Newbury Comics

Visited Newbury Comics in Bellingham today, Black Friday, and had a great experience.
I normally go to the HUGE Newbury Comics in Norwood (about 25 minutes from here), and thought this one would be comparable. Yet, it’s much smaller, and therefore, unable to carry as much as I’d hope. I came in, since I’m obsessed with the TV show Full House. I have always been able to find a few DVDs (and I’m only missing 2 seasons!). Now, I was disappointed to find there weren’t any in stock, YET I found some other GREAT DVDs (such as The Brady Bunch & The Mary Tyler Moore show, yet I REALLY need to stop living in the past, so I only got a few). Anyway, the staff offered to look on the computer for Full House DVDs at other stores, and were very friendly and helpful. I told them I’d look around first, possibly the Natick Newbury Comics may have those 2 lone seasons I need!!!
Overall, I wish I found the DVDs here, yet still super happy with my visit.
I will be returning. 5 stars.

Really great place! The comics portion seems a bit misleading since they have a small collection of books and graphic novels/​manga in the back. They also have lots of action figures and designer toys/​dolls, POP! toys, used video games and DVDs, vinyl, silly stuff you would find at a Spencer’s Gifts, Spirit hoods, tee shirts, and LOTS of used CDs. It’s essentially a mix of Hot Topic, Spencer’s, and local comic and record shops.
You won’t get bored looking around this store! The staff are also pretty friendly, too. I wish they would expand their chain to Philadelphia. The thing is I felt I could buy some of the stuff they had in their store cheaper online so while I did spend about 2 hours in there, I didn’t buy anything. It’s a great shop, though, especially if you are looking for used CDs and DVDs.

As the other reviews state that it’s was previously closed, but it’s back! Every time I’ve been into this store it’s been great, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I rarely have to ask where to find something, it’s a small and quaint store. They have everything your regular Newbs would have, they have a larger CD and DVD collection with a smaller selection of your favorite comics and t-​shirts/​accessories! Stopping by is a great way to support your local record shop!

Like the first few Newbies, this location is small and intimate. It has the charm and atmosphere that the mega-​Newbury Comics in Norwood lacks. I could spend hours here.
The staff is really friendly and helpful, but you won’t need much help finding what you’re looking for. DVDs are organized well and easy to find by genre and title. Used copies come at excellent prices, even hard to find movies. They have a respectable number of Criterion Collection offerings, a large animé section and lots of giftable box sets, too. The TV on DVD section grows by the minute.
This location focuses on music and DVDs, and doesn’t have as many novelty trinkets, but you can still find tees, wallets, key chains and bacon-​flavored anything.
