honestly, after having my hair styled here, I would NEVERRRR consider going anywhere else. The stylists know their craft and their product… Perfectly might I add. The stylists are not pushy and are very much willing to make suggestions to ensure the best look possible. In the end, I promise you won’t regret what you see in the mirror. Sharp, clean and ready for action! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO EVERYONE!

I decided to try this new salon in bellmore village. Haircut was ok but not anything special. Here’s my problem, I dont think I have ever met someone so full of themselves and opinionated to the point where i wanted to cause harm… Theres some blonde in there, I think Kara or Karrie is her name. Although I didnt go to her for my haircut its the only thing that stands out for me. Loud– obnoxious among other things. I dont think I can ever go back because the 45 mins I was there lsitening to her go on about how great she is was torture ! Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. Theres plenty of great salons in that area…
