Wow! This store has really gone downhill. While I never typically like having sales associates trying to help me in every aisle, it would be nice if there was one in the entire store. I was in the store for more than 30 minutes looking for an item I’ve seen many times. However I could not locate it today. I spent so much time looking for it, I finally had to use the bathroom. The entirely dark bathroom has automatic lights that don’t come on until you’re half way into the room. I wish they would have stayed off. One toilet was plugged, and the rolls of toilet paper had been placed on the floor in both stalls. This isn’t something that a customer without a key could have done. Both rolls were black and filthy, something I don’t think the health department would be thrilled with. I left the bathroom and tried to find an associate, but it seemed that the cashier was the only person working in the entire store! The aisle up to the register was so tight that I wasn’t going to squeeze by people to ask for her to page someone. I also do not feel it’s appropriate(or up to fire code) to have to squeeze through that narrow blockade through a line of people in order to exit the store. Especially if I’m not even buying anything! So I waited for someone to come in the entrance(which can only be triggered from the outside_again total fire hazard) and left.

Good sized Michael’s for a sub-urban area, only problem I had was when the cashier insisted that I pay her the 1 penny I was short on the transaction. I was not thrilled, and just«loudly» asked the line of customers around if anyone can«donate» a penny towards the transaction. seriously, a PENNY?! I second the other reviewers, why the attitude? this is a waste of everyone’s time!

When I need to decorate and I can’t find something elsewhere I will come to here as a last resort. It is in a super busy shopping center and its product quality and selection is noticeably weaker than in years past. My experience with staff is avereage, mostly they are just«doing their job» and lack enthusiasm. I would prefer to get supplies from knowledgeable people that have a passion for what they sell.

Art supplies are 50% cheaper than in Canada and they will honor Canadian coupons that are e-mailed weekly. The staff needs to smile more. It’s a craft store for f*ck’s sake… why the negative attitude?(most of the times that I have been there). Today I had an awesome girl at the ’til whom had a gold headband that reminded me of Canadian singer/songwritter Lights.
