I am on a strict diet and get sick to death of Lean Cuisines, but I live pretty far outside of town, and don’t get into town very often. When I do, and can afford to, I treat myself to Subway to get one of the 6 grams of fat or less 6″ subs. Since they’re doing the $ 5 footlong for the month of February, I’ve gone 3 times this month to 3 different Bellingham Subways, and gotten the footlong to have half for lunch and half for dinner. The 9-Grain-Wheat is the second lowest in calories, and since it is the one they use in their Nutrition Facts for their 6 grams of fat or less 6″ subs, it is the one I have been ordering. When you’re having to do without a lot of the things you’re used to for flavor, such as cheese, or ranch, or mayo, or even their garlic flavored sub bread, you want as many flavorful things as possible to satiate your palate. The 9-Grain-Wheat helps with this. I also found out from the Subway at Sunset that they keep leaf spinach hidden away, available upon request. Since I won’t eat their lettuce or tomatoes, it’s awesome to have another vegetable to add to my sandwich, and a greatly healthy one at that! I went into this shop today on Northwest. The guy working wasn’t very friendly at all. I asked him for the 9-Grain-Wheat, and he said they were out. He asked if I wanted 9-Grain-Honey-Oat instead. Luckily, I already knew that while the 9-Grain-Wheat is the second lowest in calories, the 9-Grain-Honey-Oat is actually the very highest. If they were out of wheat, any other bread they offer would be better for my diet. So I just got the Italian, which is just white bread, and the lowest in calories. But not what I wanted or went in for. He put on my meat and then vegetables. I asked for green pepper, and he spread 2 strings of it out over the whole sandwich! I said«would you please give me a bunch of that?» He said«ok,» and added more, but it ended up only being the same amount another Subway would have given in the first place. The same thing happened with the pickles. When we got to the spinach, he said they didn’t have any. So they’re out of the bread I wanted, they’re out of the spinach, he skimps on my veggies, and he’s not very pleasant. At the last minute I realize that he hadn’t toasted it, nor had he asked if I wanted it toasted. It’s supposed to be toasted before the veggies are put on so that they don’t get soggy. I had him go ahead and toast it, but I was pretty annoyed by then. I would not return to this Subway. There are so many other Subways around town, and I’ve never had a bad experience at any of them.
