Purple Smile Wines

I was excited to try wine sampling but the large bald man working there did not offer or even look my way. I was the only customer in the store and he manage to ignore me the whole time.

Try their blend it was very tasty — great place to stop in for a glass of wine while visiting.

Pretty big selection of wine for a small shop. I love going in and doing the wine tastings, usually around $ 6 for 5 or 6 tastes. Its fun when the weather is nice to sit and sip at the outside tables and people watch.

Our purchase was simple– We needed a corkscrew for a bottle of mead we had purchased (at another shop, lol) and so we noticed this wine store close by where we were shopping. We purchased a teflon coated sommelier corkscrew for 7.95.
Inside, they were doing an italian wines tasting at the time, and the store was pretty crowded. I didn’t have time to browse the wine, I was more interested in their beer selection. They had IPA in a can. Holy smokes. I was blown away. :-) I rarely see that anywhere. They also sold Ninkasi IPA. My favorite. Anyone who sells that has good taste in my book.
I’d love to rate them higher but I didn’t get the 10 dollar wine tasting to give more input. They had a big wall of wine, and I wish we had more time to browse. Service was nice and friendly.

so I was really excited to find some wine in bellingham visiting last week. Purple smile wine was cute, great idea, and good location. I paid for a tasting and the man working left me in the shop while he went in the back office to work. I waited a long time between pours and asking him a question about the wine was like pulling teeth! I was the only person there and I guess he didn’t think one is a valued customer. hedid however tell me he wasn’t the owner (I could tell) Too bad because I had $ 100 set aside just for wine and I wanted it to be here but I just couldn’t after being brushed aside.

Great wine selection, great wine advice. Always wonderful wine tastings. Proprietor, Wick, always makes it fun! We joined the wine club and are very impressed with Wick’s monthly selection of wines.
