Just stay away far away the Hampton Inn is across the street and they lock the doors at 10 pm however have 24 counter service. The area is known for drug use and houses sexual offenders, The cops visit this place on a regular basis usually for drug use or mental problems

Hmm, what can I say about the Shamrock motel… as I sit here at 3am still listening to my neighbors tv BLARING through the walls that are apparently made out of paper, with no end in sight because the front desk won’t answer the phone and because of the way the atmosphere makes me feel, I’m afraid I might get shot if I knock on their door to ask them to turn it down… The accommodations themselves are not as bad as other reviews have stated(ALWAYS read reviews before deciding on a place, lesson learned!!) except the«free wi-fi» is barely connectable unless you sit at the perfect angle by the front window and don’t breathe or move a millimeter once you have connection. Long story short, JUSTSAYNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to Shamrock Motel! Pay the extra $ 5 to go to Comfort Inn, which has an almost FIVE star rating here. If I thought I could get anyone to answer at the office I would demand my money back and drive there so I could get some SLEEP. If you plan on SLEEPING during your stay in Bellingham, STAYSOMEWHERE, heck, ANYWHEREELSE!!! ADD: It’s now 4 am, still no end in sight, and to top it off, the person in the room above me is now awake and I can hear every little move they make as the whole ceiling creaks and cracks under the weight of them moving around. KICKING myself for not reading reviews before picking a place… as a Unilocalster, I should know better.

This place is the most disgusting place I’ve ever tried to stay. I say tried because I wound up demanding my money back within an hour of getting there(which was reluctantly returned). The room had the look & feel of this being a skid row flop house for quite some time-it was grungie, the curtain was ripped & barely staying attatched to the wall, the wall’s were dirty, the furniture was rickety, I didn’t even want to walk bare foot on the rug– I shiver just thinking about it. What made me finally decide I just couldn’t stay was when I pulled the cover’s down on the bed, it looked like the sheet’s had never been washed & had what appeared to be the stain’s of who know’s how many«adult meeting’s» all over them & the wrinkle’s had just been smoothed out so it wouldn’t be obviouse they wern’t changed(yeah right). Stay away from this one!!!

well, i dared to find out for myself, as {hope is eternal} the price was attractive & not ALL reviews were bad … yeah, it is smudgy, worn & smelly [it took a while for me to realize & be bothered by the odor, tho’], but the bedding seemed clean, the tv worked(with a few of the«better“cable channels), microwave & fridge nice to have ~ i doubt it will last [to complain about] much longer, as it is barely keeping decent & is ripe for being bought up by a big chain; for now, i can say that it is okay«in a pinch» & certainly economical compared to the other motels in the area ~

I stayed at this place one weekend about a year ago, when we were delayed in leaving Bellingham on a busy weekend and weren’t able to find anything else with a vacancy. This may well be the worst motel I have ever visited in my life. The room stunk; a mixture of smells which, if it were like analyzing a wine, would best be described as «old socks, stale Pine Sol, mildew, and rug funk». The furnishings were rickety to the point at which I was fearful for my GF’s safety and the carpet appeared not to have been cleaned in a matter of months. The clerk behind the desk could not have been less involved with us as customers if he had been wrapped in cellophane and the«amenities» of the place — and I use that term VERY loosely — were nearly non-existent. The whole thing looked and felt like a business that has already failed and no one has yet realized it. Now, today, I find that another person here on Unilocal wrote a review of it and was threatened with a lawsuit if he left it posted here. I believe, from what I read, that he hadn’t actually stayed at the Shamrock before writing the review. Lucky him! If I rubbed a lamp and a genie appeared and agreed to grant me three wishes, right after World Peace and having my GF walk again, I would have to seriously consider being allowed to forget any trace of my stay at The Sham(Amen!)rock Motel in Bellingham. If there were a way on Unilocal to award negative stars, this would be well into negative double digits.
